does everyone who’s about to get a decision or a award on their MR receive a phone call?

coeliacsucks · 01/11/2025 20:57

Hi all, I’ve just put in a new claim for my daughter was told in a text 25 weeks but the letter says 16 so who knows. This will be the third time applying but we have her diagnosis now so fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Mumof1xox · 01/11/2025 22:05

@Kirz25049 Hi, do all MRs receive a phone call? I’m a bit worried as I have the same scan date, but I haven’t received a call yet.

Oh 100% i would much rather have my children not have the struggles they face on a daily basis. My oldest has just had her EHCP approved as she is severely autistic/ADHD/gdd and is 4/5 years behind and stuggles on a daily basis with everything. I had to get professional help as it was too much myself so i know exactly how you feel. Im a qualified SEN teacher so i thought id be well equipped but im definitely out of my depth. Haha its hard. If you ever need someone to talk to or any help, feel free to private message me and im more then willing to try and give you advice or give a friendly ear.

Bless you my son is in the process of seeing if he will be excepted for one everything is a waiting game lol …mine don’t have a diagnosis yet but things have moved in the right direction since getting the ball rolling no one listen to me until they were 18months old I just new something was different with having 2 other children and they have not long turned 4 so hoping by 5 they will have their diagnosis.
i think we learn new things all the time when it comes to our kids and the spectrum at least u can use what you learn in your job too.
Thank you I may take you up on that x

Everything is a waiting game your right. Hopefully your son will get one and get the right support he needs. As it really does make a huge impact for them. It is so hard to get people to take you seriously. I have had to fight for my oldest since she was 2 as people wouldnt take me seriously. She has only recently been diagnosed and she is 9. But since her referals i found it easier for people to take me more seriously. I kept getting told im looking into it too much as i see it all the time. She is very high on the spectrum and is unable to do anything for herself. I have had to quit my job as my childrens needs are far more important. I get called into school on a daily basis to help regulate two of my children. My husband had to quit his too as our twins are really bad too so he needs to be at home with them whilst im constantly called into school. Defintely do as its always good to have someone to talk to especially someone who understands what you are going through.

I got a call yesterday to ask about my sons needs when he is out as it’s the mobility side to the claim I submitted a mr for then the man said if they need anymore information they will call me & I’ll get a. decision letter within 7-10 days so I’m going to call tomorrow to see if a decision has been made

StanleyParents · 02/11/2025 21:30

Mr submitted on 26th April I believe so looks like decision is due very soon, hoping to get mobility but not holding my breath, feel like my son meets all the criteria for SMI but I know they just dont give it out, not sure if I have the energy to try and take it to tribunal or not, good luck to anyone else

Mine was the 25th & got a call Saturday asking for more information so hopefully you hear back soon & god willing you don’t have to take it to the tribunal & get the outcome you want

Mumof1xox · 03/11/2025 09:26

I called this morning regarding my MR, and it still hasn’t been allocated to anyone. The lady I spoke with said they’re currently working on cases from the beginning of April and advised me to wait until the end of the month for an update.

Curlycookie5 · 03/11/2025 09:33

Good luck anyone calling today, I will be calling tomorrow when I will be 30 weeks for a COC, it looks like the wait times have gone up to 31 weeks for COC so hopefully not much longer to wait 🤞

My mr was 25th April I called this morning & a decision was made but apparently they can’t tell me over the phone it’s just a joke considering you wait how long then have to wait for a letter anxious about the outcome or waiting for a payment to reach your account

Normally if you call on option 1,5,1,4 they can tell you. Hope you get a good outcome. I’m 22/04 called this morning and still with DM

Mumof1xox · 03/11/2025 09:41

@Kirz250496 I’ve got the same scan date, but mine hasn’t even been allocated to anyone yet 😕. I think I might be waiting an extra week or two. Try calling and selecting options 1, 5, 1, 4 they should be able to give you an update. Hope this helps, and good luck! x

I've also called this morning, MR 3/04 and still not allocated to anyone. I think there's only one other with a March MR date that's behind me, that I've seen on FB.

It's been a whole year this week since it was originally submitted.

I asked to speak to a manager but was refused.
Lady was really lovely and kept apologising but still can't believe how inconsistent the dates are.

Anyone waiting for UC to reply about a change in rates? They seem to take forever to respond these days!
