The team at Kinder Surprise would like you and your DCs to write your own ending to a story inspired by their new Storymakers website.

Here’s what they say,
“The Storymakers website is all about getting kids’ imaginations flowing, so we look forward to seeing some creative story-endings!”

You'll see, below, that the Kinder Surprise team have started a story and now they're inviting you and your DCs to finish it. Anyone who does (and who sticks to the 'broad rules') will be in with the chance of winning an iPad Mini.

Broad rules:

Here’s how the story begins:

After an action-packed day of adventure, Percy the Parrot arrived home where Laptop was waiting, ready to hear all about it. So Percy decided to write an email about all the places he'd explored and the friends he'd made along the way.

First, Percy the Parrot explored the seaside. "I'm looking for ships," shouted Lighthouse shining his light in Percy's eyes. Then a crab crawled out from the water and started nipping at Percy's toes!

Next, Percy the Parrot explored outer space. "Chasing stars is fun." panted Spacedog. And just as Spacedog said that, a bright shooting star went whirring past. "Make a wish, Percy!" said Spacedog.

Then, Percy the Parrot explored the desert. "Get your cold drinkssss here shouted Lizard. "Apple juice please?" said Percy. "I only have beetle juice," replied Lizard. "Yuck! said Percy, flying off into the distance. Lizard shrugged. "More for me!" he said, slurping down the lot.

Finally, Percy explored under the sea, where he met Starfish...

Percy told Starfish 'You're very pointy and like a star in the shining sky'
'Oh thank you I do actually look like a star and I do like my points said Starfish' They both explored the sea together then Percy said 'I must be off to my next adventure' Percy flew off to the Jungle where he met a lady Parrot called Rosy and they fell in love.

"Just the Parrot I wanted to see," said Starfish, "I've lost my treasure, Percy, and I can't seem to find it anywhere. "Oh no!" said Percy the Parrot. "I think your treasure is hiding. Where could it be?" Percy had spent a few years aboard the great ship Bubbles with a pirate called Pegleg and knew all about finding hidden treasure. The two friends spent the rest of the afternoon diving under rocks and pushing seaweed apart when finally, "I see it!" shrieked Starfish. Poking out from an empty shell, not far from where they had been looking, was a shiny golden ring. "That's my treasure," said Starfish, "my mother gave me that ring and I was so sad that I had lost it. Thank you for helping me, Percy!" Percy the Parrot waved goodbye to his friend and felt good that he could be kind and helpful.

"Hello Starfish", said Percy. "Hello", said Starfish in a happy voice. "It's nice to meet someone new to play under water games with!" They both had lots of fun swimming around and giggling. Percy realised it was time to go home. Starfish waved goodbye using all his arms. "Goodbye", said Percy-it was so much fun meeting you!

“Would you like to see something amazing” said Starfish.
“Ooo yes” said Percy, excited to find out what it was.
Percy followed Starfish through a secret opening in an under-sea cave. When they reached the far end of the cave Percy could hear the sound of beautiful music and laughter. It was an under-the-sea party being held in honour of the King of the seas. King Shark was ruler of all the seas; he was a caring and friendly shark and welcomed Percy to his party. After eating the most delicious foods he had ever tasted, Percy danced with the Starfish, Clams, Oysters and Sharks until it was late. All of his new friends waved as Percy made his way back through the cave. It was now time for Percy to head home after his fun-filled adventure.

"Are you a fallen star?" asked Percy.
"What do you mean?" replied Starfish.

"Have you fallen from the sky?"
"I don't think so." said Starfish. "I have always lived here, in the sea. I see stars above me at night and sometimes I do wonder - am I a star or a fish? And I think I am neither. But sea is where my family are. It is my home. I might be a star on the outside, but inside I feel more like a fish. I could not live in the sky. I would not know how."
Percy looked engrossed in his thoughts for a few seconds, then he exclaimed - "You could show me around!" Percy and Starfish went on a tour around the sea. There were many wonderful things there, which Percy will never forget. He will never forget any of the amazing things that happened that day. He wrote it all down in his email which he then sent to himself.

"I’m not really a fish, I’m a star – the star of the seas", the starfish said. "I know I’m pretty, but I’m not as colourful as you. I wish I had some of your lovely bright green to wear”.

“I know!” said Percy the Parrot, “I’ll get you some of that bright green seaweed that I’ve seen growing over there, and then you can drape it round you and be bright and green like me”.
And they did, and the starfish was very, very happy.

“It’s time for me to go now”, Percy said to his smiling starfish friend, and she waved goodbye with all her arms.

