Arla have asked us to find out which nutritious smoothie recipes your DC love in the summer.

So, what nutritious summer smoothie recipes do you have up your sleeve? Maybe you make a breakfast smoothie which gives your DCs a brilliant kickstart to the day? Or a fruity ice cream smoothie you treat 'em with on a warm summer’s afternoon? Even better, a veggie smoothie that they're happy to drink - or that you enjoy making for yourself. We’re looking forward to hearing the different things Mumsnetters whack into a blender to create delicious, nutritious smoothies!

Cherries (de-stoned), raspberries, milk and cocoa powder - it tastes like blackforest gateau and is divine! :)

2 frozen bananas, skins removed and cut in chunks
75g (3 oz) blueberries
225ml (8 fl oz) orange juice
1 tablespoon honey (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Blueberry smoothie, particularly good for breakfast!

Strawberries, raspberries, banana, cherries, apple juice and a scoop or two Of frozen yoghurt (or ice cream), blend it all up - awesome!

Strawberry oatmeal smoothie

100 g porridge oats
450 ml natural or flavoured yogurt
240 ml milk
400 g hulled and washed strawberries
2 tsp honey
  1. Place the porridge oats in a blender and process until they are finely ground – this step is essential so that your smoothie has a smooth texture.
  1. Add the rest of the ingredients and process again until smooth. This smoothie has a thick texture, so just adjust with more milk if you prefer more liquid.

Strawberry, Blueberry And Banana Smoothie

1 Cup Strawberries
1 Cup Blueberries
1 Banana
1 Teaspoon Sugar
4 Tablespoons Natural Yoghurt

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and serve with ice.

I love this one
200ml of cranberry juice
175g of frozen raspberries
100ml of milk
200ml of natural yogurt
Sugar to taste
YUM!

Kale, Banana, Strawberries, wheatgerm(powdered form), 1 tsp cacao, 1 tsp organic green powder and oats with Coconut water. The sweetness of the banana sets it off!

Pineapple & Banana Smoothie

makes 1 smoothie

4 ice cubes

1/4 fresh pineapple - peeled, cored and cubed

1 large banana, cut into chunks

1 cup pineapple or apple juice

handful of grapes
1 low fat strawberry yoghurt
