My 4 year old was awarded MRC (which I agree with) about 6 months ago. He will soon be 5 and so I would like to apply for LRM as well. Will they contact me or do I need to do a COC myself?

Renewal was sent in 12th June, claim runs out 2nd Oct I called this morning and they said it hadn't been looked at! I received this text 2 hrs later..
We've decided your child qualifies for Disability Living Allowance. You don't need to contact us about this. We'll send you a letter with all you need to know. If you don't get this within 2 weeks please contact us.
is there anyway I can find out what rates l've been awarded rather than having to wait 2 weeks for the letter?
thanks

😂 no way are they on mid February, all the febs have been done on here! I keep being told they can’t give out information for COC until a decision has been made. Hopefully you hear something soon

I would call up and ask for a manger to call you, clearly an error has been made.

I didn't even think of that lol. When I get my letter I'll do that.

Harrysmummy2016 · 22/09/2025 14:31

I called Friday, nearly 27 weeks COC, and I was told I'm still in the holding queue, I challenged it and said that I'd seen people with scan dates after mine and they've had a decision, he said he didn't know why, he was so unhelpful, so I asked for a manager call back. He called me back and said its in the holding queue, so I said I was told there are different queues and I wanted to know which one I was in, he said there is only 1 queue, so I said so your staff are giving out false information, he said he was sorry and he would address it. He then said I can call and ask if it is with a DM and they can say whether it is or not, so I again said thats not what I've been told, I've been told that they can't tell you. He said they can definitely tell you if it is with a DM. I said how can you tell me that it is done in date order, but you cannot tell someone where in that queue they are, how does that make sense, he said they do not have access to that, I told them its terrible and how can they have no SLA, to just leave people with no updates and if they tried to give someone some genuine updates, maybe people wouldn't call up so much. I have no faith I'll hear anything soon and I'm really worried I will just get rejected, I didn't know about SMI until a few weeks ago, and although I wrote 7 pages worth of extra information, I'm worried that I haven't given enough and then seeing other people have had their rates reduced to MCR is making me stress, I wrote that nothing has changed with his care and for his sleep I wrote how bad it is, wakes up at midnight and is awake for the rest of the night. This is so much stress 😩

Just mobility, we already get high rate care but I'm concerned that because I put nothing has changed for care, they will reduce to medium after seeing it has happened to others

I know I’m shocked at their outcome, the care side of it shouldn’t have even been looked at. Hope she will get it sorted though.

I missed a call and got a text today saying- Before we can reconsider your DLA Child decision, we need to speak to you. We will call you on today . If you will not be available call us on 08001214600 today before 17:00. They rang while on school run just my luck missed the call I'm wondering what it's for I made a complaint about the use of another child's details on the stement of reasons and it should be looked at again ASAP I'm not entirely sure what they would need we extra I've given so much it's just for hrm my child already gets hrc but has recently had hip surgery and in a wheel chair so I'm wondering if they are clarifying information?.

Henrysmum07 · 22/09/2025 18:33

NC SD 23/07 phoned last week and it hadn’t been picked up by a DM yet. Just had a text this evening to say child qualifies! So so happy. Unsure of rates yet but will ring in the morning to see. Good luck to anyone waiting x

LucindaJane · 22/09/2025 18:36

I'm still waiting on a new claim SD 22/7. Every time I see a July post I get my hopes up 😂 In reality I've heard nothing and when I called last week it wasn't yet with a DM

Pumpknseeds · 22/09/2025 20:38

Hi I sent off for an MR on 30th June and only received confirmation on the 4th of sep (I forgot about it!) would I have to ring up to find out scan date. I’ve also received two letters last week one saying 11 weeks and one saying 15 weeks??
