Thought we needed this topic here too....

mine is just exciting - today Dd cut her first tooth.

I am off to London today for a training day and it will be the longest time I have spent away from her!! SO pleased dh noticed it before I went off for the day. She has been dribbling and gnawing for weeks and finally A little tooth poked its head out of her gums.

Good news Caroline, well done

ThomCat · 30/06/2003 09:47

Ahh Caroline that's great, how exciting for you to have 2 first in one day!!

not really a proud but I have just received dds report from nursery and it was very good. Under the heading 'communication, language and literacy' section it says she uses simple volcabulary-for example, at dinner time when asked if she wants more, she will say 'chips'.

It really made me laugh as she is quite capable of not only saying 'more' but she also uses the Makaton sign for 'more'. Obviously the little tinker just wants CHIPS. Smile

that brought a smile to my face fio.

Dd has been sitting for a while but we have been very reluctant to let her sit unsupported ... however - she is doing so well sitting for while long periods of time unsupported with a relatively straight back..... she is able to reach out for her toys and not topple.

She has also become very vocal and cheeky - now when she is tired - we KNOW about it!!! before we just let her fall asleep but now she is telling us - via very loud shouting that she is tired. Annoying at times but also we are pleased she is being vocal...

she sounds like a cute little thing eidsvold, I remember that time well with my two-you dont want to let them fall and then when you take all the cushions away you can bet they'll fall flat on their face. Glad shes making her presence felt!

MABS · 01/07/2003 20:47

sounds like they're both doing really well Mummies !!

just need to boast about what a pleasant child my dd2 is. She's 27 months and is just a joy to do things with - she actually enjoys going shopping in town or in the supermarket and I really like having her with me when I'm out.
Her big sister used to try to escape all the time at this age or have tantrums, but not dd2 - she waves hello and bye-bye to people, gets excited by what she sees (e.g. lots of 'cat' signs when she spots a picture of a cat on something), blows me kisses when she spots me in a mirror somewhere, and today at Sainsbury's she unloaded the whole top section of the trolley onto the conveyor belt and was proud as punch .

that is so brilliant 2under 2. By the way did you have a great holiday?!?

ThomCat · 15/07/2003 12:50

What about you fio2, did you have to get involved in any parent races?!

doormat · 15/07/2003 13:09

Fio2 how wonderful

fio2 · 15/07/2003 14:34

oooo Thomcat I tried to avoid it as much as possible but did try to help out with the kidsWink

The dads race was to carry a glass of beer on a tray to the end and drink it as fast as possible-not fair- the mums race was egg and spoon!

2under2 · 15/07/2003 14:35

thanks for the lovely comments, dd is indeed very precious. Doormat, you must be so proud! I hope he does it again soon. fio2, sounds like sports day was great - I am a bit nervous about how it'll be to attend events if dd does go to special school - nice to hear your positive experience.
Eidsvold, had lovely holidays and I've got Outlook sorted again! Will be in touch soon.
