To celebrate the re-launch of the Bassetts Vitamins range for all the family, they'd like to hear all about the things you like to do to have fun as a family.

Do check out our the video one of our bloggers made for them

Bassetts Vitamins say "we think family life is all about big puddles, big mud, big adventures, big tree-houses, big imaginations, big games, big days out, big messes, big noises and big fun - now we'd love to hear what fun times you and your family get up to which help you bond".

As the range includes vitamin products for all ages from 6 months, they'd love to hear from you, whatever age your DC are - whether they are teens or toddlers - what do you do to have fun as a family?

Add your comment to the thread and you'll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for John Lewis.

Thanks and good luck.

We go regularly to our neighbouring forest park for walks and bike rides - great fun! Healthy too.

My children are 3 and 4months. I'm trying to wean my 3yo off the habit of going to a cafe for a treat that we fell into when I was pregnant!
Last Friday we took the buggy to our local National Trust forest to collect leaves to make leaf prints. The baby slept quite a bit so we had a great discussion about the different colours and shapes of the leaves. Lots of squelching in mud. We found a new marked path and followed the loop round, including finding a great climbing tree. We howled with laughter when the buggy got stuck in the mud and leaves were showering on the baby.

We'll do it again... But maybe with the sling next time!

Swings were major attraction

jt75 · 20/10/2015 08:44

We play music together and go for walks along the coast.

finleypop · 20/10/2015 09:03

Our favourite day out as a family is to get on our bikes & go exploring the countryside

strikingstarlet · 20/10/2015 09:13

Camping!! It's not my ideal holiday and you can't always guarantee the weather but we love the freedom it gives for the kids and that they get to spend so much time outdoors!

It's also great for teaching basic survival/self help skills, which not only go in their life skills bank but also means we use team building methods which helps with their confidence, motivation and social development.

Mostly we love cooking out side and eating together as a family and walking in the dark (which the kids love) in our wellies toothbrush and torch in hand!

We used a CADW membership (the Welsh version of English Heritage) to visit ancient historic buildings around Wales. There were often events on such falconry, jousting, mediaeval dances and siege warfare, so it was easy to interpret the old times.

Baking cakes, even the ones from a packet are great if you haven't got enough time to bake from scratch!

Pub quiz, my children are 17 & 19, and enjoy rolling their eyes at us not knowing the current stuff, and staying things like " you know who he is, he's the one from that film with that other one we dont like"

happysouls · 20/10/2015 09:28

We try to make sure that all our family things have something to please everyone, although generally compromises have to be made! If its a day out somewhere then we take picnics and drinks to keep costs down. Generally out walking in a beautiful place, but if kids are around its got to include something for them like playing in mud or rivers, or big piles of leaves or climbing on rocks or trees! We've at times hung up hammocks and made rope swings too. For entertainment at home a planned film night or games night with snacks and drinks and everybodys attention focused (no phones!).

janeyf1 · 20/10/2015 09:30

We play 'Ghost Trains' where we hang loads of dark sheets & covers over tables and chairs and make a dark spooky cave to crawl through

HeySoulSister · 20/10/2015 09:32

Park run on a Saturday and geocaching on a Sunday.... Both free and out in the fresh air! Great exercise

BizziLiz · 20/10/2015 09:41

A picnic at the beach - and to while away the drive down and back we play word games in the car.

sjl19 · 20/10/2015 09:43

We have a family membership to a nearby zoo. We love to go and see the animals, it's great day out as there is always lots to do and see.

createbeauty · 20/10/2015 09:45

When we're not out exploring Sherwood Forest and Thieves Wood, we love to visit Bolsover Castle. If the weather isn't great, we like to be in the kitchen cooking as a family.

cazzzie987 · 20/10/2015 09:47

Go to parks, do finger painting, walking around castles and making cupcakes.

easter1965 · 20/10/2015 09:54

Being on a tight budget its hard to afford to take the kids out on day trips to theme parks and so on but we found that making stuff, whether it's having a friends day where we let the young ones friends come round with their moms, put on some nibbles and coffee and have a fun few hours making cakes and simple things like small pizzas or a crafting day which costs very little as the kids always have loads of stationary and colouring stuff they love it it also gets the moms to mix and get to know each other too

jtl1131 · 20/10/2015 09:54

we love taking walks around cannock chase, playing football over the field and going to the park. we also have days out to local theme parks and to the seaside

phillie1 · 20/10/2015 09:55

Treasure trails(website) - now the kids are a bit older and explore the local villages around us

Zetetic · 20/10/2015 10:00

We like cycling on off road cycle tracks. Loved the coast to coast path in Cornwall. Smile

Elizasmum02 · 20/10/2015 10:04

Me and my daughter really enjoy arts and crafts together, we have a massive book it has about 500 pages of things to make and do, we do one page/item each sunday

JET777 · 20/10/2015 10:10

Hiya - we have 4 children between us aged 8-14 and have just joined the National Trust. Wish we'd done it sooner!! We have had the most amazing fun and seen some beautiful places. We've made rainbow leaf kebabs, played pooh sticks in lovely locations, splashed in streams and enjoyed the odd cream tea. I'd say the best fun we've had though is trying catch the autumn leaves while they fall - simple pleasures that have made memories last for ever. Here are some pics from this weekend :)

We love getting the bikes together and going outdoors on an adventure, we make pack ups and find a nice spot for a picnic, often going by a shop for a little treat. Just being with my kids is a perfect day for me.
