I saw on fb that someone with a scan date of 23/09 got a text this morning!

Lynseyxx · 25/10/2025 13:18

With a decision? Wow! It’s madness that they do some quicker than others, or I suppose it depends on whose desk they land on maybe?

Yeah I didn’t expect it to be that quick, my scan date is 24/09 so I’m hoping it’s soon as well!

Anyone waiting for renewal? Keep seeing alot of renewals turned down!

my renewal was rejected on the 22nd. My daughter has gone from MRC and LRM to nothing 😩 I am awaiting the letter with the reasons - although they did share that her needs are typical of that of an 11year old, despite us having to supervise play, support with wash/bath time. There's no chance she could even attempt to cross a road. Diagnoses letters were sent. They also said as she is in a mainstream school with no EHCP she no longer qualifies!!! I'm so upset for her. The payment was supporting her with extra tutoring (she's 3 years behind) and dance lessons to help with co-ordination and socialising. I've almost thrown the towel in - but i'm ready! spoke to them on the phone yesterday and started the ball rolling next is the form, then a LONG wait for another decision.

Mine is due November. Apparently they are making most renewal decisions the week it's due to end.

ours was up on the 13th Nov - decision made on the 22nd Oct. Unfortunately, we have had our award stopped and are no longer entitled. Hope it goes well for you 🙂

brc13 · 25/10/2025 17:58

I’ve just seen a NC on fb awarded and they only waited 4 weeks😮 hopefully they don’t go over for renewals as people are getting letters from carers saying their money is stopping when their award ends, so guessing the same things happens for UC when you don’t have an update when your award ends, which is a joke as it isn’t our fault they are taking so long😬 surely the NC backlog is down that they are only taking between 4-6 weeks🤔X

Original award Jan 23 to Jan 25 MRC & LRM.
Denied at renewal.
MR 31.12.24.
Awarded July 25, LRC for 1 year (renewal due again).
Tribunal created July 25, dwp given until 12th August to respond, no response and extended to 3rd October. Still no response.
I contacted the courts 16th Oct 25 and requested the case be heard without DWP.
I have today received a letter to state Hearing must take place within the next 28days without DWPs evidence or representation.

Keep chasing, dont give up the fight for your little one.

My daughters 11 and also currently on MRC and LRM. I'm guessing hers will be a decline cos the same no ehcp and in mainstream school. Seems to be reoccurring for kids of this age!

I thought it didn’t matter if they had an ehcp or mai stream school? Have a feeling my nc will be denied now then if this is the case. Ehcp’s are like gold dust these days

My DDs statement of reasons for decline was no ehcp and attends mainstream. Of course during the MR i expressed that an ehcp is not a requirement for dla and specialist school placements are few and far between. Her current school have made the necessary adaptions needed.

100% fight it.

My COC scan date is 8/4 too, my children are on half term now and go back the day we are 30 weeks so I’m holding off calling until then, hopefully we get a positive decision 🤞

SENgirlmum · 26/10/2025 09:49

Can anyone offer some advice/guidance. I am applying for a MR following our renewal being denied and going from MRC and LRM to nothing. Our last payment is due in 2 weeks and I have started to cancel the therapy and tutoring we use the payment for. Do you think if I called and explained the detrimental effect this will have on my child, they would review earlier? Going to nothing at all has been a shock and I’m also concerned about the lack of focus from the DM in reading our review application. I’m so frustrated. Someone suggested cancelling the MR and entering a NC - but I’m not sure this is the right thing to do…. Advice welcome - I feel so lost and hurt for my daughter…

It shouldn’t matter in my opinion and didn’t in our first application. School have put all reasonable adjustments and adaptations in place for her so our EHCP was rejected as her needs are being suitably met - and I agree, they are. I did send the SEN provision report from school which outlines what is in place and why but I really don’t think it’s been read. I feel like the whole renewal form has been overlooked and now we are back in a cycle of waiting.

Harrysmummy2016 · 23/10/2025 17:18

Thank you, I'm just so angry with them, another 6 month fight and they didn't even look at everything in the first place. Yours should be with someone soon, if you're a week behind me, I'd say it would be assigned to someone this week x

I feel your pain. I think there is a huge issue with DM not reviewing applications and reviews effectively. My reasons are quite ridiculous given the evidence I provided. I started the MR process on Friday over the phone and will continue via the form I’ve downloaded this weekend. It’s utterly unfair that our children have to wait so long because the information hasn’t been reviewed well. I’ve posted about us going from MRC and LRM to nothing - it’s utter madness! Gggrrrrr…. Keep going !

TwinssMummyy · 26/10/2025 10:41

I did my twins MR on 18/09. How long am I looking at wait times? I originally sent off 25/03.

SophiePie · 26/10/2025 10:58

Princessmom222 · 21/10/2025 12:24

NC are getting done a lot faster. If you have more evidence to send in they generally say you have 30 days when a decision is made to send of any extra evidence.

Ah I see, thank you

FakeItUntilIMakeIt · 26/10/2025 11:04

Does anyone know how long renewals are taking at the moment. I had my sons forms just before the summer holidays so it took a while to get hold of all the information.

You are in a similar situation to us, we had our renewal stopped to nothing even though we had been previously awarded of hrc and lrm for 6years prevous renwals was stayed the same until the last renewal, it has had a detrimenal finacial effect to the support my child was accessing.
There is something wrong in the system of forms and evidence not being looked at throughly.
I did a MR in april and still waiting for it to be looked at, I don't think calling will expedite it being looked into quicker but its always worth a try. I cannot advise you wether to do a MR or new claim. MR are taking way past the expected 25weeks to be looked at.
