The team at Kinder Surprise would like you and your DCs to write your own ending to a story inspired by their new Storymakers website.

Here’s what they say,
“The Storymakers website is all about getting kids’ imaginations flowing, so we look forward to seeing some creative story-endings!”

You'll see, below, that the Kinder Surprise team have started a story and now they're inviting you and your DCs to finish it. Anyone who does (and who sticks to the 'broad rules') will be in with the chance of winning an iPad Mini.

Broad rules:

1. One short paragraph (up to 150 words) per post (you can post more than once, but don't get too carried away)

Here’s how the story begins:

After an action-packed day of adventure, Percy the Parrot arrived home where Laptop was waiting, ready to hear all about it. So Percy decided to write an email about all the places he'd explored and the friends he'd made along the way.

First, Percy the Parrot explored the seaside. "I'm looking for ships," shouted Lighthouse shining his light in Percy's eyes. Then a crab crawled out from the water and started nipping at Percy's toes!

Next, Percy the Parrot explored outer space. "Chasing stars is fun." panted Spacedog. And just as Spacedog said that, a bright shooting star went whirring past. "Make a wish, Percy!" said Spacedog.

Then, Percy the Parrot explored the desert. "Get your cold drinkssss here shouted Lizard. "Apple juice please?" said Percy. "I only have beetle juice," replied Lizard. "Yuck! said Percy, flying off into the distance. Lizard shrugged. "More for me!" he said, slurping down the lot.

Finally, Percy explored under the sea, where he met Starfish...

Starfish invites Percy into his underwater cave for a picnic. They sat down on chairs made of sand and ate ice creams together. Suddenly, Percy heard a noise, he looked round and saw a crab scuttling towards him. 'Hello there' said the crab, 'My name is Carmen. Mind if I join you?' 'Please, sit down' said Starfish, offering Carmen an ice cream.
There was a rustling sound, and a jellyfish swam in to join them. 'Hi everyone!' said jellyfish, 'Who wants to play musical bumps?' I've brought whale with me to make the music for us.
They all played musical bumps together under the sea until it was time to go home for tea.

The starfish, who's name was Cedric, asked Percy to swim with him to an underground cave.
"I've got something special to show you" he said.
"what is it?" replied Percy.
"come and see" said Cedric.
They swam together and Percy was amazed by what he saw, a sunken ship filled with treasure.
"wow" said Percy as his eyes lit up. It's so pretty".
" I know" said Cedric.
"Here, you can have this piece to keep and remember me by" said Cedric. "Thank you" said Percy.
On his way back to the surface, Percy collected some shells and had a ride on a dolphins back.
Back at his laptop Percy typed his last words and then looked down at the beautiful red gem that Cedric had given to him. I will remember you and will treasure this forever.

Percy made friends with Starfish and then they found a sunken Pirate ship! They went inside to see if they could find anything. They found a chest with two keys inside, so they went looking around for locked chests that they needed keys for, but they only found the chest with the keys. Percy asked Starfish, "What shall we do now?" Starfish said "First, we should find a name for me!" Percy said, "Hmmm, which name could we go with? How about Steve?" Steve loved his new name. They swam out of the ship to check if they could see any chests on the surface. A few minutes later, they found a chest! They used the key to open the chest and they found 200 euros in the chest, and some gold. Percy took the money, and Steve took the gold. "Come and visit me some time!" said Percy.

Percy told Starfish he was on an adventure, "Come with me" said Starfish, "I'll show you something magical" Starfish led Percy down to a sunken pirate ship and hidden between some barrels was a chest. Percy slowly opened it, it was full of gold coins and diamonds. Starfish showed Percy a mirror, "it's a magic mirror, take it he said". Percy took the mirror and swam back to the beach where he thanked Starfish and said goodbye. Whenever Percy looks in the mirror he remembers what a fun day he had with all his new friends.

Starfish gives Percy a magic snorkel, and they zoom down to the ocean floor. 'Just in time for the dance!' says Starfish, as a shoal of sparkly fish swims past. 'Take a partner!' An angler fish shines a spot light. He grins at Percy with enormous teeth. Percy dances with Starfish until the water begins to feel cold. 'Back to the surface!', Starfish calls. 'The sharks take over now. Byeeee everyone!'

"Hello, you're new, I've never seen you before," greeted the starfish.
"Oh, hi, I'm here because I like exploring," Percy explained happily to starfish.
"My name is Stanley, I've been living in the ocean for twenty years, so I know where everyone lives," said the starfish.
"Wow, would you show me?" Percy asked.
"Why, of course, I love touring animals around the ocean," Stanley replied.
Stanley showed Percy around the ocean, where the fish live and where the sharks live (they were very careful around the sharks).
They had a brilliant time, until Percy had to go home.
"Well I hope you enjoyed the tour," waved Stanley.
"Goodbye Stanley," said Percy and he swam home.

