Nurofen for Children have asked us to find out what makes Mumsnetters and their DCs feel better when they’re feeling under the weather during the winter months.

Here’s what Nurofen says, “Both adults and children may experience a sniffle or two this winter, but the whole family wants to feel their best to make the most of the festive season. From Halloween to Christmas, there are plenty of family occasions to enjoy during the colder months and being holed up in the house is no fun for anybody. If you or your children are struck down with cold or flu, Nurofen offers a range of products to help manage both adult and child symptoms including fever, sore throats, headaches and minor body aches.”

So, what do you do to help yourself and your DCs feel better when you are (both) down with a winter bug? Do you tuck yourself under multiple covers on the couch and put on a marathon of your favourite TV show? Perhaps you have a special recipe which you reserve for when you’re feeling under the weather which you find keeps you going? Or maybe a hot bath does the trick for you and your DC? Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it.

Everyone who leaves their comments below will be entered into a prize draw to win a £250 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

a big fry up followed by a long walk in the woods to get fresh air

aurorablues · 23/11/2014 16:49

Tucked up in bed after a long hot bubble bath, with some hot honey and lemon and something entertaining on the TV.

janesteels · 23/11/2014 16:51

Chicken soup, curling up on the settee with a snuggly blanket.

srobbo71 · 23/11/2014 16:57

A hot drink and a snuggly warm blanket aways makes me feel better

Jezzamk · 23/11/2014 16:59

A nice warm drink and then curl up in bed with the cat and listen to a play on the radio / podcast. Helps time pass and will often help me fall asleep without feeling like I have been awake for ages trying to sleep.

smit23 · 23/11/2014 17:15

staying in bed with a cup of tea, chocolate, plenty of tissues and a SATC marathon!

luijo · 23/11/2014 17:44

snuggling up on the sofa, watching films together helps me and my children to feel a little better, especially when accompanied by hot chocolate and marshmallows :)

ustupidwoman · 23/11/2014 18:02

I don't know what it is - whether its the old 'medicinal' type ads or the fact its so full of sugar - but Lucozade does it for me everytime - that first sip always feels like bliss!!

Blondie1982 · 23/11/2014 18:03

Watching my favourite movies whilst tucked up in bed

pockledigg · 23/11/2014 18:08

A hot water bottle and a WHOLE BULB of garlic mashed up with salt & lemon juice and spread on a piece of toast.

Kangakate · 23/11/2014 18:46

Snuggling up on the coach under the duvet with a not Lemsip (with a vitamin tab in it), watching something on TV that I don't have to think about, like 'Say Yes To The Dress'

Pimmpom · 23/11/2014 18:50

Plenty of hot drinks and the boxset of Friends.

mooncheese · 23/11/2014 18:56

Hot bubble bath, fresh pjs, a nap and then a catch up with all my TV programmes.

Iristutu · 23/11/2014 18:57

A burning fire, a cosy duvet and a big hug.

Mandahul · 23/11/2014 19:06

Chicken Noodle soup and a snuggle on the sofa with a quilt and a box of tissues:)

12LuDo · 23/11/2014 19:19

Inhaling steam and drink fresh orange juice. I don't know if the orange juice does anything or if it's just a placebo effect, but I like to feel I'm doing something about it!

ser1 · 23/11/2014 19:24

A hot bath and a funny film.

janme · 23/11/2014 19:30

littlemisstrivia · 23/11/2014 20:20

Cuddles - what could be better that cuddling up together when you're feeling under the weather

TenMinutesEarly · 23/11/2014 20:25

Tinned tomato soup and cold toast is our family poorly meal always eaten on the sofa. We make sure we are dosed up. Nurofen is the only thing which will bring ds temperature down and he gets HOT!

Then lots of cuddles and rest with the poorly person getting full control of the remote Grin

kel1981 · 23/11/2014 20:27

lying on the couch with a hot water bottle, watching crappy telly!

nicolecharleston · 23/11/2014 20:29

I like to have a nice hot cup of orange juice with a teaspoon of honey mixed in. Makes me feels better every time!
