To celebrate the re-launch of the Bassetts Vitamins range for all the family, they'd like to hear all about the things you like to do to have fun as a family.

Do check out our the video one of our bloggers made for them

Bassetts Vitamins say "we think family life is all about big puddles, big mud, big adventures, big tree-houses, big imaginations, big games, big days out, big messes, big noises and big fun - now we'd love to hear what fun times you and your family get up to which help you bond".

As the range includes vitamin products for all ages from 6 months, they'd love to hear from you, whatever age your DC are - whether they are teens or toddlers - what do you do to have fun as a family?

Add your comment to the thread and you'll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for John Lewis.

Thanks and good luck.

My family’s activity is to capture memories with a glow,
Walking to the park and meet people we know.
We see the views as far as we can see,
The trees move as the wind passes us.

We watch trains on their tracks,
And they hoot, hoot as they go by,
And the sun beams in the outer sky,
We see dogs taking sticks back to their owners,
But not without giving up a fight, and we see many birds that catch our eye.
As they spread their wings and go by.

We try and spend one day a week together as a family doing something fun rather than housework.

We live in the countryside and we make the most of our local amenities. Last week we visited a local orchard that had an 'apple day' on with apple tasting, juice making and apple games as well as a tour through the orchard.

Another favourite is taking the dog for a walk. We all don our waterproofs and go splashing through puddles and crunching through leaves.

We visit gardens its great for little ones to run about they also get lots of fresh air and mums and dads also get lots of enjoyment you can also invite the gran parents which makes it perfect for everyone.

mumtowoo1 · 21/10/2015 13:47

We love spending a Saturday evenings playing board games.

VaseandCandle · 21/10/2015 13:49

My son is 2 - family fun at the weekend typically involves taking a ball to the park, playing in the leaves and bushes and me chasing him around making stupid noises.

jamielmdjs · 21/10/2015 14:13

The boys love going out on their scooters, weather permitting. Or we play football together.

Inside - movie and pizza night is particularly popular. They love getting the lego out and we all create something too.

justamoment · 21/10/2015 14:35

Getting away from it all in a campervan - wherever you go, for however long you can get so much more quality time together for your money when the accommodation is taken care of.

Natasha7 · 21/10/2015 15:27

We like to go for a walk, geocaching, also we like to play board games and give the winner few sweets as a prize.

Cambam2010 · 21/10/2015 15:46

My son and I like to play video games. It may seem a bit modern to some and like we are not interacting properly as a family but we enjoy the time together. We play Minecraft, Mario Kart, Lego Marvel Superheros. It helps with his reading and is something that he really enjoys.

Play music videos on YouTube and have dance offs in the living room

myusername12345 · 21/10/2015 15:59

Making cakes, and eating them while playing board games together

Shiraznowplease · 21/10/2015 17:20

We love to put on some music and dance around like mad things in the kitchen. Our favourite thing to do is walk along the river which is about two minutes from our house, we take bread to feed the ducks and skim pebbles on the surface. We take snacks and a flask of hot chocolate and sit on a bench or cold drinks in summer

funkyfish586 · 21/10/2015 17:47

We are National trust members & pay monthly which is about £8 a month which I think is fab! We are never stuck for things to do and they always run fab events at Halloween & Christmas. We also love to Geocache which is free :)

jandoc · 21/10/2015 18:04

we have fun painting days

ButtonMoonLoon · 21/10/2015 18:24

We like going out in our wet weather gear to jump in puddles and play in the mud! On sunny days we go to the park for a picnic or to a local farm

sarahbrokenshire · 21/10/2015 19:31

I love baking with my little one, bath time and story time xxx

mumsnit · 21/10/2015 21:23

Going out for walks which usually end up in a cafe having hot chocolate somewhere along the way!

heyday · 21/10/2015 21:51

We love going into the forest with our wellies on and kicking about in the autumn leaves until we are cold and tired. Then it's straight home to snuggle up under the blanket to watch a DVD with hot chocolate and marsh mallows.

seeingdouble2 · 21/10/2015 22:53

we like to do fun things that are free, like visiting local spots and parks, we have had some good fun and best of all it was free!

Titsalinabumsquash · 21/10/2015 23:57

One of our favourite things to do is go on a "last minute adventure" we do this by leaving the house with basics, (juice, snack, nappies for the babies and spare clothes) then we go to the train station or the bus stop and get on which ever comes first, one DC picks how many stops until we get off or decides as we pull into a station that we're getting off there and then the next DC will either say that we're walking in X direction or that we will get on the next bus/ train or we will walk to the nesters park/cafe/library etc. It's quite fun and we've explore places both close and far away from home that we wouldn't normally think of, sometimes if money is tight so we don't have train or bus fair we get in the car and the DCs pick left/right/straight on directions until we fancy stopping.

This works well for any time of day/night too, I've done it at nighttime with flasks of hot chocolate and lots of blankets in the car to find a space to stargaze, and once or twice when it was just me and my older boys and I had some spare money we do rave really far and stopped at a hotel for the night.

It's fun because it's last minute, they get to have the freedom to choose (but with me and DP to guide them if it's not appropriate) they get to carefully weigh up things like the cost of tickets for travel or the time it will take to get to X vs the time it will take to get to Y so they learn whilst having fun. Smile

Can't beat a bit of playfighting!!! Always seem to do rough and tumble with the kids when other half isn't working nights :)

elvisthehamster · 22/10/2015 01:07

We love to go to a seaside village near us , we all go for a walk/scoot along the beach then a play on the playground have an amazing ice cream from the local parlour or chips depending of time of year!

We also like a night in -all in pjs blinds closed , yummy snacks and either one of my or dh's board games that we used to play as a child in the 80's-the kids love the novelty of playing one of our old games!!

juju3 · 22/10/2015 12:03

Playing on the beach and in the sea

popperdoodles · 22/10/2015 14:08

When they were little a walk in the woods or on the beach could last all day. Climbing trees, finding sticks and other stuff for theirs 'collections'. Somebody would normally find a stream or puddle and get wet but that was part of the fun!
Now they are all older family days out are normally around sport or food and it's rare to get everyone together as they have their own things going on. Camping in the summer forces brings us together and we enjoy walk etc together.