"Hello pretty little Starfish" said Percy, happily. But Starfish was scared.
"What's wrong?" asked Percy...
"I'm scared. I've heard all about you birds, and you're gonna eat me" cried Starfish..
"I don't eat Starfish, I don't eat any fish... I eat tablets. I may look big and scary but I wouldn't hurt anybody"
Percy backed away, he was very upset...
Starfish called after him "I'm sorry, I just don't see many nice Birds round here, just the ones that want to eat me, why did you come?"

"I was looking for food, but not the food you think, just asprin" said Percy..
"But why are there no asprin in the jungle?" Asked starfish.
"Because the Parrots eat 'em all! Get it? Paracetamol" said Percy.
They laughed so much, "Hahahaha, I see what you did there!" said Percy
And they became best friends after that.....

Finally, Percy explores under the sea, where he meets Starfish...

"Hi there" says Percy, "are you not all wrinkly from this seawater?". "No, of course not" laughs Starfish. "The ocean is a beautiful place to live in. Lots of beautiful fish swim by my sandcastle every day, and yesterday a great big treasure chest nearly landed on top of me. I've tried to open it, but don't have anything sharp to get it open. Can I use your beak." "Why of course, let see what's inside". Percy and Starfish eventually managed to break the lock free, and guess what they found inside? It was filled with Kinder Surprises.

Sorry, but agree with Remus. It is the most dull story ever. It won't stop us buying kinder eggs, but really.

"It's magical on the seabed" shouted starfish and Percy decided to have a look. Well Starfish was right, as soon as Percy plunged into the water he saw glittering stars and a fairy appeared. She granted Percy one wish. Percy was so tired by then all he wanted was to be wrapped up in bed back home so in an instant he was snuggled up in his bed with his favourite teddy and shawl ready to go to sleep. "What a great day" thought Percy and he fell fast asleep. In the morning he wondered if he had dreamed it but as he took off his socks he found lots of sand on his feet and a crab jumped out his shoe!!!

“Hello Starfish”, smiled Percy.
“SHH! Hide quickly”, shouted the starfish.
But before Percy could think, he saw a giant squid heading towards them. Without wasting time, the star fish cut one of its arms, jumped on Percy back and asked him to fly.
Percy flew as high as he could and landed safely on a rock. “That was close” Percy shrugged, looking at the starfish arm.

The Laptop stopped typing. He was shocked. Percy understood and replied, “Don’t worry! She said she can grow another arm.”
The laptop sighed a relief but soon his expression changed as he noticed something shining in Percy’s arm.
“That’s a friendship bracelet. The starfish gifted me for saving her life”, said Percy and continued with his email.

“I made a lot of friends today, but one of them is very special. Sometimes, wishes do come true” and ended his email with a shooting star.

"I'm off to explore this shipwreck," said Starfish. "Want to come?" Percy definitely did.

"Look Starfish!" said Percy peering through a porthole. "I think I see treasure."

Suddenly Percy felt someone behind him. "Arrr - Keep your feathers off of me treasure!" Roared Pirate Shark.

"I was only looking!" stammered Percy. "But could I please have just one doubloon to take back home?”

"Arrr! Ok - as long as you sit on me shoulder so I look like a real Pirate." said Pirate Shark.

So Percy sat on Pirate Shark’s shoulder and Starfish took a photo for Pirate Shark to keep. Pirate Shark gave them a doubloon each!

"Wow!" Said Laptop when Percy had finished his email. "That really was an action-packed day of adventure. What will you do tomorrow?

"Hmmm?" said Percy looking at the picture of the jungle on the wall. "There's always somewhere interesting to explore!"

“Hello Percy!” said Starfish, “Would you like to come to my birthday party?”
“Yes please!” squawked Percy happily.
Percy had a wonderful time at Starfish’s underwater birthday party. He played Pass the Parcel , Musical Bumps and Pin the Fin on the Shark with Seahorse, Dolphin, Crab and Starfish and then they all sang “Happy Birthday” to her and had a piece of birthday cake, which was shaped like a shell.
Then it was time to go home. Percy had such a wonderful time with all his new friends. He promised to see them again soon. Percy thanked Mr and Mrs Starfish for the party and swam back to the surface.
When he opened his party bag he found a piece of the shell cake and a beautiful shell. He put the shell to his ear and could hear the sea!
“I’ll never forget my adventures and my new friends” he sighed happily “And I can’t wait to have more adventures tomorrow…”

Wow! Said Percy, is this where shooting stars come? Starfish gave Percy one wish. Percy closed his eyes tight, thought very hard and wished for his adventure to continue. Percy opened his eyes to meet Mermaid 'lets go find some treasure' she took Percy's hand and they swam to the ship wreck where they found a chest full of gold.

Then the evil Robotic Horseboat launched an attack on earth for literally no reason. Swords of light streacked across the seas, causing death, destruction, doom and even words that don't begien with d. Unfortunately, an earthquake caused a Thunderbirds (are go) reference and it plummeted to its ultimate demise, crushing Percy in the process as it sunk into the Marianas trench, before exploding into an expanding dome of debris, leaving a titanic column of bubbles and a violent shockwave.

