Netflix have released a new TV ad, watch it below and let us know your thoughts.

Whatever it is, leave your comments below.

Everyone who adds their thoughts will be entered into a prize draw to win a £250 Love2Shop voucher*.

You can watch five short videos of how some other Mumsnetters use and experience Netflix here.

I love Netflix, we watch it a LOT in our household. Ds1 loves the fact that he can OD on Dora etc. It's great as I can catch up on Criminal Minds whilst he does this.

As others have said, I can't remember the last time I watched normal Tv.

Fifyfomum · 13/02/2014 21:19

We put the kids to bed and just watch episode after episode of breaking bad. The house work has really taken a hit!

Ledkr · 13/02/2014 21:33

fifty you wait till it ends! There's a void.

My affair with Netflix started when I was pregnant. For 8 months I caught up on everything I had missed out on from terrestrial TV when I was in boarding school, found series that I wouldn't have given the time of day to actually quite funny (like Arrested Development). I felt I had run out of things to watch after I searched for about 20 film titles not available and so I switched to Love Film for a few months. I gave up that foolish idea soon enough as it doesn't remember where you were in series! If the laptop was on a go slow it drove me bonkers going through 24 episodes trying to figure out if I had seen it already to find the next episode of something (unless you watch to the end of the credits it doesn't mark it as 'watched', annoyingly). Came back to Netflix and gorged on OITNB in a couple of days, caught up with Dexter and finished off Breaking Bad. I've watched all of Prime Suspect, and so many more on Netflix. The best way to do it is with a large selection of chocolate in bed when DD is asleep.

DD now likes the KIDS Netflix - Dora is a new favourite and something I wouldn't have bothered buying previously. It certainly is helping me save space by not having to buy any more actual DVD's! She likes to watch it in bed with me and it has given me the odd extra half an hour lie in on weekends!.

Only requests are more foreign films, independent films and an option to watch all of a series at once (there may well be this function but I have yet to find it!).

Lioninthesun · 13/02/2014 22:12

Oooh and now I must find X-Files! Thank you whoever mentioned that upthread Grin

Lioninthesun · 13/02/2014 22:15

Ah, it is 'unavailable to stream'. This frustration is why I wavered to LF Wink

tonycarbone · 13/02/2014 22:47

Watching Life of Pi was amazing!!

Lioninthesun · 13/02/2014 23:07

Erm, I can't see that either - unavailable to stream. Am I meant to be paying a premium to see better things? Sad

CheeryCherry · 14/02/2014 06:41

I have enjoyed settling down, fire lit, bar of chocolate and a milky coffee to watch Cold Feet all over again...it has hardly dated and is such brilliant writing and casting. Bliss :)

Trills · 14/02/2014 08:47

I watched all of Coupling a little while ago - friends hanging out in a pub is much more realistic than hanging out in a coffee shop (I'm looking at you, Friends).

I get frustrated with watching TV "as it happens" now - what happened to Agents of Shield? It paused for Christmas and hasn't come back.

Ilikepinkwine · 14/02/2014 09:32

We're just getting started on Netflix. So far we've been really impressed by the choice- lots of films we haven't seen yet. It's going to come in handy next weekend at a family function to occupy the kids.

Looking forward to Breaking Bad but need to make sure the house is clean and cupboards are well stocked before I start watching from the sounds of it.

Is the selection regularly updated?

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 14/02/2014 11:31

Best Netflix moment- when it was a lifesaver. Laid up in bed with the flu whilst pregnant and climbing the walls with boredom. Dipped in and out of so many things, was just perfect.

swooosh · 14/02/2014 18:45

The BEST was airing Breaking Bad right after the US did. We watched all the series in 3 weeks up until the last 4 episodes 'live'. We then planned a finale night. We had Los Pollos Hermanos chicken, blue 'meth' sugar cupcakes, syringes full of cocktails and sat down and blubbed. Sad

We miss you Breaking Bad...

Amicus1966 · 14/02/2014 19:11

OMG. Have just finished Breaking Bad .
What the hell do I do now, am bereft!

Bigspring · 14/02/2014 19:31

Love Netflix for all the tv box sets.. Finished breaking bad and now obsessed with gossip girl! It's also great for kids

Amicus1966 · 14/02/2014 19:57

Oooh, I considered Gossip Girl . Is it any good?
Farted about a bit with House of Cards but couldn't get on with Kevin Spaceys southern draaaaaawl, drove me mad. Kept channeling the clipped British original.
Tried OITNB but got bored after 30 mins.

Lent1l · 14/02/2014 19:59

We recently cancelled Sky as price is just ridiculous. We decided to give the Netflix one month free a go and I'm not regretting it at all. I can watch Netflix on my tablet whilst doing the ironing. Catch films I've been meaning to watch for ages. And hubby and I are loving House of Cards and new season airs tonight! Don't think Sky will see us back any time soon.

Dontbugmemalone · 14/02/2014 20:13

I don't have Netflix but have read about it from Mumset before. I think it's a very good idea because you can watch something when it suits you, you don't have to worry about remembering to record it. We don't have a tv so something it's more difficult to watch recent series online.

I can definitely relate to having a baby stuck on my chest, brings back some memories :)

HootyMcOwlface · 14/02/2014 20:22

We love Netflix and in our house its all about the TV series.. Breaking Bad, Dexter, rewatching Buffy, House of Cards, The Office..

Once DS goes to bed, me and DH snuggle up on the sofa to watch Netflix. At least two /three episodes each time.

KeaLea · 14/02/2014 20:53

Watching back to back episodes of a newly discovered tv series in bed at 3am when my baby wakes for a feed and I can't go back to sleep! Lovely.

lurkingmurking · 15/02/2014 06:40

Thank you thank you thank you Netflix for finally introducing a short list function!

My only criticism would be that we still get all the kids stuff in the main 'icon' - please just shove it a all under kids

My favourite Netflix moment is working from home watching Gossip Girl for hours on end while I do boring documentation Grin

TarteAuxRiz · 15/02/2014 07:28

Watching a new 'box set' every evening whilst lying with dc til they sleep, it's perfect snugly viewing.

Ilikepinkwine · 15/02/2014 10:20

Is anyone managing to get Netflix on their TV through a PS3? I struggled for 2 hours last night before giving up. Or tips on making a Sky HD box work with internet? I've never bothered before because we couldn't get unlimited broadband in this area but now we can.

BobaFetaCheese · 15/02/2014 11:04

THIS thread has made us decide to get netflix (cancelling Sky and were looking into all the alternatives).
The video from MN-er Alison's family describes how we'd use netflix properly..the idea of not paying a TV licence sounds wonderful.

I never watch tv by myself, it's either children's show with the small ones or something suitably violent, sweary or foreign with DH/friends...so having the tv ready to download something I'd enjoy, at a moments notice, appeals.

Our perfect Netflix moment will be watching the last few seasons of Breaking Bad, hopefully over one weekend binge, curled up on the sofa with a bowl of museli and yogurt for me, DH with a bowl of raspberry ripple ice cream and both children sleeping through the night

Ledkr · 15/02/2014 12:15

Netflix works fine with our ps3
