They are NC 27/08. I called at beginning of the month and the guy said should be 2/3 weeks. The next time i called he said i was in final que and shouldnt be too much longer. Called twice this week once to say i had additional evidence and was told to wait 25 weeks and called again yesterday to be told the same thing. So im confused, or i feel like its been denied and they didnt want to tell me.

Princessmom222 · 21/11/2025 19:09

Not a DLA related question. But i have a UC review on wednesday and im really anxious about it. Not had one before and im worried they are going to try and stop our money or something.

Has anyone had one? And how did it go? Im really anxious about it and cant stop worrying.

Thanks in advance

I had one recently and was absolutely
nothing to worry about, a lady called me and just asked me what certain transitions going in and out my bank were. Took me about a year to find them on my online banking to try and work out what each was but she was very understanding and patient. A little intrusive but nothing to worry about

Thank you so much for replying to my post. Thats made me feel a whole lot better. I sometimes need to lend money of family to get by since my husband left work. Do you think they will be okay with this?

Seems suspicious 🤔 but given how long processes between my family and medical or government go I'm bound to be pessimistic.
I would say try again next week and if still no joy maybe try reaching out to your local MP as given you keep getting different information its not unreasonable to look for outside guidance or support from someone in the government.
Funnily enough I was about to email mine about my daughter when the GP actually started taking her symptoms seriously... after almost 2 years granted but we are literally just waiting for him to confirm diagnosis so we can get referrals done to the right places.
Worth a shot if you are really worried especially as it's for more than 1 child so thats double the pressure.

Also if it had been denied surely calling and using option 4 would tell you? I know the call handlers aren't supposed to say however explain this isn't a normal stressed mum this is a mum just trying to see what's going on with not just one claim but 2 as its twins both claiming so double the stress and anxiety.

Good luck for Monday if you choose to call again.

I haven’t seen many people with COC on here, I know there’s a few people in May and someone in April waiting, majority from the past few months have been March and early April and they have had decisions. I’ll call again on Friday and hopefully get someone with a better attitude🤣X

I’m coc sd 24/6 lol so I’m in for the long haul too 😭

I always call using option 4 for that reason, as i always think if a decision has been made they would tell me. Thank you if it gets to 25 weeks i will do that, uts awful that youve had too in the past.

I will probable ring wednesday or thursday and il let you know how i get on.

Just to give everyone an update.
NC SD 14/10
Called yesterday and was told a decision had been made but not what...
Called back with options 1-5-1-4 this morning and the lovely lady informed me my son has been awarded MRC and LRM for 2 years!
Yes not a super long award but thats 2 years for getting diagnosis and treatments started, thats 1.5 years to gather evidence ready for renewal in 2027.
This award allows me to be present and keep my son safe and get him the support he deserves.
I am so thankful gor all the advice and support I have received here.
Thank you

Many congratulations to you and your lil one at least can relax for 2 years ! X

SassyPearlMember · 22/11/2025 18:48

Hey parents I know I have my sons dla sorted and im grateful for all the support here in connection to that but my brain had a random thought... what sort of drama do I have on my hands with UC to backdate? Is this going to be a relatively easy task or do I need to brace for drama and stress?
I swear my brain gave me about 30 hours of relaxation that it was all done before it slapped me with the "to be continued" right in the middle of prepping my familys version of chaos theory cottage pie 🤣
Thank you

Phew ok so logically not much drama 😅 that's good I have enough drama just trying to make a meal everyone will eat at home, outside forces on top would probably have me scream singing at my dish water 🤣

Haha 😂it’s the whole waiting game that gets me I hate it No not really I have seen a couple of people having trouble with there’s but my friend has recently done hers and they sorted it all with back pay in the space of 11 days

That's good then. Any backpay will be going towards a course for me that restart were mulling over helping me get onto and a decent enough laptop to actually do the course.
Funny they know I am a SEN mum and a teaching assistant course would allow me to work while my son is at school and be available for him outside of school hours but they have been pushing me towards jobs that provide 0 support for my sons schedule. 🤦🏼‍♀️
Hopefully this will help me achieve that as let's face it we need more teaching assistants who are SEN trained especially in our local primary schools.

Totally understand we’re your coming from I think some school don’t have enough staff or enough sen teachers my oldest is in a mainstream school she does get support from the senco also one to one and I get Daily feedback on how she’s been but for my youngest it’s completely different she’s on the waiting list for a sen school as as hospital and healthvistor have made it very

Clear that a Ms school will not meet her needs

My son is in mainstream, his school has one guaranteed assistant per year group then maybe 2/3 that float for cover. However thats cover from year 1 to year 6. There's not enough. The one in my sons year is supposed to be a 1-2-1 but because of demand she has at least 6 she is monitoring not including my son. Until diagnosis they can't add him to her list but she shouldn't have a list or at least not that many on her own when she's supposed to be 1-2-1.
My sons school has already said if I get started on the course I cn do placement/volunteer hours with them. Plus the course has a job guarantee so as long as finish and pass they will help me find a job if my school doesn't have funding. Though I will probably do part time paid at the "job" and part time at my sons school just to help in my community.
More trained staff means more children getting the support they need during their formative education years.
Sorry ranting school and support has been a very long wait 😅

100% totally agree there needs to be more Sen teachers out there I see so many children not getting the support they need espically wirh there being limited places in Sen schools I had to fight tooth and nail to get my youngest into one and that was with support from hospital health visitor and salt the whole system annoys me at times no don’t be sorry for the rant lol I rant to haha good luck in everything hun 😊

Morning
Good luck to anyone calling today and fingers crossed you the decision for your child they deserve x

Momof3boys2girls · 24/11/2025 10:24

Mr 13/05/25

called Friday as needed to give additional evidence as my daughters appointment finally came through for the cardiologist.
asked if I were able to send in the letter and they said claims with the DM - and to call back Monday for an update. Called this morning got through straight away. Still with DM and said it can take a while to even get a decision.
the wait is starting to take its toll and the constant appointments is costing a fortune. She has appointments near enough every 3 to 4 weeks and this would help so much if she gets Dla.

anyone know roughly how long it can be with a DM?

Leahjadee97 · 24/11/2025 10:51

Hi all, NC- SC- 29/10
Patiently (impatiently) waiting 😬 New claims do seem to be processing quite quick at the moment,
when do you think would be an appropriate time to call for the first time and chance it for an update?
Thanks everyone and good luck!