"Aren't stars supposed to be in the sky?" asked Percy.
"Not starfish, we live under the sea, but it's just as big and just as blue as the sky!" replied the Starfish. "Would you mind helping me look for something?" the Starfish added.
"Ok, what are we looking for?" asked Percy.
With a sad sigh the starfish said "I've lost an arm, I should have 5, but I've only got 4! My Mum says it will grow back, but it feels very strange!"
"Let's go find it!" shouted Percy.

And off they went...

Lily and I were on holiday and suddenly saw a friendly looking parrot sitting a bright banana tree.

Lily cries "Look, Mummy - a parrot, a real parrot!', 'What's your name?'

"Percy" the parrot laughs, "Percy Parrot"

"And where do you live Percy, and where are your friends?" says Lily, intrigued

"They live over the rainbow, just over there" Percy squarks, a points with his bright feathers. "Would you like to see them?"

"Ooh yes!" Lily says, full of excitement.

Percy parrot lowers his left wing, Lily grabs on, and they fly away to the magical land beyond the rainbow...

The Starfish started to sing a song!
"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star-fish.....Oh hello! I'm Suky, who are you?" Asked Suky.
Percy smiled at Suky."I'm Percy, and I love your song! Wish I could sing like you!"
Suky laughed. "Just join in Percy!"
And he did!
But soon, Percy had grown tired, and wanted to go home for his dinner! So he said goodbye to Suky, and he flapped his colourful wings, and flew back home, where his Mummy had made him a chocolate Milkshake, his favourite! He drank it up, and then went to sleep! Zzzzzzzzz! Night Night Percy!

The Starfish looked sad.
"Oh, whatevers wrong?" Asked Percy.
"I want to be a real star! Look how BEAUTIFUL they look up in the sky, while I'm stuck down here, all boring and ugly." Cried the Starfish.
Percy hugged the Starfish. "No, you are the most beautiful Starfish I have ever seen! And the most interesting!"
"Really?" Asked the Starfish."Ohh thank-you! My names Boo! Whats your name?"
"Percy! Nice to meet you Boo! But I have to fly, its dinner time! I'll come and see you again soon!" And off Percy flew, happy he had made so many wonderful new friends. He couldn't wait to tell everyone back home!

Starfish told Percy that he used to live in the sky but had fallen asleep at night which made him fall and fall and fall until he landed in the sea. The water had turned off his glow. Percy knew just the trick to help Starfish get back into the sky. He made an underwater catapult from some seaweed and helped position Starfish and with one almighty pull Percy catapulted Starfish back into the sky. As he left the water Starfish began to glow and regained his lovely smile.

"Come and sit on my rock, The Clown Fish are about to start their show" said the starfish. Percy the parrot quickly sat down next to the starfish just as a group of clown fish swam out with bright and colourful faces and big red noses.
One of the clown fish was riding on the back of a Seahorse doing great tricks.
Another clownfish was holding open the mouth of a lion fish and putting his head into its giant mouth.
High above the seabed on a long piece of seaweed stretched between two tall columns of coral balanced the clown fish tightrope walker. He was doing amazing acrobatic tricks on the thin seaweed tightrope.
As the show came to an end the clown fish gathered and gave a bow. The starfish gave a big round of applause by clapping his many arms together while Percy the Parrot squawked and flapped his wings together in appreciation and the wonderful things he had seen.

Finally, Percy explored under the sea, where he met Starfish…

Sally, she was a very pretty starfish with lots of legs. She asked Percy how many other fish he could see, he started counting but soon lost count there were far too many! He thought he better go home now as mummy parrot was cooking dinner, so he said goodbye to Sally and all the fishes and promised he would come back tomorrow.

Laptop enjoyed hearing about Percys adventures and asked if next time he could go too!

Starfish was busy looking for out for his friend Wally the Whale, so that they could have a whale of a time together playing deep on the ocean floor and also jumping high out of the water to see the bright blue skies. Percy the Parrot thought this sounded great fun and excitedly waited to join in! When Wally arrived Percy & Starfish hopped on his back and Wally swam fast up towards the surface where with a huge jump and a splash he leapt high into the air! "Ive never flown this way before" said Percy. "Its so much fun!"

Percy the parrot waved at the starfish and in return the starfish waved with all 5 of it's hands. Percy jumped with excitement and started singing, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". Starfish joined in with the rhyme and then said, "goodbye".

