Hi, I am looking for some advice, I just received the letter from my daughter COC she was awarded HRC and LRM. I am extremely grateful for what she got but the only reason they stated she does not get HRM ( SMI route) is that she only needs supervision and support on unfamiliar routes which I wish was true. She struggles on every route and bolts into the street even the school and GP mention that as she jumped into the road in front of a car going 30MPH, luckily I managed to pull her back just in time. I was wondering if there is worth it to go for am MR as I can easily proof that she needs support on every route ?

Yes if you feel you have the evidence then 100% go to MR xx

Will36 · 06/09/2025 09:57

Autism, communication and toileting issues. Periods of inability to walk so we have a disability chair, but also eloping so have angelsense tracker.

Submitted in Sept 2024.
Awarded MRC in February.
Submitted MR in February,
September 2025 awarded HRC and HRM.

No extra evidence was sent, just pointed out the day/night care again and the mobility flowchart over a 2 page letter.

Good luck, did you get through in time 🤞

Thanks. Yes i did, after over an hour on hold. Still not with DM I'm so done with waiting

Winglessvulture · 06/09/2025 12:23

I received a letter from the DLA today asking for ID for me (I am claiming in behalf of my child). Is this standard procedure? We've never claimed before and it seems odd that they are asking me to send the original documents and not copies of them!

They always ask for original when it comes to birth certs ect. They do randomly ask people to send their children's birth certs and sometimes parents IDs ect i think especially if they werent born here its abit more common

Hopefully it won’t be to much longer now, they seem to be getting through Feb dates now 🤞 you get the right award for your child

GreenYoda · 06/09/2025 21:24

Does anyone know if renewals are typically still only being looked at once they are due? And if they are tending to go overdue as a result?

I know the forms arrived but I’m just a bit impatient.

poppy2024 · 06/09/2025 21:47

Got renewal forms today, how long is the current wait for a decision.

Also, if after the decision, does the new award, start straight away or once the current award finishes ?

@anewnameforme2121 @ProudZebra
Im still waiting too. Have not heard from courts or DLA.. 😢 Early July.. when i spoke to courts last time he did state more likely looking into 2026 wow 😮 why do we have to fight so hard for our Disabled children.. x

Omg 2026 is ridiculous. The only thing I’ve heard bk about was from dla saying they aren’t changing their decision and the “bundle” in the post but that’s it! The whole system is messed up! I know a couple of ppl who get hrc and hrm and openly admit there’s nothing wrong with their kids yet I have proof my lo has both physical and learning disabilities and struggle to get anything 😞

Curlycookie5 · 07/09/2025 01:03

@GreenYoda @poppy2024 Renewals are usually done just before they are due to run out. If rewarded your payments will carry on on the date you would normally receive your child’s Dla payment, the new award would start the day after it runs out even if they made the decision earlier.

cringeywed · 07/09/2025 03:42

Has anyone had to send off their child birth certificate? I wasn’t asked for it for my other child whom also receives DLA?

I received my son’s renewal forms 18 and a half weeks before it was due to run out, if you haven’t heard about and it’s less than that I would call up. This isn’t the same child you’ve just waited ages for is it?

You could call and ask about both tomorrow, some claims are only with a dm for a day so there may even be some news, sorry to hear about your niece hopefully she gets the correct award. I sent my sons renewal back straight away and received the decision for it really early but I know this isn’t the case.

Meglee93 · 07/09/2025 13:27

Hey has anyone on here been awarded and waiting on universal credit? xx

Eggsyummyeggs · 07/09/2025 13:31

I had to send in birth cert for my 3rd child. When I did claim for child 1 and 2 I wasn't asked for birth certs.

Garfieldthecat · 07/09/2025 13:40

I sent in a coc at the beginning of March and haven’t had a decision yet. I’m a bit worried because dd turns 16 soon and we will have to apply for pip for her. It feels a bit of a muddle, especially if they disagree that she should be on HRC and I have to appeal.

What’s your scan date? It all over laps doesn’t it because of the wait times. My friends been waiting 6 months for the outcome of her child moving over to pip. Surely if you had to do a MR they would still have to complete it before the change over?
