Netflix would like to hear all about your Netflix moments and how you use the entertainment service with your family.

Netflix have released a new TV ad, watch it below and let us know your thoughts.

We all love great entertainment, what role does entertainment play in your household? Tell us what would make up your perfect Netflix moment and how does it make you feel? What are your "getting ready" rituals before you sit down to enjoy?

Maybe your perfect time to Netflix is cuddled up in bed with your DP or maybe it's a stolen moment at work in your lunch break?

Whatever it is, leave your comments below.

Everyone who adds their thoughts will be entered into a prize draw to win a £250 Love2Shop voucher*.

You can watch five short videos of how some other Mumsnetters use and experience Netflix here.

If you don't use Netflix please watch the videos of the Netflix ambassadors above and let us know what your impressions are of Netflix.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

Well, now my DCs are Modern Family obsessed too! They are 11 and 9 yo and love NetFlix.

Yesterday we were watching and a message came on saying 'Are you still watching ....' OMG yes, we are - love not having to touch the remote once your programme is chosen.

Half term Netflix moment:
A duvet day with my girls watching back to back Gossip Girl. No-one argued. Bliss.
:)

mjmooseface · 24/02/2014 22:50

I had a perfect Netflix moment today... Watching a scary film on my laptop in the middle of the day whilst washing up and the baby napped! I then watched a bit more whilst in the bath (still the middle of the day) and I only have 58 minutes left to watch...!! Sometimes you just have to steal a few moments to watch a TV programme or film and I don't even mind watching one show or one film in about 5 sittings these days! Oh, how life changes! ;)

KiwiBanana · 26/02/2014 13:43

I don't really have a getting ready ritual, I just like to watch it when I'm doing the ironing or when DP puts rubbish on the telly I'll sneak up to bed on watch on my iPad!

Another favourite is snuggling in to bed with DS and watching one of his programmes together :)

Belo · 26/02/2014 15:05

We watched Pride and Prejudice (the Colin Firth Mr. Darcy one) on netflix. One episode on a sunday night for 6 weeks. My perfect moment was cuddling up with my daughters, all hoping that Lizzie and Mr Darcy would get together!

Our next series is going to be North and South. Netflix is great for introducing your children to classic BBC serials I had enjoyed before they were around.

mjmooseface · 26/02/2014 18:00

Following on from my previous post, here is my one Netflix tip: If you are watching a scary film by yourself and want it to not feel too scary, watch it in the day time, whilst making marmite on toast and the washer's on in the background! Yes, I'm continuing on from that film I started watching 2 days ago... 46 minutes to go! ;)

Hopezibah · 26/02/2014 21:25

loved that advert! I'm totally that one with the chocolates before the film! Non-tester - here are my thoughts on the mumsnet vids:
I was impressed with how child friendly it looked on emma's video.

Really interesting that family who used it as an alternative to renewing their TV licence.

I get the impression that there is huge variety available, something for everyone, that it is really user friendly and great value for money.

At the end of the first video where they say for six quid a month you get all the DVDs you can want - that says it all really - sounds like good value.

We love Netflix, my husband and I loved watching breaking bad and my daughter loves watching peter pan, tinkerbell and santa claus 3 which all 3 are on constantly

Stockhausen · 27/02/2014 16:23

My best Netflix moment so far, was when my husband & son were away for the weekend, I was missing them, so binge watched the entire series of Orange is the new black! It was amazing!

I love being able to watch episodes on demand, one at a time, or greedily if you have more time.

Never have issues with picture quality either, unlike blinkbox!!!

KateOxford · 28/02/2014 14:02

My favourite Netflix moment was last week on holiday we discovered that the house we were staying in had Netflix. Such a clever idea. My husband chose a film for us to watch when the children were asleep and we cuddled up watching it on the sofa!

darcey09 · 04/03/2014 20:15

I was a bit dubious trying out Netflix on trial but am now a staunch user. There is a good choice for all my family's tastes considering the reasonable cost.. I watch so little generic tv that I'm considering saving on tv costs and using Netflix alone for everyone. Getting cozy with my two sons over these last few dismal weather months has been a treat.

lettysmith21 · 05/03/2014 10:43

We love netflix. My hubby and i are half way through breaking bad and our son loves my hero, adventure time and regular show. Worth every penny.

BlizzardInWales · 06/03/2014 18:03

We've had Netflix for a while. It is really good most of the time! Sometimes I search for classic films like Dirty Dancing and they're not there, or more modern films like Black Swan.

