Cadbury Milk Tray are keen to hear from Mumsnetters about the most thoughtful gesture you’ve ever received from a partner.

Cadbury say “The Milk Tray man is back! He’s a caring and daring type, thoughtful yet thrill-seeking, and as ever he’ll go to any lengths to deliver a box of Milk Tray to that special lady. So we’d love to hear from Mumsnetters about the lengths someone has gone to deliver a thoughtful gesture for them.”

Has your partner ever gone the extra mile to make you feel special? Have they surprised you with an out of character romantic gesture or gone above and beyond when it came to thinking of a treat or birthday present for you? Maybe they whipped up a special dinner with all your favourite dishes after you'd had a hard day at work? Perhaps they came along with you to see your favourite band, even though they’re not so keen? Perhaps they’ve done something that to an outsider wouldn’t seem like a big deal, but meant the world to you.

Whatever the gesture, Cadbury would love to hear about it!

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £200 Love2Shop voucher to spend on a treat for someone special.

I have long term ill health and have really struggled to keep on working over the years. I remember speaking to a friend on the phone on a very low midweek evening. I came home on Friday evening and she had cleaned the house, done two washes, put out fresh towels and bedding on the bed. Left a wonderful casserole, candles, wine, magazines and bubble bath. It was so lovely to have everything done and be able to do something enjoyable at the weekend.

a beautiful bunch of deep red roses from my children just to say thanks for being you

My hubby is always very thoughtful but rare are the big gestures. After 11 years together, I don't need extravagant gestures just chocolate and a hot bath. He knows me too well. These pics are what he did for my birthday last year. Chocolate delivery, bath and bubbly and the other mess on the plate was an attempt at breakfast?? 2/3 ain't bad!

After my DC4 died at 37 weeks, unknown to me a good friend started knitting blankets for the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society (SANDS) baby memory boxes as she knew I was getting help from them. After the first ones she gave me the thank you card they had sent her and it had 'thank you for your donation in memory of BabyAugust' - just seeing his name like that was very special.

She also asked them for a collection tin for her shop and 6 years on continues to knit baby blankets. She will never know who much I love her for this.

My other half taking me to the hospital after just recovering from an operation and feeling poorly as well, but accompanying me anyway because I was scared to go alone.

DH is amazingly thoughtful. I get a cup of tea in bed every morning, he does whatever is needed around the house and always says the right thing at the right time. Sad but true!

My husband surprised me with a night away without the kids, probably the only romantic thing he has done - neither of us are very romantic!

The most thoughtful gesture I've received was from my young daughter. She saw me not to wearing the sleepers when walking on cold floor tiles, so she save some money from her paper rounds and bought me a pair. Wonderful thought.

The most thoughtful thing my partner has ever done for me, has to be supporting me through my labour. I had a really difficult labour, which resulted in the room flooding full of people. My baby was born not breathing and I passed out due to blood loss and hemorrhaging. It must have been the scariest time for my partner, luckily my baby was fine. I now have a healthy baby girl but he knew how much I wanted to spend those first moments with her - all i talked about while I was pregnant was holding her for the first time, seeing my partner cut her cord, and her being weighed. Unfortunately I missed all of those things that are so precious, things that can never be replaced. Even though it all must of been terrifying for him, he took a picture of her being weighed, so that I could see it when I woke up. I will treasure that picture forever, because even though I didn't get to meet her till she was 3 hours old, he took a moment to capture it for me knowing how important it was to me.

I was leanring French at home through an open university and one day after coming home from a night shift, I found my Uni tabs open on my laptop.

My wife had been teaching herself french so she could talk to me and help me a long with my studies.

I was really touched

When I was driven in the early hours to what I thought was going to be a shopping trip by coach in the UK, and ended up at Heathrow. When we got to check in I was told I was going to New York - oh my what a shock, I cried tears of happiness as it was totally unexpected!

Being invited to receive an national award months after I had retired. My deputy didn't tell me I was to receive it - she said I would not have enjoyed the evening so much if I had known - she learned well!

My other half does lots of thoughtful things for me...every Sunday he does a full house clean while I am spending time with my Mum, he regularly goes to the shop when I am craving sweets or chocolate plus he gives me massages when I have had a hard day :)
