Hi,
SD 24/6 coc 18weeks in called a few weeks ago the lady told me mine wouldn’t be touched yet as it’s a “newer” claim whatever that mean so from the looks of what I have been reading dates don’t mean a thing 😭im wanting change from MRC -HRC and HRM for my 4 year old son anyone near my date been done. X

My SD is 06/05 for COC and 25 weeks yesterday . I’ve seen a few 12/06 being done for COC and a few in May but there’s still people waiting from end March/beginning of April and are 30/31 weeks now. A lot of April/may still waiting. It’s not done exactly in date order seems to be whoever desk it lands on and how quick they get through claims so it’s unknown when they will be done at this point. Good luck😊X

You’ve seen some end of March still waiting? I thought March was finished, guessing it’s going to be more like 31 weeks before I get a decision then 😞

I was told up to 35 weeks when I called this week 🤐

🤯 I hope not! This wait time can’t keep going up! I will be 30 weeks on Tuesday that’s long enough to be waiting for a decision.

It’s outrageous isn’t it? I did ask why they were raking much longer. I was advised that MR have it be assigned to a different DM (as we know) and they often take longer to review. They said they are working as quick as possible. I only logged mine last week as we’ve gone from MRC and LRM to NIL… I’m still in shock from the decision. I tried to find out what order they are looked at in. The answer was ‘it depends which DM they land with’ but they try and stick to the date the MR was logged. It’s a messed up process - they could really make it much better. I hope you’re not waiting too much longer. I am sorry you have to deal with this x

Yeah there is people waiting and are 31 weeks, when I called on Friday they said they where on end of March too and mine would be a few more months🙈 they must be taking longer because they won’t give us a timescale anymore😬X

MR scan date 28/05 received a call from the decision maker around an hour ago. She was extremely blunt and dismissive of my daughter’s age and I felt like she really didn’t give me much room to speak. Why an earth would you feel the need to repeats 100 times all 2 year olds need help with changing/ bathing ect (she’s nearly 3) when you can clearly see she has been awarded equipment from OT and OT has make decision that our home is unsafe for our child’s need. Nursery struggling with funding and only have her one hour a week due to lack of staff for 1-1 (EHCP in process) sleep specialist reports, support letters from portage, paediatricians. I’m so upset I feel so dismissed. I’ve been fighting this for a year advocating for my child for the sake to be over spoken and shut down for 20 minutes straight and they more than likely another decline. I’m so tired of this.

This will be because your child is so young and any other child would still need the same support dressing etc

Can you not call and say that it’s causes financial hardship not being able to provide the right support for your child now their claim has been denied? And it needs to be looked at again asap? I’m sure I’ve read somewhere before you can do that if the award has been lower? I don’t know what’s going on with all these awards being lowered and declined just lately.

It’s getting ridiculous the wait times just keep going up all the time 😞 It feels like forever we’ve been waiting already. Surely they need to be getting them down soon I’ve never seen them go over 30 weeks throughout my time on these threads.

I see more May and June being awarded now and think oh it’s moving along now but then remember you are April and still waiting so I could wait the same amount🙈 I’ve been in these threads since January and we thought the NC backlog over the Christmas period was because of the holidays and it wasn’t it was this backlog we are in getting worse😂 I’m not calling anymore I’m just waiting to see and if I don’t hear anything by 30 weeks I’ll chase them up X

MR SD 22/04
just called and told it’s now with a case manager, is this not a decision maker? My stress and anxiety has gone through the roof!

Oh I don’t know! I could try I suppose. I am having to cancel the therapy and enrichment sessions I was using her entitlement for. I’m gutted. I might hold off on doing that and give them a call now. Thank you!

Mumof1xox · 30/10/2025 10:12

@LoudAquaViper The case manager handles and checks all the paperwork and evidence for a Dla claim , but they don’t decide the outcome. The decision maker is the person who looks at all the information and makes the final decision about whether you get DLA and at what rate hope this helps x

Mumof1xox · 30/10/2025 10:13

So does the decision maker look at the evidence etc as well?

Mumof1xox · 30/10/2025 10:17

@LoudAquaViper Yes, the decision maker looks at all the evidence the case manager has gathered like medical reports and your form, and then decides

Ahh ok, seems an unnecessary middle man if the decision maker looks at everything anyway. Does DLA normally tell you if it’s gone to the decision maker or does it only show its with a case manager? Sorry for all the questions!

Mumof1xox · 30/10/2025 10:25

@LoudAquaViper no need to apologise, and it definitely does seem like an extra layer, but the case manager’s there to make sure all the info and evidence are gathered properly before it goes to the decision maker. The decision maker then reviews everything and makes the final call. DLA updates usually mention when it’s with a case manager, but they don’t always say when it’s moved to a decision maker, you normally just hear once a decision’s been made.” That’s from my understanding of it anyways x

Thank you so much, been waiting 45 weeks total now so I’m just so anxious especially after being declined completely first time round.

Mumof1xox · 30/10/2025 10:29

@LoudAquaViper I completely get that, I’ve been waiting around the same time too. My scan date is 23rd of april for MR and I got declined the first time as well, so I know how stressful and frustrating it feels. Hopefully we both get some good news soon but I do agree it’s definitely a long process!

I really hope we do. I have plenty of professional evidence now to completely back my boy up. But because we have been declined once already I just have that in the back of my head even though I know he deserves this and the extra support this will give him

Mumof1xox · 30/10/2025 10:35

@LoudAquaViper I know exactly how you feel , it’s hard not to worry after being declined before. I didn’t fill the form out properly the first time, hence to why I got declined, but I’ve got loads of medical evidence now to back everything up too. It definitely sounds like we’re both in a much stronger position this time. Fingers crossed we both get the outcome our kids deserve 🤞❤️