Starfish said "will you help me? I have a difficult challenge to solve.
The starfish begins to let Percy Parrot into his plan to find hidden treasure and that he must find 4 letters scattered around the ocean. He must then put them together to make a word.
So off they go searching the ocean when they come across a h. "Excellent" said starfish" lets keep going"
They soon find a s under a shell a f sicking out from under a heavy rock and then the letter i in a spooky cave.
"Lets see if we can solve the puzzle" said Percy Parrot. "Its Fish" said starfish.
Just then a secret cave opened revealing the treasure. Starfish and Percy parrot filled there pockets as much as they could and then suddenly realised that some was chocolate coins "yum" said Percy this make it even more worth while!

"Hi", said Percy to the sad looking starfish. "What's wrong?". "My home has been ruined because of oil in the sea" Starfish replied glumly. "How about you take me to your home and I can help you?" Percy suggested. and they swam down to a shipwreck covered in black, sticky oil. "This is worse than I imagined!" exclaimed Percy. "Luckily I know a magic sea spell to help". "Starfish, starfish shining bright, do your magic and make everything alright!". Starfish began to quiver and rainbow coloured lights shot out from each of his tentacles, covering the shipwreck in a weird, shimmering mist. Then, in blink of an eye the oil disappeared! "Wow- thank you Percy!" said starfish, "Amazing, now I have my home back!". "No problem" said Percy, "Now would you help me cleaning up the rest of the ocean?" Percy asked . "Of course! . And so the new friends did.

Percy noticed the Starfish was dressed like a pirate. The Starfish explained 'Don't be scared Percy, for I am a good pirate, oh arr and I'm here to protect the treasure from those pesky pirate sharks'. Percy and the Pirate Starfish hatch a plan to trick the pesky pirate sharks into leaving Shipwreck Bay and into the hands of The Desert Island Police Force. They decide to send Percy out into the ocean with an empty treasure trunk, and sure enough the pesky pirate sharks follow Percy all the way to the desert island. The leader of the Pirate Sharks clan roses and rubs his fins together, "Oh aarrrr! Yo ho I've got you now Parrot!! Hand over the treasure!". Just at that moment the

Percy noticed that the Starfish was dressed like a pirate. The Starfish explained, "Don't be scared, for I am a good pirate, oh arr, and I'm here to protect the treasure from those pesky Pirate Sharks". Percy and the Pirate Starfish hatch a plan to trick the Pirate Sharks into leaving Shipwreck Bay straight into the hands of the Desert Island Police Force. They decide to send Percy out into the ocean with an empty treasure chest and sure enough the Pirate Sharks follow Percy all the way to Desert Island. The leader of the Pirate Sharks rubs his fins together, "Ohh aarr! I've got you now Parrot! Hand over the treasure!!". Just at that moment, the Desert Island Police Force arrive and arrest all the Pesky Pirate Sharks! Percy and the Pirate Starfish jump for joy! Shipwreck Bay is safe! Percy and the Pirate Starfish become the best of friends!

"Howdy Starfish," Percy greeted. "What did you make for me today?"

Starfish jumped around excitedly and began dancing to a fishy tune.
"Oh you won't believe what magic I discovered for you Percy! You'll definitely be returning to give me my favourite cheesecake. Mhmm! I can taste it in my belly already"

"Please stop dancing. It's really gross. What is it?", Percy asked.

Starfish bent down and picked up a shell-like object. He carefully handed it over to Percy. Percy stared at it in awe before he slowly opened it up and inside he saw beautiful pearls. He began to cry.

"Do you know how expensive these are? Why did you give them to me?", Percy questioned.

"Don't be silly", Starfish said. "You're my best friend. You're worth more than those pearls. I do want my cheesecake though, best friend or not."

Percy had never seen a Starfish before. 'wow!' he said, 'how do you eat with all those arms and legs?' Starfish laughed and leapt upright, so percy could see her smiling happy face. 'Look,' she said and picked up a piece of chocolate from the floor with one of her arms, putting it neatly in her mouth! Percy was really impressed, but not too happy that the chocolate had all gone! Never mind, he thought, think of all the new friends I have made today!

Sally she had got stuck under a rock. Percy pushed the rock with his break and Sally was free. Thanks Percy said Sally, would you like to come to my sea party?
Percy was excited and off they went for some fun.

Finally, Percy explored under the sea, where he met Starfish who was sat with octopus. Percy joined them for a lovely meal of egg on toast and then went for an evening swim in the seaweed. 'Bye friends, see you soon' Percy said as he started to make his way home.

Starfish said "Hello Percy, Do you want to play a swimming race with me and whoever wins gets a gumball prize."
Percy liked this idea so much and he thought he would win, it turned out to be true....
So Starfish gave Percy a gumball prize, but Percy liked to share so he chopped it in half and gave one half to Starfish and kept one half for himself and flew away happily.
