Hello has anyone put in a reconsideration recently and it's been resolved faster, like NC seem to be? I've did one today as they haven't accepted my reasoning for late form and have not backdated nothing.

Theres been a couple people on here and FB that have done an mr or coc in September/ October and they have had a decision I’m sure in 4/5 weeks so think it could possibly be just scan dates from April to August that are in the backlog but I could be wrong and wouldn’t want to get your hopes up just incase that isn't the case X

Decision made this morning.
She has gone from MRC to HRC backdated to March and then is being awarded LRM from next month when she turns 5, now I’m in a dilemma because I was going to do a MR if she didn’t get HRM but they’ve given her a 7 year award and I’m not sure I want to mess it up 😵‍💫

Oh wow at least they sorted it great outcome. I mean it’s a hard one I don’t know what I would do.

Congratulations so happy for you🥹 gutted for you that you weren’t awarded HRM😭 that’s a tricky one as 7 years is a good time to be awarded for but if you for sure have the right evidence and are adamant your child should receive HRM and it’s a case of they haven’t looked through it thoroughly enough then I would wait a little while to see if there isn’t much of a backlog and try a COC again then X

I’m happy with the award and relieved that it’s finally over but I’m still alittle disappointed with the hrm part ( but I know it’s still going to be hard to get ) I think I will have a think over the weekend or do like you’ve suggest with a COC in the future, I never in a million years thought they would do a 7 year award, I’m just happy I won’t have to now do a renewal for her until she is 12 now

I called them up, received a message saying they'll look into the backdating cos they kept ignoring me, then i can see the backdated money pending tomorrow in my bank but still not had a reply from them lol! Plus the backdated money is £60 less than it should be for 3 months of money so I don't know how they work it out lol. Call them and they have 48hours to respond about it xx

Hey did you ring xxx

I would be disappointed too. I know someone that tried to get mobility when their child was 4 and they declined because any child at 4/5 with or without disabilities could still be in a stroller and have no sense of danger when outside (not saying that’s why you’ve been declined but just a reason they have used for declining) so at least if your child is a bit older when you decide to try again and you believe they still deserve the HRM, they wouldn’t be able to say things like that so it’s a hard one X

I was in the same situation with one of my sons he was awarded hrc and lrm for 8 years when he was 5. I decided not to fight them incase it messed up his long award. Hes now 8 and he is still in a mobility pushchair and non verbal with no danger awareness he also a flight risk. I'm considering doing a change of circumstance but still not sure because he still got 5 years on his award.

Congrats the wait is finally over hoping I will hear next week at some point now !!
I only got LRm when my son was 5 I was going to appeal but didn't hence the coc now he's nearly 7 and award is up in Jan so I'm praying they can now see why he needs hrm as hes still in a disability pram at 7 x

I've sent a MC in today! Hopefully this is not too long, I am happy with what my child was awarded but I didn't get no backdated money- although clearly stated in form why was late and was only 8 days late. I'm hoping this is accepted! Anyone else done a MR based on the date it was backdated to?

StanleyParents · 12/11/2025 15:43

Just had a missed call from a decision maker we believe, calling back in 15 minutes wish us luck!

StanleyParents · 12/11/2025 16:05

So MR 25/4 spoke to the decision maker, and she was fantastic.

Started off the call by confirming that she believes we are correct in that they never looked at all the evidence and took SMI into account for HRM, we spent 15 minutes discussing his behaviour and going through the challenges we as parents face.

There where a few questions I could tell where being used to trip us up, things like "does this only happen on the way to school" or "can you coerce him with rewards when he is having a refusal episode" but overall i think we may get the result we are hoping for.

She finally mentioned she will need to get advice from a medical expert and is hoping to have a decision out by the end of the week.

Fingers crossed!

LizzieLoulabell · 12/11/2025 16:46

Anyone know how long of a wait I’m looking at. I did late evidence after a COC was denied. And when I rang they basically said there isn’t a time frame. Any one else done this, this is instead of a MR.
