McCain has asked us to find out what Mumsnetters’ favourite family teatime meal is.

Here’s what they say, “5th October sees the launch of the Nation’s Teatimes campaign by McCain, which sees the brand turn real families into teatime TV stars. McCain is asking real families from across the UK to share real life video clips of themselves enjoying their tea on their dedicated hub www.mccainteatime.co.uk. From Monday to Thursday, the family videos from across the country will be edited against the clock into a McCain ’Teatime Today' advert and aired on ITV later that same evening at 8.45pm during a teatime ad-break.”

Whether you eat tea around the table or tucked up on the sofa, from the hectic to the calm, to over in a flash, no matter what teatime is like in your house there is always good stuff happening and it's where some great family moments take place.

So, what’s your favourite family teatime meal? Maybe you love your family pizza evenings when everyone helps to add their own toppings? Do you have a great beef casserole that everyone enjoys? Or is just beans on toast that the family love?! Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it!

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher!

Thanks

Steak and chips. With some veg or salad.

So easy to do. Had it today Grin

lexy444 · 07/10/2015 20:41

Four out of the five of us love a good curry or a proper roast dinner. The fifth and youngest member of the family only really loves burgers or nuggets with McCain's chips. He's got several food intolerances and the luckily their chips are gluten free!

Spirael · 07/10/2015 22:28

Pasta and pesto here. Quick and easy to prep, as well as universally eaten by the entire family!

boptanana · 07/10/2015 22:32

Spaghetti Bol and garlic bread is a winner in our house.

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 08/10/2015 06:53

There are a few favourites in our house. The girls always love macaroni cheese with mushrooms, ham & sweetcorn. Spaghetti bolognese or DIY pizza are the other top two.

IfItIsntOkItIsntTheEnd · 08/10/2015 06:58

Fish fingers, chips & besns!

Prettyinblue · 08/10/2015 07:00

Is this house spag Bol is everyone's favourite.

Wilhamenawonka · 08/10/2015 07:10

We're all enjoyed stroganoff at the moment and meals with cream sauces.

Anything with mash works well too

toptomatoes · 08/10/2015 07:10

Sausage pasta is the big hit here at the moment - homemade tomato and veg sauce blended so they think it's just tomato, sweet corn and spinach mixed in. Bit of cheese on the top and grilled. Served with salad.

Homemade pizza goes down well too, the kids love making faces on theirs with the toppings.

BlackCatSleeps · 08/10/2015 08:15

I can't decide between jacket potatoes, curry or fish fingers (chips and beans).

Although that baked bean pie referred to by a pp sounds great!

elvisthehamster · 08/10/2015 11:10

There are five of us so it can sometimes be tricky for me to find something that everyone will eat and like!
Cottage pie seems to be firm favourite though as does home made make your own pizza night or something fun like Taco's. They seem to enjoy foods that you can build/make up your own.

Oh and Sausages , Chips and beans are always a fail safe with the kids!

Eva50 · 08/10/2015 13:40

Curry, with rice, naan, chips or pakora depending on the mood! Although I have to make two different types to suit everyone.

rupert23 · 08/10/2015 17:43

spaghetti bolognaise with garlic bread and wedges. They also like chips

Nauje · 08/10/2015 17:51

A favourite meal in our house is usually pasta based - something like lasagne with garlic bread always goes down a treat!

DextersMistress · 08/10/2015 18:32

We all love pie chips and peas Smile

slithytove · 08/10/2015 18:55

Home made lasagne, it's a crowd pleaser!
And if I'm feeling generous, a cake for afters

missp0603 · 08/10/2015 19:34

Our favourite family meal has to be homemade pizza. Toddler assists with the dough making and rolls it out. Toppings are laid out on the kitchen top and my toddler helps himself to whatever he prefers. Usually it's chicken, sweetcorn and cheese. ( little does he know that veggies are hidden in the whizzed-up homemade sauce!). And of course, chips are compulsory with pizza, and must be served with 'dippy sauce' ( tomato ketchup).

FingerOFudge · 08/10/2015 19:46

Meatballs! Lots of meatballs, in spicy tomato sauce, with rice. DD2's favourite, but everyone else seems to be be very enthusiastic too. It's a great winter warmer.

sallyst123 · 08/10/2015 19:55

Homemade cottage pie. Always a winner in our house x

Loula117 · 08/10/2015 20:50

Everyone especially loves home made veggie burgers or pizza, roast dinners and toad in the hole, and the kids enjoy what they call 'pick your own', which is effectively a sort of buffet spread with sliced baguette, a pre-roasted chicken from the supermarket, sliced ham, cheese and crackers, various pickles, gerkins, tomatoes and maybe a few grapes and crisps. The latter is supposed to be an 'easy' no cook dinner, but actually takes loads more time getting all the bits out and then clearing the table at the end!

gemima27 · 08/10/2015 20:53

we love pizza and chips as a friday night treat

Lovewhereilive · 08/10/2015 21:45

Roast dinner with yorkshires and gravy

Mintyy · 08/10/2015 21:49

Unfortunately our favourite family teatime meal does not feature any McCain products! I wonder if we will win the voucher Grin.

Ours is fajitas. Chicken or steak. With all the dips and a little bit of salad to make the parents feel that we are doing our bit.

moopymoodle · 08/10/2015 21:55

Sunday roast with all the trimmings!

CopperPan · 08/10/2015 22:15

We love beef casserole, especially slow cooked all day with cheesy mash and green beans.
