Cadbury Milk Tray are keen to hear from Mumsnetters about the most thoughtful gesture you’ve ever received from a partner.

Cadbury say “The Milk Tray man is back! He’s a caring and daring type, thoughtful yet thrill-seeking, and as ever he’ll go to any lengths to deliver a box of Milk Tray to that special lady. So we’d love to hear from Mumsnetters about the lengths someone has gone to deliver a thoughtful gesture for them.”

Has your partner ever gone the extra mile to make you feel special? Have they surprised you with an out of character romantic gesture or gone above and beyond when it came to thinking of a treat or birthday present for you? Maybe they whipped up a special dinner with all your favourite dishes after you'd had a hard day at work? Perhaps they came along with you to see your favourite band, even though they’re not so keen? Perhaps they’ve done something that to an outsider wouldn’t seem like a big deal, but meant the world to you.

Whatever the gesture, Cadbury would love to hear about it!

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £200 Love2Shop voucher to spend on a treat for someone special.

My step sister insists on having my baby one morning a week. 3 hours! I can have a break, do some cleaning and then have another break! I love her and she has her own family but still helps me out. She's a superstar.

With my first pregnancy I'd gone a little bit crazy buying baby clothes, the first thing I bought was this gorgeous little cream trouser and jacket outfit with teddy bears on that I absolutely loved. Sadly I had a miscarriage and couldn't bear to keep the clothes around as a reminder of what I and had lost so I gave them to my nan to pass on to a relative who was pregnant.

7 years later I became pregnant again and this time the pregnancy was viable and I gave birth to a gorgeous little boy. When he was born my nan handed me a little package wrapped in tissue paper. It was the cream outfit I'd bought for my first. She knew how much that one outfit had meant to me and had kept it all those years because she said she knew I would be a mum one day and she wanted me to see my baby in the outfit.

Coming home to find my friend had cleaned for me. I hadn't been well and hubby was away on tour and the kids were being little pickles - meant the world to me as it meant I could put my feet up and enjoy 10 mins to myself.

We were holidaying in a cottage in Wales and a very thin Jack Russell appeared outside early one morning. We fed her and called the local council who take in stray dogs. A few days later a husband and wife arrived in a car and they turned out to be the owner of the lost dog which had been missing for a week. She turned out to be called Meg and the owners thanked us profusely and gave us a bottle of wine and box of chocolates. I was pleased to have re-united Meg with her owners so the present was more than expected.

I'd had some bad news at the hospital last year and felt devastated. My boyfriend ordered some flowers to be delivered as a surprise.
He told me to go home as he was expecting a package, nothing arrived . In the end he had to tell me the surprise because they never arrived.
he felt awful but I was more than happy that he was thinking of me to do this.
He complained and got the money back but days later the flowers arrived so we were both more than happy.

I lost my childhood Humpty-Dumpty, and my other half found an exact replica for me, I cried when it opened the beautifully wrapped present to find Humpty staring up at me from the box! :)

My dear friend came over to pick me up, took me out for lunch and listened (without complaining!) to me moaning about my life when I was having a really bad time. x

My best friend is currently living in the USA for two years & recently I've been going through a bit of a tough time. The other week I got a parcel of muffins in the post unexpectedly & they were from her to make me feel better. I cried I was so choked up!

When my DH & I were moving house, doing the whole removal ourselves, a friend not only babysat my 2 DD's, but when she dropped them back in the evening, ready for bed, she came armed with a hot chicken chausseur in a slow cooker, with microwaveable veg and rice, desert, wine, crockery, glasses, and cutlery in a basket, knowing we would most likely not have had time to eat (she was right) in case we did not have a connected cooker, or unpacked the kitchen stuff yet. Never has a meal tasted so good or been so welcome ! A truly special friend indeed

After an incredibly busy & tiring day, to be driven home from the station, and to arrive to discover a birthday card and gift nestling on my pillow, silk sheets, a lovely cooked meal ... and all because the lady loves ... (sorry, couldn't resist that last line Smile )

When our DTs were younger they had constant ear infections and we were often stuck at home for weeks on end trying to get them better. A lovely friend left some magazines for me and the children and some flowers on the doorstep. I was really touched and I had the opportunity to pay it forward in the same way when our neighbour had bouts of illness with her DCs and broke her foot while pregnant.
It was the unexpected nature of it that made it all the more special and meaningful.

my train home had been delayed due to flooding, and I had to take three different trains to get home over a 5 hour period. It was incredibly overcrowded and my asthma was affecting me quite badly. A very kind woman noticed me taking my inhaler and gave me her seat.

When I was first married more than 31 years ago and were doing up our doer upper of a house, we had no heating except for a gas fire in the living room. Getting the washing dry was impossible. One day, in early winter (about now time 31 years ago), my Mum, Dad and Brother knocked on the front door carrying a small tumble dryer. It was our early Christmas present! Mum and Dad were not wealthy at all, but had managed to buy an ex display model from Dads work, so he got discount on top and bought it for us. I couldn't believe it and had that massive welling up feeling inside ~ bursting into tears.
I still have the dryer, but earlier this year it started making some awful noises and I had to stop using it. I want to get it looked at in case it can be repaired, but I'm terrified that it'll be a no go and I'll have to get rid of it. I do get attached emotionally to things, but this is so special to me and I can't bear the thought of it not being here.

Oh gosh! I've just remembered another, more recent one :)

Almost 6 years ago, my Dd was just 3 years old. It was thick and heavy snow and we were stuck in traffic for 9 1/2 hours, most of which was on a sparsely inhabited duel carriageway. No one was going anywhere really and engines were off for most of the time except to move up a few feet or to warm up a bit. We were lucky enough to have blankets in the car, but we had no food or drink other than some mints.
After hours sitting there, a local resident (there were only maybe 3 along this part of the road) and her teen daughter came out with hot coffee in a jug, cups, bottled water, biscuits and banana's, handing them out to motorists along the road. I offered her some money, but she refused. I only took a quarter cup of coffee, a couple of biscuits and a banana to share with Dd and refused to take a whole bottle of water, but just a cup full as there were so many other people. I gave her a pack of paper cups I happened to have in the car so that she could make it all go further...What utter kindness from a complete stranger!

My next door neighbour brought me some home-made soup when my mouth was full of ulcers and I could barely talk, let alone eat
