To celebrate the launch of the new Vodafone family price plan (Red+) and that this Christmas you can also enjoy a 3 month NOW TV Sky Movies with Red 4G Vodafone want to know what your fail safe film is for travelling with children!

Vodafone say "We all know those long journeys with children, especially at christmas time when they are even more excited, can feel a bit endless. These days, technology makes this a bit easier! With a 3 month NOW TV Sky Movies Pass from Vodafone, you can select a film to help pass the time for children".

Vodafone has also launched a new plan, designed specifically for families. Red+ gives you one data allowance to share and you can even cap your kids’ data so they don't go over their limit. You'll get one simple bill for all devices, saving you money compared to individual plans, and you'll also get unlimited calls and texts.

The Vodafone Digital Parenting Guide can be found here: www.vodafone.co.uk/family

So whether your children climb over seats to catch yet another screening of Frozen, or have a secret sob to Toy Story 3, please share the film you can be quietly confident will give you some peace on the journey and keep the kids occupied.

Add your comment to this thread and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £250 Hamleys voucher (can be used online and in the stores)

Please note your comments may be used by Vodafone or MN on Vodafone pages, social media or possibly elsewhere - please only add a comment if you're happy for it to be used.

Thanks and good luck

We've never watched movies in the car but I would go for Frozen to keep all tree of mine entertained. It would be a noisy journey though, with all the out of tune singing!

freefan · 13/11/2014 21:28

Home Alone or Shrek always passes the journey well

browny1982 · 13/11/2014 21:31

Lion king everytime!!

pfcpompeysarah · 13/11/2014 21:32

Any of the Toy Story films keep my son occupied whenever the need arises, tbh I love watching them too.

beeelaine · 13/11/2014 21:41

Our son would get car sick watching a movie while travelling - sorry! We tend to talk to each other - sometimes its hard to get a word in edgeways between us all when we are on a journey....haha!

Raahh · 13/11/2014 21:41

Mine don't watch things in the car- (we all tend to get car sick, I can't even look at my phone or read)- but Arthur Christmas is guaranteed to amuse all 3 dcs, or Despicable me 1 or 2 (massive Minion fans). Although dd2 (4)would probably prefer Frozen.

If it was down to me, it would be 'Miracle on 34th Street' (the original) or 'White Christmas' . Or Elf.

I love Christmas films. However, I draw the line at 'Santa Puppies' Grin

smamfer · 13/11/2014 21:43

Never watched films in the car i find they would be too distracting for me, we often have music on or play good old games like we used to when i was growing up

JollyCrumbs · 13/11/2014 21:45

DS rarely gets films in the car. I think the two he's seen are Toy Story and (appropriately) Cars.

KittyKat88 · 13/11/2014 21:48

My DD1 loves The Lion King and Wreck it Ralph - we recently went on a half term break to the south coast and these two films kept her going throughout the journey!

sharond101 · 13/11/2014 21:49

Happy Feet every time.

JoJoBaldwin · 13/11/2014 21:49

Polar Express is the new favourite, DD gets utterly absorbed in it.

Vals2402 · 13/11/2014 21:49

They love Polar Express

serin · 13/11/2014 21:54

We never really watched films in the car when the kids were little, lots of lovely fighting family bonding instead grin

Now they are all teens and are surgically attached to their devices, mainly listening to music I think, although I am not sure, as they don't tend talk to us much grin

Christmas movie? Home Alone!!

serin · 13/11/2014 21:55

Grin D'Oh

ScrambledEggAndToast · 13/11/2014 21:56

My son absolutely loves the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. His favourite bit is when Augustus Gloop gets stuck in the chocolate pipe and then suddenly shoots off due to the pressure of all the chocolate GrinGrin

BlondeHavingFun · 13/11/2014 22:08

Cars or Cars 2 every time

skyeskyeskye · 13/11/2014 22:10

When DD was younger she would watch Humf or Teletubbies on a long journey. Nowadays it would be Frozen or Tangled.

But tbh, the longest trip we do now is around 2 hours and we just chat and sing really. And count windmills (wind turbines).

RACHELSMITH45 · 13/11/2014 22:11

Monster house

fiestychick · 13/11/2014 22:13

Santa Claus The Movie! It's been my fave film since I went to see it on the night of my 5th birthday. NOw I get to watch it with the kids as they love it also

jcyclops · 13/11/2014 22:20

Frozen is the current favourite

RACHELSMITH45 · 13/11/2014 22:20

Monster house

juju3 · 13/11/2014 22:21

Toy Story 2

leannemoore · 13/11/2014 22:21

The one and only Christmas movie ... Santa clause the movie

twinklenic · 13/11/2014 22:26

most disney films go down well. I can imagine this year we'll all be singing along to 'let it go' from frozen ;)

buckley1983 · 13/11/2014 22:29

My little one is obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine at the moment - so any Thomas film will grab his attention! We'll have to make some long journeys in December to visit family for xmas so invested in a second hand portable DVD player on Ebay just for this purpose! Day to day, he is fine in the car & we have a vast collection of singalong CDs (which my husband & I inevitable end up singing throughout the day!) but for longer journeys, little one finds it a lot harder & this distraction makes the journey more comfortable for him & the time feels like it is passing faster! I may be encouraging him to watch 'The Muppet Christmas Carol' but must admit this is more for my benefit than his, haha :)
