Cadbury Milk Tray are keen to hear from Mumsnetters about the most thoughtful gesture you’ve ever received from a partner.

Cadbury say “The Milk Tray man is back! He’s a caring and daring type, thoughtful yet thrill-seeking, and as ever he’ll go to any lengths to deliver a box of Milk Tray to that special lady. So we’d love to hear from Mumsnetters about the lengths someone has gone to deliver a thoughtful gesture for them.”

Has your partner ever gone the extra mile to make you feel special? Have they surprised you with an out of character romantic gesture or gone above and beyond when it came to thinking of a treat or birthday present for you? Maybe they whipped up a special dinner with all your favourite dishes after you'd had a hard day at work? Perhaps they came along with you to see your favourite band, even though they’re not so keen? Perhaps they’ve done something that to an outsider wouldn’t seem like a big deal, but meant the world to you.

Whatever the gesture, Cadbury would love to hear about it!

My daughter who was 11 at the time helped her 6 year old brother to make me a sock puppet so he had something to give me at Christmas! I treasure it.

DP very occasionally will buy me a bunch of flowers. Such a traditional thing, but really happens to me very little and always surprises and delights me when it does.

After a long shift, I return home to hot water for a bath, and a meal ready for me to eat.

Hmmmm would HAVE to be when hubby came home with some flowers that had been reduced to 25p.... Sounds silly but i was really made up with them, he knew we were skint as it was two of the childrens birthdays that month.... He managed to put a big smile on my face for hardly any cost at all.

My Work colleagues brought me breakfast for "being good at my job" which surprise me but was really nice the day before my holiday :)

We are moving house at the moment and various family members have helped / are helping; without asking - they've offered and we are so grateful

I'd signed up to my first ever 10k race and had put quite a bit of effort into training up for it. Unfortunately, on the day of the race I was far too ill to be able to run. I was really disappointed.

A few weeks later, my partner told me he'd set up my own 10k... he'd planned and drawn out a route round our local area; he timed me and met me a couple of times on the route to take 'race photos'. At the end, he cheered me on over the 'finish line' and presented me with a finishers bag and a t shirt he'd painted on a big logo and my name.

He does stuff all the time for me, but that stands out as one of the most thoughtful things he's ever done.

its small things that are so meaningful, when my loan horse passed, the vet took a lock of his hair and have it to me...it means the world to me.

maureen3733 · 29/10/2015 11:09

had a really awful day at work and returned home to a lovely bubble bath and cooked tea

KittyKat88 · 29/10/2015 11:32

My DH always makes me a cuppa in the morning and rings me at least twice a day too say he loves me. Sometimes it just means the world to know that there is someone who is ALWAYS on your side, no matter what! Smile

I had a rubbishy day a few weeks ago - tough day with the kids, a bird pooped on me, I ripped my fave jeans....was one of 'those' days. Id moaned to my bestie as you do later that evening. She was supportive and made me laugh teasing about the bird poo catastrophe. Next day a wonderful bouquet of flowers were delivered! With the message 'just because' from my bestie. We arent normally big on presents and dont usually do much just the usual a birthday gift and cards etc. This was a huge surprise and totally made my week! Good friends are the best :-)

Hubby bringing me a Chai Latte on my Saturday morning shift

CarolineWard76 · 29/10/2015 16:13

Him saying 'I do'. I know it's a bit soppy, but those words changed my whole life for the better!

My sister in law having my 2 eldest daughters so we could get more sleep after our baby was born, she now keeps offering to have them for sleep overs :)

keshimonster · 29/10/2015 16:26

He picked me up from work one day with my weekend bag packed and took me away to a lovely little B&B in Torquay as a surprise :)

snare · 29/10/2015 16:45

flowers from a stranger :)

Pimmpom · 29/10/2015 17:51

Hubby brings me coffee and brekkie in bed every weekend - I do really appreciate it!

suzyq50 · 29/10/2015 18:07

While recovering in hospital after a minor op, my friend had downloaded all my favourite radio shows on to a mp3 player for me so I wouldn't get bored & help me to sleep.

sweir1 · 29/10/2015 19:21

someone paid for my shopping on the market once. It was only a £5 but still I couldn't believe it

chr1ssy0908 · 29/10/2015 19:23

Its only a little thing but my husband before we married....well we had a massive row and I said I didn't want to see him that evening! I still don't know where he got them from but he bought a tray of the most beautiful cupcakes I had ever seen, popped a poem that he had written in with them (I know he wrote it because....well he can be random!) and left them at my back gate and sent me a text saying he'd left me a gift at the back gate, he was sorry, and he'd hope to speak the next day!

Ferryfairy · 29/10/2015 19:31

My lovely husband makes me a second cup of tea every morning, even when I've let the first one go cold. He runs my bath and wraps me in a towel when I get out. He cooks scrambled egg the way I like it, not how he likes it. He gets my car ready for me to go to work, scraping ice, demisting, switches the heated seats on. He finds a way to treat me every day.

toodles60 · 29/10/2015 19:34

The most thoughtful gift for me was the gift of a kidney from my sister. I remember her being with me when i was told i'd need a transplant and before the Doctor had even finished the sentence telling me i was going on the list she stood up and said with a smile " I'm 2 stone overweight so take one of mine. How much do they weight?" We've laughed together every day since.
