New claims are really quick at the moment so I would probably call to find out why they have called you

she has rang me, said she has more than enough information to make a decision today, and I will get a text today! I did say I have more evidence and she said she had enough so hopefully it’s good news

Wow, they really are taking the piss now, they need to put something in to place, its over 3 months waiting!
I'm fuming, over 7 months wait for them not to look at everything, they just put about his walking and yes I did mention that, I also wrote 7 pages of evidence for his behaviours. I've got a letter from my family support worker and she's done each point of the SMI, so I'm going to do my own letter and then evidence it to that and then the school are doing me something as well. Does global development delay go towards being severely mentally impaired?

I would say evidence of GDD would go towards the points made in the test for smi. They don’t seem to like giving out HRM especially under the SMI criteria but really if your claiming under that criteria they need to be reading all the evidence to make sure all the points are there to qualify. I’m stressing about mine, I know all the evidence is there but there is so many people being turned down Hrm and evidence not being looked at 😞 I think you may get it with your MR with all the support for people writing letters, my daughter has only just started school so it’s probably a rubbish time to be doing her coc, if she was in preschool still they would have backed me all the way because they know her and her needs and this school just can’t cope with her and lack the correct support, we’re waiting on emergency ehcp review too to try and get her into a specialist school aswell but it’s not going to be done before my COC decision. I just wish people would listen when I said mainstream wasn’t going to work 🙄 now look 1 term in and they can’t.

That sounds positive especially if she doesn’t need the extra evidence, good luck, I would call at 4 it would probably show the decision by then instead of waiting all weekend wondering 😵‍💫

Hey, have you heard anything yet? I got my statement of reasons before my decision letter! Its literally one paragraph, doesn't mention that I even sent in an EHCP or letters from his consultant, just says they looked at a medical letter! I'm so angry. I've started doing his MR, hoping to get it done by next week and sent off

Oh no that is so frustrating.
I spoke to a manager on the phone after creating some drama over the phone 😂. They confirmed that if you send in late evidence within one month of the decision it goes back to the DM and they look at it again. However the evidence has to be dated prior to decision date (so no new evidence suggesting worsening condition otherwise will trigger a new change of circumstances). Perhaps it may be worth gathering ALL evidence you have, writing parental statements and asking for a revision of the decision.
I also spoke to an advisor before speaking to a manager about this who made inappropriate comments about why I'm not happy with an MRC award and only children on night medicine get HRC (totally untrue as my daughter gets it and never had night medicine) and suggested I put a latch on my son’s door to prevent him going to the kitchen at night 🙄 Her comments infuriated me to no end until I spoke to a manager who apologised for the comments.
So there is clearly lots of nonsense going on at the DWP. Perhaps try the late evidence to see if that helps and then do an MR?

She got HR care and LR mobility. I made a mistake though, I have managed to send the form they sent July back rather than the one I got in August so they have not backdated this.

Lynseyxx · 31/10/2025 14:19

Hello I made a NC 23rd sep they received this the 25th. I have had decision this morning my daughter has got HRC and LRM, they have stated on the phone I sent July form back rather than the one I requested in August so she’s not had the back pay from the day I got the form. Anyone else done this before? I have adhd myself and I can’t believe I’ve managed to make that mistake.

Is anyone still waiting on UC to verify? In Feb they verified my daughter the very next day but DC4 is taking a while?

Thats what i wanna know ive been waiting a month now they just keep saying we're waiting on the job centre to verify it how long have you been waiting x

The date they confirm as receiving it is your scan date. Unless you called for the forms wif that's the case they then back date it to the date you called for the forms providing the front cover with the date is sent with the forms.

Phoned and got told my renewal was staying the same rates, got paid normally 28th for MRC and lrm, but can see i have a pending payment for monday of £547.50, any ideas what this is for? The renewal was due by 13th of November but i presumed it'd all stay the same due to rates not changing? My next payment wasn't due until 25th November.

