Thought we needed this topic here too....

mine is just exciting - today Dd cut her first tooth.

I am off to London today for a training day and it will be the longest time I have spent away from her!! SO pleased dh noticed it before I went off for the day. She has been dribbling and gnawing for weeks and finally A little tooth poked its head out of her gums.

Very proud my son held a paint brush in school.
Very happy.

How lovely for you both, this is such a happy thread.

ThomCat · 21/05/2003 17:09

Yeah Doormat, that's great. Now watch out for your walls / furniture etc to get painted green and pink!
Really chuffed for you.
Like Lou says this is such a lovley thread, I check in at least twice every day to see what all our angels are up to, it's lovley to hear.

doormat · 22/05/2003 08:52

LOL girls
Thanx

Jimjams · 22/05/2003 22:55

doormat- my son decided a few weeks ago that he wouldn't scream every time someone gave him drawing or painting to do - and now he is drawing everywhere.

I found biro all over my bed the other day. Grabbed him too him to it and said "what's that". He looked at it and said "nayanin" which is "colouring" and looked quite pleased. I said "colouring on paper not on Mummys bed". he said "nanig an" which is Mummy's bed and skipped off laughing. He hasn't stopped now- everything is scribbled on!

Jimjams · 22/05/2003 22:55

should be took him to it

lou33 · 23/05/2003 22:47

Ds got to show his physiotherapist his crawling today and she was really so happy to see him do it - he raced across the pt room with a huge smile on his face, then had an excellent session. We both think it has to be down to his gaiters ( he got the next size up today he has grown so fast).

The OT also popped in to make an appointment to see ds at home for next week, so it looks like things are moving on.

chatee · 24/05/2003 08:29

Lou33 that's brilliant news brought back all my happy memories too...give ds a big pat on the back from us and tell him to keep up the good work!!

Yesterday my dd finally managed to walk with her wheels to the village shop, there and back without me having to trail the pushchair with us and without being picked up once(ok she didn't know that I had the mobile phone with me and could have phoned dh as he was at home if it had all gone pear shaped!!!)
The trip would take me about 6 mins on my own, we set off at 1.40pm and got back at 3.10 and were only in the shop for 5 mins but never mind-boy did she sleep well last night

eidsvold · 24/05/2003 09:07

so glad to hear things are going so well Lou.

Chattee - well done to you little dd for her amazing journey.

dd took five unaided steps in a row today!! WOOHOO! All very shaky and not helped by her giggling like mad, but she did it. Amazing to think she will be walking properly soon.

LOL on the achievements your little ones have done.

On Thurs I was playing rolling stones cd when son came home from school. His feet, arms and head were all over the place "dancing". His wheelchair was a rockin. So I will put it on more often now.

lou33 · 24/05/2003 14:38

Well done doormat, 2under2, I can picture the scenes now! Jimjams, it must be one of the few times that a parent wouldn't mind having pen all over their furniture, well done to him.

Chatee what an achievement for dd, I'm looking forward to that time for ds.

MABS · 26/05/2003 16:30

Lovely to hear about all the painting Jimjams, well done to him. And as for your actually 'performing' at physio Lou - I'm very impressed. How did the ot go? We have to wait another 9/10 months to see one...

Sorry to have missed all this when it happened 'live' We 've put our house on the market, partly cos there are far too many steps here for ds to cope with, and the stress is really getting to me. Not used to keeping a tidy house

lou33 · 26/05/2003 16:38

Ot is this Thursday Mabs. Wondered why you had gone all quiet on us, good luck with selling it. I hate housework at the best of times so it must be a nightmare when trying to sell. I never understand why the prospective buyers don't have the brains to realise it won't look the same when they move in, so what does a bit of mess matter?

MABS · 26/05/2003 16:54

Good luck with that on Thursday , do they come to you? Tidying up is not my thing either..

lou33 · 26/05/2003 17:59

She is on Thursday. We are going to try and combine the ot and the pt if it all possible to save 2 trips. I don't know if she will do home visits all the time though. Would help me a lot if she did!

ThomCat · 27/05/2003 10:08

I love this thread, haven't logged on for a few days so great to hear of all the fantastic achievments.
This weekend we had another breakthrough - I gave Charlotte her milk and did the sign for it and she looked at me, grinned and did the milk sign back to me before grabbing her bottle, than I said you look a bit tired sweet, do you want to go to sleep and did the sleep sign, couldn't beleive it when she did the sleep sign back! DH and I were bowled over.
Also set up her little tike car this weekend - it's the most exciting thing in the world so far as far as she is concerned!

eidsvold · 27/05/2003 12:27

at everyone's good news.... well done to all your little ones.

OP posts:
MABS · 27/05/2003 19:11

that it totally brilliant Thomcat

eidsvold · 28/05/2003 14:00

we have been listening to dd babble with odd syllables thrown in - we thought she had said mama and dada late last week. Well yesterday and today clear as anything - Mama and dada and hello.... I am not sure she connects any real meaning to them just yet but am excited to hear syllables rather than gargling and other interesting noises from her.

OP posts:
lou33 · 28/05/2003 14:56

Round of applause!

ThomCat · 28/05/2003 17:22

That's lovley Edisvold. I bet like me you can't wait to hear the words 'Love you Mummy'. Ohhh, that must be the best feeling in the world.

eidsvold · 28/05/2003 20:39

you are so right Thomcat ... poor dh has not heard the words clearly and separate like I have and so he keeps saying them to dd to get her to say them.

OP posts:
lou33 · 28/05/2003 21:16

Ds has never said I love you, sniff , sniff. I think he refuses to say it because I am desperate to hear it!
