We’re pleased to announce that here at MNHQ, we’ve worked with Cadbury to create a shiny new chocolate bar emoticon Chocolate Smile

There are many occasions when a MNer may deserve a chocolate bar, and a moment of joy after your DCs have done something you’re particularly proud of may be one of these key moments. The more joyful the moment, the higher it might rate on the Joy-o-meter.

Cadbury say “What we’ve created in partnership with Mumsnet is a fun addition to the MN emoticon family which allows people to share their love of chocolate and how they feel about it. It’s something we feel passionately about in Cadbury and anything which brings people together in the joy of chocolate is a great moment to be embraced. Of course, we prefer the real thing, but who knows where the future will take these little emoticons so let’s wait and see Wink

So, what have your DCs done in the past couple of weeks that brought you some joy? Maybe your DC made you a cup of tea for the first time? Perhaps you’ve finally succeeded in potty-training? Or maybe your DC has done their homework without you reminding them? How would you rate this moment on the Joy-o-meter: 1 to 5 chocolate bars?

Whatever your moment of joy was, we’d love to hear about it!

Share your stories here, and offer a bit of chocolate to your fellow MNers if you like – everyone who adds a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will receive a £200 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck Chocolate

My DD came up to me and gave me a huge, long cuddle. That's a big deal as she's non NT and not a hugger Chocolate

rachelmi · 18/11/2015 12:07

My darling son came to the gym with me! Working out together!!
( 5 chocs )

Sasy24 · 18/11/2015 12:10

My 2 1/2 told me "I love you mummy" which was unprompted (and adorable). "You are my gorgeous pet" she added giving me a hug. The sentiment was there!!!

julieef · 18/11/2015 12:11

my newborn grandson born last week he is beautiful and fills us with joy

julieef · 18/11/2015 12:13

my joy meter is 5 chocs for my gg telling me she loves me forever and ever

gamerwidow · 18/11/2015 12:16

My 5 year old DD has finally learnt to sleep past 6 am thats got to be worth at least 5 chocs on the Joy-o-meter.

jandoc · 18/11/2015 12:28

my dd was staying with her little friend for the first time and was a bit anxious about it but she calmed down enough to make it happen and it was the best night she had

Chocolate was a very late acquire taste for my two, now grown up, kids. We early in life discovered their allergic reaction to milk and dark chocolate was too bitter. So not much joy... Now with all the variations it is easier.

My son has been battling an Eating disorder but this week has managed to eat foods on his scary list. Very proud.

ThomasRichard · 18/11/2015 13:06

Surely MN should have a hummus and crudités emoticon? Wink

Not in the past two weeks but way back when, then-2yo DS made a 'baby-stinging' device to stop newly-crawling DD from destroying his Duplo creations. It still makes me smile, so ChocolateChocolateChocolate for the memory.

My 7yo just initiated a conversation about bullying, prompted by a PHSE lesson at school today. I was so pleased she felt comfortable chatting to me about it and, best of all, had some good ideas on what she would do if she felt bullied or if she thought she saw someone else being bullied. chocolate chocolate chocolate chocolate chocolate

My son had a fantastic report at his first parent's evening. So nice to know that they think he's a lovely little boy, as we think he's amazing and he makes us proud every day.

seeingdouble2 · 18/11/2015 13:44

my daughter got 10/10 on her spellings for the first time! I was more excited and proud than her! :)

glennamy · 18/11/2015 13:45

DD has taken her first steps... 10

BellaWella86 · 18/11/2015 14:13

My non-verbal toddler is responding to more and more words every day during the last few weeks! So happy. Definitely a 5 on the joy meter :)

sharond101 · 18/11/2015 14:23

Ds1 has just drawn me a square, circle, rectangle and triangle. He is 3, I am so proud. Meanwhile dd who is 6 months is learning to roll and eat big girl food.

@BewitchedBotheredandBewildered

Sorry to be a downer on all your lovely moments but am I right in saying that this is the first commercially sponsored emoticon on mumsnet?

If it is, I would like to know if there is a click rate for using it.

To confirm, this is the first commercially sponsored emoticon on MN. We thought it was a good fit with the MN talk boards as chocolate is something often offered on the boards, and since we have lots of work planned with Cadbury over the next year, they were happy to help with the development of it. There's no click rate paid to MN. So do feel free to use it wherever you feel it's needed - at no cost to Cadbury, yourself or Mumsnet. Smile

The chocolate worthy moments don't involve Cadburys now. I so want the old Cadburys gorgeous flavour back. Sad

Justremember · 18/11/2015 14:33

My DH dropped off a chocolate brownie at lunchtime, which is a first! Something's made him happy, and the brownie has made me very happy too ChocolateChocolateChocolate

My little one seems to have picked up something from me which just sounds so cute, sometimes when she asks for things I would reply with 'Of Course' now when I ask her to do something she says 'Of course', she sounds so cute! ChocolateChocolateChocolate

Finally got my DD to go to sleep on her own in her own bed, so I can relax downstairs with a cuppa and a Chocolate

Ikea1234 · 18/11/2015 15:29

Hubster gets home from work early after meeting with clients.
As I am heading off to school run, we decide to go together.
Son sees Hubster in the car and says "Why are you home from work so early? Have you been fired?"
This is made super special as my son is autistic and people say they have no sense of humour.....it rates a five from me....

Maclairey · 18/11/2015 15:39

My 2.5 yr old ds1 started singing twinkle twinkle to his crying 7 month old brother yesterday. The crying stopped and I was so proud of ds1 who knew all the words too.

ouryve · 18/11/2015 15:50

My severely autistic 9yo trying to be independent. Admittedly, having him put a frying pan on the hob, put oil in it and get himself an egg out of the fridge was as much of an aaargh moment as an aaah moment (and we now have to hide the frying pan because he appears to have also sussed the 3 button sequence for turning the induction hob on) but it's wonderful to see that glimmer of hope that he might not be 100% dependent on adults, all his life.

My joyometer is made of decent chocolate and it scores 4 bars. (Can't be 5 because of the extra grey hairs that have resulted)

PurpleGreenAvocado · 18/11/2015 15:52

My dd has made progress in recovering from an accident and doesn't need an operation after all ChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolate
