The team at Kinder Surprise would like you and your DCs to write your own ending to a story inspired by their new Storymakers website.

Here’s what they say,
“The Storymakers website is all about getting kids’ imaginations flowing, so we look forward to seeing some creative story-endings!”

You'll see, below, that the Kinder Surprise team have started a story and now they're inviting you and your DCs to finish it. Anyone who does (and who sticks to the 'broad rules') will be in with the chance of winning an iPad Mini.

Broad rules:

1. One short paragraph (up to 150 words) per post (you can post more than once, but don't get too carried away)

Here’s how the story begins:

After an action-packed day of adventure, Percy the Parrot arrived home where Laptop was waiting, ready to hear all about it. So Percy decided to write an email about all the places he'd explored and the friends he'd made along the way.

First, Percy the Parrot explored the seaside. "I'm looking for ships," shouted Lighthouse shining his light in Percy's eyes. Then a crab crawled out from the water and started nipping at Percy's toes!

Next, Percy the Parrot explored outer space. "Chasing stars is fun." panted Spacedog. And just as Spacedog said that, a bright shooting star went whirring past. "Make a wish, Percy!" said Spacedog.

Then, Percy the Parrot explored the desert. "Get your cold drinkssss here shouted Lizard. "Apple juice please?" said Percy. "I only have beetle juice," replied Lizard. "Yuck! said Percy, flying off into the distance. Lizard shrugged. "More for me!" he said, slurping down the lot.

Finally, Percy explored under the sea, where he met Starfish...

Starfish was hiding in some seaweed. "What's wrong?" asked Percy. Just then a seagull came diving into the water, trying to eat Percy! "I think he has bitten off more than he can chew this time!" cried Percy, as he zipped out of the water and gave the seagull a peck with his parrot beak. "Thank you Percy" said starfish, who gave Percy an underwater high-five.

"I love to collect shells" said Starfish. She gave one to Percy and told him to hold it to his ear. "I can hear the waves!" said Percy, "Now I will be able to remember my adventures forever!"

"Ouch" said starfish as he landed on the sea bed. "All you had to do was lend us the canoe to get across the ocean" he shouted at willow the whale. Percy stood there watching the starfish in amazement. "What a brave thing to do. weren't you scared?" Starfish looked at Percy and replied "ah well you only live once". Percy heard a large cheer from behind as all the sea creatures were thanking sea star as he was known. Sea star and Percy talked for hours sharing their adventure stories. Percy laughed so much and thought I've found a friend for life.

"Hello, Starfish," said Percy, "how are you today?"
"Well, I was happy, but I've lost my chocolate egg. Can you help me find it? It's chocolate time and I'm peckish!", replied Starfish.
Percy flapped his wings and nodded. "Of course I'll help you," he said. Over the coral reef they went, but it wasn't there. For miles and miles they swam, searching in the seaweed, under rocks and inside caves, but alas, no. Percy turned to Starfish and sighed. "It's not anywhere! When did you see it last? Try to think back. What were you doing?"
"Well. My mummy Starfish gave me the egg. I pushed it because the toy inside made it heavy, so I left it at... home! Oh, silly me. Would you like to share it with me?"
Percy laughed. "Thank you for taking me around your ocean, and I'd love to share your chocolate".

"Percy, am I glad to see you" shouts Starfish! "The baby crabs I've been looking after are missing, have you seen them?" "Yes" says Percy, "they were playing on the sand, I saw those pesky seagulls circling them". "Oh no" wails Starfish, "what shall we do"!? "I know" says Percy "jump on my back and we can rescue them together". Together Percy and Starfish flew to the beach and found an old fishing net. "Quick" said Percy "grab that net, now grab the babies". Starfish scooped up the little crabs. "Weeeeeee this is fun" squealed the babies as they flew through the air.
Splosh back into the sea they all landed safely. "Thank you" said Starfish "you saved the day, please stay and have some delicious algae with us". "Errrr, no thanks" said Percy "I must be going now, bye Starfish".

The star fish looks quit shy so she desids to say Hi and get to meet her better.Hello starfish my name is Percy I came to explore the magical sea world ,you must all the sea and had a lot of adventurous.

Percy and star fish start walking in the see Percy saw a lot of plants that she never saw before had a ride on dolphin and saw more animal she didint knew existed before.They had lots of fun but it was getting late and it came the time Percy had to go hope to meet you again said Percy thank you for the lovely day

Percy and Starfish swam together in the magical sea, looking for pirate ships and treasure on the bottom.

"Look, Percy!" said Starfish, "Look over there, can you see it? it's a pirate ship!"

Percy and Starfish swam towards the ship they could see, through the blue water and waving seaweed.

When they got there, there was a old chest full of treasure. What fun, how exciting, they opened the chest and saw a dragon egg sitting on top of the treasure.

Starfish was lazing in a rock pool. 'Do you have any water?' asked Percy the Parrot. 'Lizard only had Beetle Juice and I am thirsty'. 'Of course' replied the friendly Starfish fetching a beaker. Percy drank the cool, fresh water. 'Thank you!' he said. 'let' be friends!' And then Starfish and Percy went off together to find adventures in the wide blue ocean.

Erm...why does this bounce around between past and present tense? And why are there question marks at the end of statements?

I would love to win an i-pad but this story is just too awful to complete! Do people actually get paid by Kinder to write that nonsense???????!!!!

Percy was amazed by Starfish, she was as beautiful as the shooting star he had seen with Spacedog, but closer and more friendly. Alas like the shooting star, Starfish was silent, but she communicated through her friendly shimmer and excited dancing.

Percy told her all about his adventures and how his wish of new friends and fun had come true. He showed Starfish how the shooting star had soared and they danced together, leaping and swooping until Percy collapsed laughing. As he described meeting Crab, his toes were nipped and Crab reappeared to take him back to Laptop whilst he could still remember the fun he'd had, the friends he'd made, and all their email addresses! "Goodbye" they cried, waving to the soaring and swimming stars.

Lighthouse, Lizzard, Spacedog and the stars all laughed as they watched the bazaar flying, swimming, winged, clawed crab parrot head home.

Starfish was shocked, never having seen a bird before. 'How are you surviving underwater?' starfish asked Percy. 'I have some amazing breathing apparatus developed by NASA, it also works in space' said Percy. Starfish was amazed. He had seen fish with beautiful colours before but never a creature with feathers. Starfish offered to show percy around. They swam deep down to the depths of the ocean where they found bizarre creatures living in the pitch dark around the hydrothermal vents. Neither of the creatures has seen anything like it before. These creatures had never see the sun and got their energy from the volcanic activity and chemicals found deep under the sea.

Starfish gave a wide grin,'I've been waiting for you as Ive been stuck here at the bottom of the sea and I want to visit my family' . Percy knew how he felt and he clutched Starfish in his beak and flew him out of the sea up to the stars in the sky, where Starfish danced with his star family and was able to see the whole world.

Starfish glowed and shimmered in the sea pointing to Coral. What's that? asked Percy the Parrot. Coral reefs are built by colonies of tiny animals said Starfish and we need to look after them. Percy followed the line of coral and there at the end was a treasure chest filled with every type of Kinder chocolate, Percy asked all the sea creature to help him retrieve the treasure

“Help me search for pearls?” begged Starfish. “Sorry,” replied Percy, “I want to see the old shipwreck!”. “You’re on your own, Percy,” trembled Starfish, “that place is spooky!” Percy grinned, he wasn’t afraid. He boldly entered the wreck. Tiny fish sparkled and darted about in the gloom. Suddenly they all disappeared and Percy became aware of something behind him. Something ENORMOUS. It was Giant Squid. “Who are you?” boomed Giant Squid. “I’m P P Percy,” stammered the frightened little bird, “please don’t eat me!” Giant Squid stared at Percy, then his tentacles began to shake, and he roared with laughter. “I don’t want to eat you, I want to be friends. It’s terribly lonely here.” “Friends?” cried a relieved Percy, “that would be wonderful”. “Then it’s settled,” smiled Giant Squid, “but do tell me, what kind of fish are you?”
“Oh I’m not a fish,” squawked Percy, “I’m a parrot!”

"Hello starfish" sqwarked Percy happily. "My names Cynthia, pleased to meet you Percy, I don't suppose you would be kind enough to help me look for my arm would you? you see I'm meant to have five arms and ive counted them and I must have lost one because I can only count four" she said sadly. " Don't be sad Cynthia" exclaimed Percy. "Starfish are clever and can grow another arm, you don't need to look for it, you can smile and be happy now".

Have you seen my friend Molly the Mermaid asked Starfish. Starfish was looking for Molly as she had lost one of her missing pearls from her beautiful necklace. Percy felt sorry for Starfish and offered to look for Molly together so they could reunite the missing pearl. 'Let,s look in the bubbly wavepools' said Percy, and with his beautiful singing voice he began to call Molly,s name.
From below the foamy waves a little face appeared. There was a tear running down her face. It was Molly! 'Im looking for my missing pearl and I cannot find it' Molly said sadly.
Ta Da!! tweeted Percy, and opened his large beak to display the most magnificent pearl shining brightly in the shining sun. Percy had found the missing pearl in the rockpools and kept it in his beak for safekeeping. Molly was happy and gave Starfish and Percy the biggest hug ever. ' You are my heroes' said Molly. 'And the best friends ever'.

"Hi starfish", "hi" she said, pulling a confused face. "Do you need help?", "Yes please" said Percy. "What with?" said starfish... "This riddle, i found it in San FranFishco Town carved into the back of the mayors statue". It said 'You can see it but it is also clear?'. Percy took this riddle into consideration, but couldnt think of an answer, so Percy went on an exploration to find the answer to the riddle. Percy tried everywhere and nobody knew the answer. Percy gave up, he sat on the park bench as the sun was setting. He had a long think, he was humming the riddle in his head, when suddenly the answer popped into his head "Water!!!" He flew to starfishes reef and told her the answer. Whilst Percy closed his Laptop, he learnt never to say never again.

"Lets go on a pirate adventure!" exclaimed Starfish. Percy the Parrot used to travel the Seven Seas with his old friend Captain Red Beard, who had given him an old map. "X Marks the Spot!" he told Starfish as he found the map from behind his wing, and they swam to the bottom of the sea together to see what they could find. There they found a gigantic treasure chest full of gold, silver and CHOCOLATE!

"This has been the best day ever!" Said Percy to Starfish when they got back to shore with their goodies and started chomping their chocolate. "I can't wait to tell my friend Laptop all about it."

Then he waved goodbye and flew back to his house. He was tired but happy, and ready for a good nights sleep, where he would dream of all the new adventures he could have in the morning...

Oops, just read the rules again about 1 paragraph, here's ours:

Percy and Starfish were excited about the chance to explore the coral reef where shy fish peeked out from behind fronds of seaweed. They wanted to dance with the jelly fish that waved their tentacles in the warm currents. They wanted to scuttle sideways like crabs and to practise hiding in small holes like the blue fish that darted past. But,Percy was a parrot - at home in the sky, in the trees and on the Earth. He could only stay under the water long enough to see the watery treasures of Starfish's world, admire them, and then burst back up to the fresh air and fly home to share his adventures and dreams with the rest of us.

"Hi starfish, im Percy the parrot, do you know where I can buy a bucket and spade?" chirped Percy to the starfish. "Hi Percy" the starfish replied, "That way to the shop" and pointed in the direction he should go."But which direction is the right one?, starfish have five arms so I don't know which way you're pointing to!" laughed Percy.

"What are you doing down here Percy?" Starfish said alarmingly. "Oh me I'm just having a look around".

Starfish suddenly went pale as a ghost and asked "How quick can you fly with them wings there?", "I'm quick as the speed of light me" he replied.

"GOOOOD...." shouted starfish jumping onto Percy's back, "BECAUSE THERE'S A SHAAAAAARK."

Percy glanced over his shoulder and saw a big grey shark heading right towards them. With that he shot up like a rocket with Starfish hanging on for dear life.

Percy and Starfish landed safely on the beach quivering nervously and went to get an ice-cream.

"You know Starfish I made a wish earlier for something exciting to happen"

"Hmm...be careful what you wish for next time!" laughed Starfish.

Percy asked the starfish if he was a fish or a star.

"I've never seen stars" said the starfish, "I've lived in the water all my life".

"I can show you" said Percy.

Together they flew into the sky. The sun shone on the water droplets clinging to the starfish.

"Look, I twinkle like diamonds" shouted the starfish and he and Percy sang together.

"I like collecting sea shells, I have a huge collection at home" said Starfish. She gave a beautiful sparkly one to Percy and told him to hold it up to his ear. "I can hear the sea!" said Percy, "Now I will always be able to remember our adventures, just by listening to my sea shell!"
