Cadbury Milk Tray are keen to hear from Mumsnetters about the most thoughtful gesture you’ve ever received from a partner.

Cadbury say “The Milk Tray man is back! He’s a caring and daring type, thoughtful yet thrill-seeking, and as ever he’ll go to any lengths to deliver a box of Milk Tray to that special lady. So we’d love to hear from Mumsnetters about the lengths someone has gone to deliver a thoughtful gesture for them.”

Has your partner ever gone the extra mile to make you feel special? Have they surprised you with an out of character romantic gesture or gone above and beyond when it came to thinking of a treat or birthday present for you? Maybe they whipped up a special dinner with all your favourite dishes after you'd had a hard day at work? Perhaps they came along with you to see your favourite band, even though they’re not so keen? Perhaps they’ve done something that to an outsider wouldn’t seem like a big deal, but meant the world to you.

Whatever the gesture, Cadbury would love to hear about it!

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £200 Love2Shop voucher to spend on a treat for someone special.

I was feeling really poorly and my DH brought me a small box of my favourite chocolates. It doesn't sound much but it made me feel so much better.

I had always talked to my husband about wanting to go to see a musical. One day he gave me an envelope with an appointment for a hotstone massage, a reservation for a cuban meal with cocktails and then tickets for the show WICKED!! Awsome!

My manager at work was told that I received some good customer service and when I came in next time I received a box of chocolates. It made me feel like I was valued

My DH can be really quite romantic when he puts his mind to it. In a previous job, I used to have a 20 minute walk to work. My husband had left early for a business trip and (as usual!) I rolled out of bed after he'd left. As I started my morning plod I noticed a single word on a Post It note stuck to a lamppost. I recognised the handwriting straight away. The next lamppost had another word. He'd got up super early and walked nearly the whole way and back just to leave me a soppy message. I can't remember exactly what it said but I know I still have the dog eared yellow notes in my memories box because I pulled them off as I went past. Might dig them out and remind him how nice he can be Wink

My oldest daughter made me the most thoughtful gift for christmas last year. She bought an a3 drawing pad and backed in lovely suede fabric. She then made a scrap book with each page dedicated to something different. The book started with a page from each member of my family. Ie parents, sisters, nieces and nephews, my close friends and her and my husband. The dogs even had a page. She got each person to write a letter to me then put it in with picture of me with them. Each page had different pictures she had drawn, glitter, ribbons ect and were decorated lovely. She then did a page all about me and a page about me and her with about 50 pictures cut out of us and stuck on. Each page of that was about a special occasion, holidays, days out, birthdays and my wedding. I didn't know she had been keeping things for years like concert tickets, napkins and bar mats ect which she put in.she did about 40 pages and All the drawing and sticking ect must have taken her forever. She said it had taken her 2 months to do. I cried my eyes out when I unwrapped it, it was the most thoughtful thing anyone has ever done for me. She is an amazing daughter and makes me proud everyday xx

My partner spent days carving our initials in a heart on a tree and then took a photo to make into a card which gave me clues to the location where he awaited with wine, glasses, flowers and............... well, it was very romantic!

My mum has always known how much I've been interested in baking and cooking, so she booked me onto a cookery course which I thoroughly enjoyed and took a lot away from. That was the kindest gesture I've ever received :)

matphil · 29/10/2015 22:27

My friend came round and cooked me a meal, cleaned up afterwards and did my ironing for me when I was ill.

When I gave birth the neighbours saw us leave for the hospital, let themselves into our house (spare key for emergencies) and filled our freezer with lovely meals

jamielmdjs · 30/10/2015 00:33

My girlfriend at the time told an elderly neighbour about me. Her husband was Scottish and used to live where I grew up but they moved to Norfolk. He had since passed away but she heard I was an avid fan of my local football team - as was her late husband.

When I went down to visit, I met her and she presented me with a commemorative bathroom tile with the team badge on it (a cherished keepsake of her late husbands). She didn't have to do it but she wanted it to go to someone who would really appreciate it.

Lovely gesture.
