We’re pleased to announce that here at MNHQ, we’ve worked with Cadbury to create a shiny new chocolate bar emoticon Chocolate Smile

There are many occasions when a MNer may deserve a chocolate bar, and a moment of joy after your DCs have done something you’re particularly proud of may be one of these key moments. The more joyful the moment, the higher it might rate on the Joy-o-meter.

Cadbury say “What we’ve created in partnership with Mumsnet is a fun addition to the MN emoticon family which allows people to share their love of chocolate and how they feel about it. It’s something we feel passionately about in Cadbury and anything which brings people together in the joy of chocolate is a great moment to be embraced. Of course, we prefer the real thing, but who knows where the future will take these little emoticons so let’s wait and see Wink

So, what have your DCs done in the past couple of weeks that brought you some joy? Maybe your DC made you a cup of tea for the first time? Perhaps you’ve finally succeeded in potty-training? Or maybe your DC has done their homework without you reminding them? How would you rate this moment on the Joy-o-meter: 1 to 5 chocolate bars?

Whatever your moment of joy was, we’d love to hear about it!

Share your stories here, and offer a bit of chocolate to your fellow MNers if you like – everyone who adds a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will receive a £200 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck Chocolate

My baby is now able to pull up. My joy at his development is tempered by the new fear I have about him bashing his head on stuff. Chocolate for me

DS accepted that I am going back to work full-time. He was not happy at first to put it mildly, but I heard him calmly and patiently explaining the situation to his Granny. Chocolate

I love this emoticon. Good idea!

DS was made captain of the school football team yesterday. He's worked really hard and was up against a number of very good players.

He had expected one of the star players to be promoted but his sports teacher told him that he wasn't looking for the best player but he was looking for someone who always plays fairly, had the respect from the team and could be relied on. Very proud. ChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolate

DD, 3.6, has started counting properly, and seems to be understanding the concept of adding things up. She's always getting things - beads, cheerios, shoes, and counting them in lines or groups & then rearranging them. She does tend to ask for edible things to count though. "Mummy, can I have two marshmallows, and two more marshmallows? I could have four marshmallows." She does ask for Chocolate sometimes as well.

DS (5.5yrs) waited up for me to get back from a work do tonight before he could go to sleep, as he had 'used up all his mummy hugs because Bertie* needed them more than him at school today, and so DS had hugged and hugged and hugged him all break time... So now DS was all empty of hugs and can we snuggle up right now please!'

  • Bertie is a totally made up name to replace the super cool one the boy actually has - it's sooo cool, wish I could share it!

Firstly utterly cute rascal totally got away with staying up late and yes, got a thousand million mummy cuddles :)

Secondly, how proud am I that DS was so kind to his little friend Chocolate

DS realised another boy was sad, then thought of something he could do to make him feel better, then covered him with huggles until it was a game... So proud of him! He's normally the woebegone one and assumes everyone else is happy.

(I'll have the chocolate thank you very much. DS can have the macaroons snaffled from work for him!)...

Sorry to be a downer on all your lovely moments but am I right in saying that this is the first commercially sponsored emoticon on mumsnet?

If it is, I would like to know if there is a click rate for using it.
