I don’t think I will fight it. I was shocked they even awarded the HRC and I don’t want to risk the whole claim being looked at again. I think mine was done alongside the renewal x

Hi everyone is it possible to start a fresh and do a new claim I don’t think I have it in me to to do tribunal I got the letter from MR today. It say award stopped form 16th October. Xxx

Please take it to tribunal, if you do a new claim and its denied again, thats 2 years worth youve missed out on. If you bring it to tribunal itll all be back dated

silent reader!!
and I’m having a Rant!!

I’ve discussed this with Dla!!

mobility

my child is smi but still receiving lrm!’
due to walking but refusing at times then the meltdowns

if a child can walk, but displays behavioural issues, Ie throws themselves on floor, road, pavement, refuses to move, bolts, shows flight, climbs out windows, runs into other houses, Stimming and no control or no awareness of danger and needs constant supervision
then can be awarded low rate mobility
(Evidence is needed)

Hrm is extremely difficult to get and clamping down

the amount I’ve read who discuss there annoyance in the system the questions asked
then a few on fb who can I get a car on LRM

how does the car option work on HRM
before even being awarded!!

You cannot get a car at all from motability if your on LRM. It is impossible you have to have HRM to get a car. Some peoples children who are severely disabled can get a car through family fund and then mobility takes iver when HRM is granted at 3

That is the quickest COC I think I’ve ever seen. Was this for both care and mobility? Congratulations

Thank you and Yess It was for both but only got awareded for care from middle to high, I was shocked didn’t expect anything till next year, I got a text today and the dession was made on the 21st x

Belle09 · 24/10/2025 12:50

All Very frustrating and challenging in many ways
Unfortunately it’s all about financial side on here!

ECHPS the fight all us parents have for our children (2 years of fighting for me and finally got it
but guess what no school with spaces to accommodate needs
but what about the Sen school shortage in the meantime
the children who are suffering

what is being done about this ?
does anyone know how we go about this ?

Mine is due November. Apparently they are making most renewal decisions the week it's due to end.

Absolutely nobody is getting HRM if they're not entitled either. Yes loads arent getting it when they need it and its a shit system, but dont villainise those who have it because you assume they don't need it

COC SD 12/05 claiming for HRM - declined.
RENEWAL current claim due to end 19/12 but it’s been changed and HRC awarded until 2032!! Backdated from 23/04. I am beyond relieved!! Despite not getting the mobility, I am relieved my girl got the right award for care!

Congratulations on the HRC being awarded😊 my SD is 06/05 so I’m going to call see if it’s with a DM yet X

Me for one. I have so much proof throughout the evidence I’ve sent in that my child is smi, every second of everyday and yes that does include mobility needs but also care needs. I still know I will probably have to fight for it despite having all the evidence.

Thank you I just want it over now stressing me out reading everyone story’s mines due 14th when is yours due? Xxx

LoudAquaViper · 24/10/2025 13:26

I know this is completely off the subject of HRM as I’m not going for that at all. I am however going for HRC and I’m extremely nervous he will get declined again. I have however sent the following as evidence:

MR statement from my self explaining why I disagree with their decision to decline
health visitor report
portage report from his child development advisor
IEP
school report from his headteacher
Enhanced inclusion grant (decision tool)
sleep diary
statement from his mum explaining the help I need with my son during the nights.

even having all this evidence sent off I’m still worried he may get declined again because I just don’t know who will be looking at his case.

My daughter received her ehcp just before starting school this September, I was told mainstream could meet her needs, one term in and she’s doing 1 hour a day and they have called a emergency ehcp review, first they said it was to have a 1-1 put on the ehcp and now they've change it to her needing to be in a sen school. It’s like they want to try mainstream schools to cut costs before Sen school.

1000% theres so many children who've had to fight to get it and its a disgrace, thats why im saying theres no child on it that isn't entitled. There is however loads that have been put on lrm that are entitled to HRM. Some who fight (like you and me) because we know are children are entitled and some who have no idea that theyre entitled so just struggle through.
