We’re pleased to announce that here at MNHQ, we’ve worked with Cadbury to create a shiny new chocolate bar emoticon Chocolate Smile

There are many occasions when a MNer may deserve a chocolate bar, and a moment of joy after your DCs have done something you’re particularly proud of may be one of these key moments. The more joyful the moment, the higher it might rate on the Joy-o-meter.

Cadbury say “What we’ve created in partnership with Mumsnet is a fun addition to the MN emoticon family which allows people to share their love of chocolate and how they feel about it. It’s something we feel passionately about in Cadbury and anything which brings people together in the joy of chocolate is a great moment to be embraced. Of course, we prefer the real thing, but who knows where the future will take these little emoticons so let’s wait and see Wink

So, what have your DCs done in the past couple of weeks that brought you some joy? Maybe your DC made you a cup of tea for the first time? Perhaps you’ve finally succeeded in potty-training? Or maybe your DC has done their homework without you reminding them? How would you rate this moment on the Joy-o-meter: 1 to 5 chocolate bars?

Whatever your moment of joy was, we’d love to hear about it!

Share your stories here, and offer a bit of chocolate to your fellow MNers if you like – everyone who adds a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will receive a £200 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck Chocolate

My DD has declared her 9 year old brother as her best friend at aged 3 - despite the fact she doesn't like boys! This bought huge smiles to our household.

A couple of years ago my son ( about 13 ) bought me a mint aero. There was absolutely no reason other than " I saw this and thought of you", as it is my favourite. Unfortunately, everytime I looked at it I burst into tears, so kept it in my bedside drawer, looking at it regularly. He thought that I didn't like it and when I eventually ate it, it was off

when my teenager actually tells me something umprompted that happened at school, without me having to grill them for any details

Seeing home dressed as the purple king in the Nativity and just avoiding tripping and falling into Baby Jesus!

My 2 year old great niece came to stay with me. She adores my cat Princess & was very upset when she disappeared off into the woods so I told her to go & stand at the kitchen door & shout 'Princess, come on Princess' which she did & Princess came running. Olivia was so delighted that she jumped up & down clapping her hands, it made me smile because she was so happy that Princess had done what Olivia had asked. Olivia then came & had cuddles with me & Princess, I had Princess in my right arm & Olivia in my left arm...bliss :)

jemimapd · 18/11/2015 09:18

If those names are real life they make you a bit identifiable, you may want to get MNHQ to change them for you.

First night sleeping through! For me it was 10/10 on the choc-o-metre

Behooven · 18/11/2015 10:42

My DS is 17 so not overly given to showing emotion. Last week something bad happened in the family. I was in the kitchen on my own just sitting - in he comes, takes a look, leaves. One minute later he comes back and gives me this huge (slightly awkward) hug from behind., then leaves again, not a word said. Lovely moment. Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate

My DD has sensory difficulties and throughout reception could not go into the dinner hall too much input she couldnt cope with but one in sept she ask if she could just stay for lunch not eat but try and sit in the hall. Definitely an amazing day because it changed alot for her that day
