Nurofen for Children have asked us to find out what makes Mumsnetters and their DCs feel better when they’re feeling under the weather during the winter months.

Here’s what Nurofen says, “Both adults and children may experience a sniffle or two this winter, but the whole family wants to feel their best to make the most of the festive season. From Halloween to Christmas, there are plenty of family occasions to enjoy during the colder months and being holed up in the house is no fun for anybody. If you or your children are struck down with cold or flu, Nurofen offers a range of products to help manage both adult and child symptoms including fever, sore throats, headaches and minor body aches.”

So, what do you do to help yourself and your DCs feel better when you are (both) down with a winter bug? Do you tuck yourself under multiple covers on the couch and put on a marathon of your favourite TV show? Perhaps you have a special recipe which you reserve for when you’re feeling under the weather which you find keeps you going? Or maybe a hot bath does the trick for you and your DC? Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it.

Everyone who leaves their comments below will be entered into a prize draw to win a £250 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

a lovely mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream squirted on top. It reminds me of days when i used to go to a shop called Olivers in my local town with my mum and go christmas shopping. Nostalgia and chocolate

Having no-one else in the house, so it is quiet, and then curling up on the sofa with a duvet, trashy daytime TV, and the cat curled up on my legs.

josie301 · 23/11/2014 14:31

For the kiddies it's chicken soup & cosy blankies in front of a good movie.

Me, honey & lemon in hot water with painkillers after a good walk outdoors which seem to help somehow!

mariamunkey · 23/11/2014 14:34

a cuppa tea with honey in it, an extra wee daytime nap and a cuddle from the kids!

Julie2146 · 23/11/2014 14:44

Duvet downstairs, pjs on, hot water bottle, plenty of hot drinks and back to back movies

Woodruffshaz · 23/11/2014 15:22

Hmmmmmm if i am honest, i would say ordering a nice hot indian takeaway, (so i havent got to cook OR washup) , staying in my onesie and snuggling on the sofa with the kids watching our fave films.... Usually the Labyrinth, ET or the Goonies... works a treat... Plus my 6 year old has the best snuggles ever which always makes us feel better.. :)

debra1968 · 23/11/2014 15:48

Getting all snuggled under a duvet on the sofa with a hot water bottle for the day usually does the trick

nixnjj · 23/11/2014 15:51

Lots of TLC, duvet on the sofa, chicken soup and plenty of orange juice and fruit for son.

Me I just dose up as far as possible and carry on and come home to microwave food, and skip homework/housework and hot bath and early bed.

theno1dj · 23/11/2014 15:53

Snuggling on bed with a hot lemon and honey drink, watching some tv.