I do think the range is improving all the time though! I really do. It is value for money for us because I can always find something to watch!

I'd say the advert is a bit vague if you don't know what Netflix is.

Blizzard. X

We make great use of our subscription: we've watched all sorts on Netflix from Bubble Guppies and Peter Pan with the kids to GI JOE, Pumping Iron and river monsters for the hubby and me. Will be starting 24 soon...

nerysw · 08/03/2014 15:40

I'm not a Netflix user at the moment but I have been a Lovefilm customer for about 14 years. They've recently changed to Amazon Prime and the service has gone really downhill (they've sent me the same discs straight back when I return them and the Instant part of it works some of the time when it used to work all of the time). I think Netflix looks like a much better option for watching what the grown ups want after the kids have gone to bed.

twoboots · 09/03/2014 19:57

binge watching when i should be sleeping
orange is the new black and house of cards

WheresTheCoffee · 10/03/2014 16:56

I've just discovered Breaking Bad yes, I live under a rock! and may just have to take out a subscription!

xxxkadzxxx · 13/03/2014 19:05

I dont have Netflix but the impression i have of Netflix is there is something for everyone and its for everyone. I think that the adverts also make it seem that Netflix can be an adventure and you can in a way be who you want to be whilst watching it! It demonstrates a connection between them and us as the public and viewers from children to adults. I know that children love it so it also give them freedom as in they can choose what they would like to watch and have variety.
I like the fact that you can watch exclusive programmes-i would be interested in learning more about this and seeing what sort of exclusives there are! I Learnt from the first video that it also has a catch up service which is great. It would be really handy to have all the catch ups in one place.
It seems that although you pay for the service you save money. In the second video, the ladies sons Thomas craze would probably cost so much more to get all the episodes on DVD than paying for Netflix, this would also apply to a lot of the content on there. £6 doesn't seem a lot for the service so its very good value.
In Alisons video i learnt that there is alot of educational content on there so you would also learn from Netflix and could be another benefit for children, to help with their homework! I love the fact it can be used on multiple devices! My kids would love this, and so would i! I could take my tablet up to bed to watch TV!!!

I think i may have to subscribe! Wink

Beckett3 · 15/03/2014 03:09

Discovering it has 'Camp Nowhere' on there, I watched this when I was young and loved it but it has never been released on DVD here. Sitting down with a bunch of snacks cuddled up with my children and watching them love it as much as I did - perfect.

kateandme · 17/03/2014 04:44

for first impressions are mixed.im not desperate for it by this video.

i love to sit somehwere cosy.if its with fami;y or mysef the atmosphere has to be right for what your watching

momscribe · 17/03/2014 12:07

I have seen many ads on Netflix and loved to use it esp. because of good number of high quality movies available at a monthly price. I have seen what other mumsnetters have said about Netflix after using it and loved the app display of Netflix in Emma's video and all of them had shared how much they enjoyed Netflix. Yes, I too like Netflix :)

When dd has gone to nursery and ds is at school..dh at work..this means only one thing - netflix time! i then very quickly do a whiz round with the hoover and spray some polish and talk about what a busy day I've had cleaning the house! :)

NurseyWursey · 18/03/2014 14:20

My netflix time starts at 7pm and its my favourite part of the day. I cuddle up on the sofa with my blanket and a glass of something nice, and the Netflix Marathon begins! I love working my way through whole series of things

Although my dad has been watching it and currently on my 'suggestions to watch' there's a load of Kung Fu films - not my cup of tea Grin

museumworker · 18/03/2014 16:36

We've yet to experience Netflix, but just a couple of weeks ago we've decided to subscribe (once we finish our current binge on Madmen ;) )

The reason we'd like to have it is to watch the exclusive series, particularly House of Cards. I ADORE Kevin Spacey, and loved the original series. Entertainment is really important to us, both my partner and I work hard and like to have a couple of hours to ourselves in the evening to unwind. We tend to be good in the week, but watch a couple in a row on a Friday or Saturday night. To be honest, we're so busy in the week running around after the kids, or doing our own activities that a night in in front of the telly - watching something you want to see, rather than the dross the schedulers put on - is a real treat for us.

We have little in the way of rituals - we tend to get the footstool out and cuddle up on the sofa with a hot drink within reach (and maybe some biscuits...)

I'm also impressed by netflix fixed price, seems very reasonable. We just need unlimited broadband first!!
