To celebrate the launch of the new Vodafone family price plan (Red+) and that this Christmas you can also enjoy a 3 month NOW TV Sky Movies with Red 4G Vodafone want to know what your fail safe film is for travelling with children!

Vodafone say "We all know those long journeys with children, especially at christmas time when they are even more excited, can feel a bit endless. These days, technology makes this a bit easier! With a 3 month NOW TV Sky Movies Pass from Vodafone, you can select a film to help pass the time for children".

Vodafone has also launched a new plan, designed specifically for families. Red+ gives you one data allowance to share and you can even cap your kids’ data so they don't go over their limit. You'll get one simple bill for all devices, saving you money compared to individual plans, and you'll also get unlimited calls and texts.

The Vodafone Digital Parenting Guide can be found here: www.vodafone.co.uk/family

So whether your children climb over seats to catch yet another screening of Frozen, or have a secret sob to Toy Story 3, please share the film you can be quietly confident will give you some peace on the journey and keep the kids occupied.

Add your comment to this thread and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £250 Hamleys voucher (can be used online and in the stores)

Please note your comments may be used by Vodafone or MN on Vodafone pages, social media or possibly elsewhere - please only add a comment if you're happy for it to be used.

Thanks and good luck

kateandme · 14/11/2014 00:23

dont start it!!we didnt have films in the car when we were young and i dont want to sound all poo pooee but which generation is faring better right now!!?if you can just let them sit.look out the window.interact with them yourselves and play games.give them colouring etc etc.but of course times have changed and there is no getting away from that.and of course kids at schoool and peer pressure to have these computers and stuff will mean you might have to do things differently.so id say either elf or good old harry potter films.

Miracle On 34th Street is my DCs special Christmas Movie.
Who could not believe in Santa after watching it , a real classic we all love watching it as a family tradition and the kids will see it several times as we travel up to Scotland to visit family .

Laineyflo · 14/11/2014 06:21

We don't watch films in the car, but my Children adore the film 'Up'...It's a family favourite and they would happily watch it over and over again!

tompob1 · 14/11/2014 07:16

starlight36 · 14/11/2014 08:53

The Gruffalo is my DC's favourite. They never seem to tire of it.

nerysw · 14/11/2014 09:30

We don't watch films in the car, we play i-spy and other games and on long journeys my kids fall asleep. If we did it would probably be Frozen which they've seen about three million times (that's how many it feels like anyway).

music to sing along to

AlexanderinaTheGreater · 14/11/2014 11:43

I can't imagine having films in the car - what's wrong with listening to stories, watching out of the window and playing I spy? Trains are even easier - you can read books, do puzzles and play games. Watching films on transport is saved for planes and I can't imagine taking dd on a flight long enough for them yet.

southernsun · 14/11/2014 12:24

Home Alone, its a family favourite, although we love so many Christmas films we could drive to Australia and not run out of great festive movies to watch!

RoseberryTopping · 14/11/2014 13:27

DS loves UP. Not a fan of watching stuff in the car though

badgermum · 14/11/2014 13:55

Elf is the best film to keep both my boys age 8 and 14 quite on journey at Christmas, Best festive family film ever!!

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/11/2014 14:22

I force encourage the kids to watch The Muppets Christmas Carol every year, so making the 11 hour journey to Scotland one Christmas was no different, it was one of those slightly magical times when they were both strapped in and snuggled up in duvets with a frosty night outside p, lots of lights from the cars and houses and the familiar tones of Kermit coming out the DVD's player. They wait now for me to start belting out gently humming the songs, I think they're running sweepstakes between them to guess when I go fish out the DVD. Grin

alabaster002 · 14/11/2014 14:29

Toy Story - but that's probably more for my OH Smile

Belo · 14/11/2014 14:37

Mama mia in the back of the car. It even gets DH singing!

Roseformeplease · 14/11/2014 15:07

My children are older (12 and 14) but were both very recently glued to "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and they both love "The Devil Wears Prada". I love them watching things that I love so we can enthuse together.
