To celebrate their mini pots of rice pudding and custard, which hit the shelves earlier this year and are specially developed for children*, we have been asked by the team at Ambrosia to find out from you what tastes make you happy! We all know some flavours and food are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face - or to your childs', or may even remind you of a special meal or occasion.

Ambrosia say: "we think that Ambrosia my mini pots taste like happy! They are a great way to mix up a mundane lunchbox, and as they are easy to pop in a handbag, are always there for when hunger strikes. And a happy child, means a happy mum/dad. What does happy taste like to you?"

The Ambrosia mini pots range is specially developed for children* and contains calcium and vitamin D, which are needed for normal growth and development of bone in children. They contain no preservatives or artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners, but are full of dairy goodness. They have a long life and don't need to be chilled, so they are perfect for stocking up on reserve and for use out and about too. For all ingredients please see here

Each pack of 6 has a recommended retail price of £1.49.

Please share your happy tastes and flavours on this thread - or those of your DC - no later than 28th November 2014 - and you'll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £100 Amazon voucher and a selection of Ambrosia Goodies**.

Please note, your comments may be included on Ambrosia's social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck

Sticky Toffee Pudding with Custard.

flamingtoaster · 17/11/2014 11:11

My happy flavours are 85% dark chocolate, cherries, Hapil strawberries (only available as PYO).

thesoupdragon44 · 17/11/2014 11:16

I love baked apples, not only do they smell of Christmas but they taste lovely too!

Thisvehicleisreversing · 17/11/2014 12:02

For me there's nothing chocolate can't beat.
For the taste, the texture, oh! So sweet.

My kids however, their tastes so strange.
Crisps then sweets then meat they crave. Confused

But we all agree on one traditional food.
On Sunday a sponge with lashings of custard, soooo good.

marymouse · 17/11/2014 12:07

fresh bread! a few years ago I never found the attraction in bread but now I love it especially straight from the oven

nannynick · 17/11/2014 12:09

I like hot custard with mashed banana. The children I care for won't even consider it, they like custard out of the pot/tin room temp.

Some like it hot,
Some like it cold,
Some like it from the pot
but not if it's nine days old!

MrsmummyWright · 17/11/2014 12:12

The taste that always make me happy is cinamin (not sure to spell it)
I love it always makes me feel festive and smiley my son on the hand love anything banana related if ever I'm struggling to get him to eat his lunch offer him a banana and his face lights up its unreal the reaction he gives from a piece of fruit x

Warm apple crumble and custard! DH makes the best apple crumble ever!

Or warm chocolate fudge cake with ice cream!

Or, for me and DC, mashed potato!

ButtfaceMiscreant · 17/11/2014 12:18

For me, it is sticky toffee pudding with custard, or treacle sponge with custard. If I had to go savoury, Wensleydale cheese with cranberries.

At Christmas, mulling spices make me happy, whether that is mulled wine/apple juice, or the spiced Christmas muffins I make for Christmas morning. I don't even need to eat/drink it, the smell alone lifts my spirits Xmas Smile

missorinoco · 17/11/2014 12:49

Happiness for me tastes of in season ripe fruit - strawberries, mango, nectarines. Or the biscuit that accompanies my cup of tea.

For the DC - custard is happiness in itself, but chocolate custard is ecstasy.

WhoremoaneeGrainger · 17/11/2014 13:04

Ultimate comfort/make me happy food is scrambled egg on toast for me, or syrup sponge and custard.

DH its jam roly poly and custard.

DD is cold custard, straight from the tin if she had her way.

NecesitoDormir · 17/11/2014 13:09

Gypsy tart. Reminds me of my school days. :)

telsa · 17/11/2014 13:38

don't want to be sycophantic but...Ambrosia rice pudding taste makes me happy. So does Pista Barfi.

Dolallytats · 17/11/2014 13:49

A good apple crumble and custard is hard to beat. But, for memory based tastes, semolina and ground rice pudding take me straight back to luchtime at my nanny's house-she made it every time!!

FPATEL · 17/11/2014 14:03

We all love yoghurt, the mini flavoured pots, the big flavoured pots, Greek yogurt, natural yogurt and of course, the yogurt drinks. Another happy taste in our house is honey. Nice on toast, nice on porridge and weetabix and a nice medicine when we're down with coughs and sore throats

howtoapproachthis · 17/11/2014 14:05

dark chocolate with mint

vanilla

coffee

montiefletcher · 17/11/2014 14:09

Chocolate, especially when you have the whole bar to yourself for a change

rupert23 · 17/11/2014 14:45

its got to be chocolate for me and the darker the better, but my sons prefer milk chocolate it makes us all happy

SnowyMouse · 17/11/2014 14:58

custard and ricepudding, or syrup sponge.

ouryve · 17/11/2014 15:29

Every once in a while, I get a craving for pak choi. And it really does hit the spot and make me feel better. Delicious!

And I love the taste (and smell) of good coffee. Very soothing.

hermancakedestroyer · 17/11/2014 15:59

In our household we like gingerbread, jam flavour, apple, nutmeg, strawberry, milk chocolate and vanilla flavours. Yummy!

emmelinelucas · 17/11/2014 16:12

Custard slices-they remind me of my special birthday treats as a child.
My favourite flavour is almond, especially Amaretto !

Kathderoet · 17/11/2014 16:39

Anything with cinnamon or coconut yum love those flavours and they smell great too!

MakeTeaNotWar · 17/11/2014 16:40
