We've been asked by comparethemarket.com to find out about who Mumsnetters' ideal celebrity cinema buddy is.

So, if you could buddy up on a trip to the cinema with any celebrity or historical figure, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Jo Brand would be my ideal plus one, she is very funny and interesting we would get along like a house on fire :)

James Corden because we could have a laugh watching a comedy

For me it would have to be Tom Hanks, he's my absolute favourite actor and seems like such a nice guy in interviews etc ! Plus I think he's gorgeous :D

I'd say Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad is my top show and I thought his performance was brilliant throughout. I should imagine he'd be a good laugh too !

Rebel Wilson. She'd make hilarious comments.

I think Jonathan Ross would be brilliant as a cinema buddy...apart from being good fun he has a very good knowledge of films

Dawn French. She'd be great fun to spend time with!

It would be George Lucas. It would be amazing to get an insight into his ideas and how he perceives other directors work.

Been racking my brain but I cannot think of any celebrity I would take instead of my cinema buddy, my son Jorge.

I love listen to him giggle at funny parts, get excited in action scenes and literally be on the edge of his seat during nerve-wracking moments!

No celebrity can compete with that!!

David Bowie because I've always wanted to watch a movie with him.

Mine would have to be Ryan Gosling sheer 'Perfection' but don't think I would catch much of the film though

Clive James - I always enjoyed reading his tv reviews (and still remember that he pointed out that the anagram of 'Poldark' is 'Oldkrap') and am sure that his views on films would be equally entertaining.

my cinema buddy would be Victoria beckham, because I want to see her laugh and laugh with her

Maya Angelou. A warm, witty person with a great sense of humour (I imagine).

Alan Turing - I'd take him to see The Imitation Game, so that he could see that he is now considered a hero, who was treated unforgivably badly.

I would take James Corden. Hes so funny so could have a right laugh with him. Hes cuddley so could have a cuddle whilst watching the film and hes gorgeous too!! My ideal fella!

Victoria Beckham, because she has such a tiny figure that she wouldn't want to share my popcorn!