By DS (aged 10). Not necessarily what you're looking for but I'll take any activity I can get that isn't yet more Minecraft YouTube videos at this stage in the Easter holidays.

Starfish was ecstatic to have a new friend, and gave Percy a big hug. Percy, feeling rather awkward at being hugged by someone he didn't know yet, tried to wriggle free from Starfish's many arms. Suffice it to say, he couldn't. Starfish was resolutely attempting to hug Percy to death. Percy was running out of air. He struggled, but couldn't escape. He soon realised that resistance was futile, and instead used the last of his breath to squawk. Spacedog heard this, and leapt into action. As planned, he landed in the sea, and found Percy and Starfish. He barked at Starfish, who released Percy and swum away in terror. Starfish, to this day, has never been seen again. Percy and Spacedog still meet up for a pint every week, fondly reminiscing on their young antics, although each now has a vague feeling they should have done more with their lives.

By DD aged 12 - again, possibly not what you're looking for but it kept her out of mischief.

…who told him that he was looking for his great grandfather’s long lost treasure. Starfish said it was very valuable. Suddenly Percy saw a glint of gold behind a rock. “Over there!” exclaimed Percy. Starfish and Percy lifted up the heavy rock and sure enough underneath it there was a chest full of sparkling gold coins! Starfish thanked Percy and gave him half of the treasure. Percy used it to buy Kinder eggs for himself and all of his friends. After that Percy the Parrot happily flew home. “What an amazing day!” he said and got into bed and feel asleep straight away.

Starfish was very sad. “I lost all the family’s precious treasure!” he groaned. “Can I help?” asked Percy. “Not really” replied Starfish, “I lost the treasure because I took it out to make it squeaky clean but I let it go and it floated off never to be seen again” he wailed. In the corner of his eye Percy spotted the most amazing thing he had ever seen. KINDER EGGS!! “This treasure of yours,” asked Percy the Parrot, “is it Kinder Eggs with the most shiny wrappers ever?” “Yes!” exclaimed Starfish excitedly. “It’s over there!” shouted Percy. Starfish rescued the treasure and gave half of it to Percy. “Here you go” said Starfish. Percy thanked Starfish then flew home and shared the Kinder eggs with all his friends.

"Oh Hi" said Percy. "Do you like stars?" "Yes, because I am one" said starfish. Percy said "silly me". They ate some seaweed and a nice cream, A end.

"Hello Starfish, would you like to dance with me?" Said Percy the Parrot.

Some music played and Percy and Starfish danced together.

When the dance was finished, Starfish said "bye bye Percy, come and visit me again" and she floated back into her seaweed house.

Percy had really enjoyed his adventure.

Who said ‘my name is Sam’. ‘Would you like to play with me’? ‘Yes that will be fun’ replied Percy. Sam Starfish said ‘great lets swim over to the old shipwreck and explore’.

On the way, they saw some colourful coral reefs, with pretty bright flowers, green and purple seaweeds.

On the shipwreck was a red name tag ‘Jolly Roger’. In the v-bottom hull. they darted in and out, the six starboard round windows. In the corner, they saw Ollie Octopus with his 8 gangly tentacles, around a dusty treasure chest, trying to prize it open.

They swam over to Ollie, who said ‘I have been trying to open this treasure chest, buts it’s locked’. Then Percy the Parrot spotted something gleaming amongst the seaweed, so he went over to explore, and there was a gold key!

Percy shouted happily. ‘I think that I found the treasure chest key’!

"Watch out!" screamed Starfish "here comes a pack of fishies!"
Percy the Parrot picked up Starfish and flew them both to safety on top of a big rock. Percy shook his wet feathers and turned to Starfish who was giggling and crying with laughter
"What’s so funny?" asked Percy
“Oh nothing” said Starfish, still giggling, “you should have seen your face, it was like this” Starfish stretched her eyes as far as she could and made a funny face
Percy started to crack a smile and then fell on the floor next to Starfish with laughter.

Starfish waved and said follow me where he took Percy to meet a gathering of crabs and starfish who were playing football with a sunken fishing line weight "hello" said Percy, the crabs were a bit snappy at first but were soon friendly enough when then realised Percy wasn't a threat, They decided they'd like to put Percy in goal, Percy was delighted. He managed to save three goals and was the hero of the match, then Percy decided it was time to go so he said goodbye and flew out of the water and landed on a rock

"Have you seen my friend Fish? " Starfish asked Percy Parrot.
"Yes , he's over there hiding in the seaweed. Do you want me to show you?" replied Percy.
"Yes please" said Starfish. Percy the Parrot and Starfish went over to Fish. "We found you" they chanted.
"What a good game " said Percy the Parrot , but I must be getting home now.
"Bye" and Percy the Parrot swam away.

"Hi" said Starfish "Do you want to play with me and my friends?"
"OOh yes please" said Percy the Parrot.
Percy and Starfish played amongst the seaweeds until Starfish's mum called him in for tea. "please come and play another time, that was fun" said Starfish.
"Yes I will " replied Percy the Parrot and swam off home to have his own dinner.
