Hey I rang up just to change my number because my old one change tomorrow a decision was made today my daughter gone from middle rate care to high rate care and stayed on low rate mobility I’m so happy for her not sure if I have to tell if of change cuz they already no she on middle rate xxx

Yes you will need to let UC know that you've gone from middle rate to high rate. And give the dates the change has applied from so that it can be backdated.

Congratulations I’m glad you’ve finally received your daughters decision, you need to do a change on uc to tell them your daughter now gets hrc but double check the date they have awarded hrc from first before doing the change on uc because renewals aren’t normally backdated

Just said it shouldn’t be too long again. And told me to wait for a letter :-/

It wasn’t that long ago that COC didn’t go over 30 weeks and now we haven’t got a clue when we will get a decision 😞 hopefully it won’t be much longer

So Ive finally got round to calling for an update. Hadn't realised im actually on week 18. Anyway spoke to a call handler abd they've said that the twins application is at the top of the que and should have a decision with in a week to 2 weeks time. So we shall see.

Finger crossed for you that theyre actually telling you the truth! Thanks for keeping me informed. We are on week 10 so if thats the case mines going to be after christmas. I rang yesterday and said 25 weeks to me. So stressful waiting.

If your renewal stays the same rates, do payments continue as normal like mine was due to run out the 13th but they've accepted renewal for the same rates, do my payments just continue every 4 weeks? Thanks x

Are you COC aswell? I totally agree with you, I’ve met far too many of these people and I find it insulting, it’s taking away the support from the children that actually need it and it’s awful! Makes me so angry!

I third you both with that. (I CAN NAME TWO FAMILIES) I get questioned all the time because i have started claiming for my children. I also get looked down on for it too. I have 5 children (2 with diagnosed autism/adhd and other serious health issues) my twins are also suspected autism/adhd and i have a daughter with severe adhd. The daughter with severe adhd i am not claiming for as her needs for me are not severe and my children with autism have global develelopmental delay.

Does anybody no roughly how long uc take to backdate im over a month now since I informed them that I now get dla for my son thanks xx

Lynseyxx · 31/10/2025 11:34

I had a voicemail just now to say they was ringing regarding my daughter (DLA). Anyone else had this is this just for more information?

Hey, have you heard anything yet? I got my statement of reasons before my decision letter! Its literally one paragraph, doesn't mention that I even sent in an EHCP or letters from his consultant, just says they looked at a medical letter! I'm so angry. I've started doing his MR, hoping to get it done by next week and sent off

Nope nothing, they said it’s waiting to be handed over to a case manager yesterday, I will be 30 weeks on Tuesday but I think it’s going to be more like 31-32 weeks before I hear anything. That’s awful especially after the length of time you waited for a decision, with your MR do a statement of the smi test and go through all the evidence you have and copy it onto each test it applies to and say what evidence it has come from, that way it will all be on that one statement so even if they don’t read through every piece of evidence with your MR they have it all there in black and white. Good luck I hope you get the right outcome in the end 🤞

When I called yesterday he said that a dm might call if they need extra information, what sort of claim is yours?

Wow, they really are taking the piss now, they need to put something in to place, its over 3 months waiting!
I'm fuming, over 7 months wait for them not to look at everything, they just put about his walking and yes I did mention that, I also wrote 7 pages of evidence for his behaviours. I've got a letter from my family support worker and she's done each point of the SMI, so I'm going to do my own letter and then evidence it to that and then the school are doing me something as well. Does global development delay go towards being severely mentally impaired?

Lynseyxx · 31/10/2025 12:59

NC, SD 23 sep think it was. Aww that’s great if it’s a decision maker that fast! I have sent her diagnosis report but I had extra information to send. I hadn’t sent it yet due to me thinking it was gonna take a long time. I wonder if I could email her this or just read it out to her on the phone x

Kirstygingee · 31/10/2025 13:27

Phoned and got told my renewal was staying the same rates, got paid normally 28th for MRC and lrm, but can see i have a pending payment for monday of £547.50, any ideas what this is for? The renewal was due by 13th of November but i presumed it'd all stay the same due to rates not changing? My next payment wasn't due until 25th November.

New claims are really quick at the moment so I would probably call to find out why they have called you