Edited

Hey did you find out what the extra payment was for I ring them. Mabey they put her on high rate care when did you send your form back ? Xxx

Curlycookie5 · 30/10/2025 13:41

Are you COC aswell? I totally agree with you, I’ve met far too many of these people and I find it insulting, it’s taking away the support from the children that actually need it and it’s awful! Makes me so angry!

yes I am COC 18weeks in counting lol but seems I may have a long way to go I plan to call in a few weeks hopefully they have progressed since the last call 3 weeks ago lol
And yes it really does people don’t care when it don’t effect them😭😭(Am I replying to these correct haha don’t know if my last reply to someone was a post 😅)

I third you both with that. (I CAN NAME TWO FAMILIES) I get questioned all the time because i have started claiming for my children. I also get looked down on for it too. I have 5 children (2 with diagnosed autism/adhd and other serious health issues) my twins are also suspected autism/adhd and i have a daughter with severe adhd. The daughter with severe adhd i am not claiming for as her needs for me are not severe and my children with autism have global develelopmental delay.

Aw you sound like you have your hands full there girlie and my twins are too we’re in the process up to waiting for paediatric appointments my boy is severe the girlie is low I don’t claim for her it was manageable but now the tide has turned 😅but because she’s so different to her brother I want profession help I did my sons myself so going to wait for the paediatrician to help me and no it’s makes u feel like poop doesn’t it but we would much rather our children where like ones that don’t suffer the way they do and have “normal” lives I think it’s jealousy from people honestly and there’s nothing to be jealous about what we go through no amount of money in the world is worth it!! )sorry for the essay lol). Yeah i called them, turns out she did get high rate care not stayed on middle like I was told! So it's the difference backdated from middle to high rate. Xx

When I called they said it had stayed the same rates and even said middle rate care then I saw the payment and called up and got told no it's high rate and that payment is the difference from July when I sent no renewal forms back. It confused me I was happy with middle rate didn't think I'd had enough evidence for high rate so I'm chuffed xx

Oh 100% i would much rather have my children not have the struggles they face on a daily basis. My oldest has just had her EHCP approved as she is severely autistic/ADHD/gdd and is 4/5 years behind and stuggles on a daily basis with everything. I had to get professional help as it was too much myself so i know exactly how you feel. Im a qualified SEN teacher so i thought id be well equipped but im definitely out of my depth. Haha its hard. If you ever need someone to talk to or any help, feel free to private message me and im more then willing to try and give you advice or give a friendly ear.

It’s nice to know they are working weekends to get the wait times down. I would imagine they will make their decision today so you should be able to call to find out on Monday. Good luck

Mines with a decision maker and also 27 weeks (28 weeks on Tuesday) no calls as of yet though. I’m so anxious!

I was well surprised it being a Saturday & most people saying about a 30 week wait as I would have been waiting 28 weeks next Friday, I mean no evidence was asked just to explain a little as it’s just lrm I was applying for as I was already awarded mrc for my boy then once I said about him not being aware when we’re out, stepping into roads, sending my eldest boy into hospital due to hitting him in the head over because he has a thing of wanting to press the traffic light button & that day my eldest pressed it instead of him, me not really wanting to go out due to it all as bad as it sounds & he just said about expecting a letter within 7-10 days with the decision so fingers crossed it’s a good outcome. I’m just surprised they have people wait this long to potentially get nothing or they should atleast set something up so you don’t have to call & people can check online

Kirz250496 · 01/11/2025 16:13

Does anyone know too if they don’t ask about verification of bank details, if they are still the same etc is that a sign of a decline or does it not matter? Not sure if anyone been awarded a mr without this being asked as I’ve seen some people say they have been asked this but not sure if that means a positive outcome or not just a bit stressed as they called me today & now have to wait til Monday to see if a decision has been made so has made me quite anxious as they didn’t ask me to confirm I still have the same details
