We've been asked by comparethemarket.com to find out about who Mumsnetters' ideal celebrity cinema buddy is.

I think Russell Brand would make a good cinema buddy, as he has a very good sense of humour, and he's good to look at during the adverts too!!!

The new Poltergeist film looks very creepy so I could do with Jennifer Lawrence to keep me safe in the cinema. Helps that she's lovely

I'd say Dawn French, but I could imagine constantly laughing instead of concentrating on the film!

Audrey Hepburn, I could pick up some style tips beforehand, and she seemed like a genuinely lovely person as well as being a beautiful actress.

Andrew McCarthy of Pretty in Pink and Mannakin fame. I had a "thing" for him years ago and he just gets better with age!

Michael Weatherly who plays Dinozzo in NCIS because if he's as funny as the character he plays even if the film turned out to be rubbish, he would make me laugh!

Dawn French. We could share a big bucket of popcorn and have a laugh. Assuming the films a comedy!

David Essex. I love the sound of his voice

John Thaw would be great to watch a detective film with.

Would have to be Norman Wisdom. I always found him funny and interesting.
