my daughters renewal was done yesterday, she’s had HRC and LRM for 2 renewals so far but I’ve just recieved one weeks worth of payment in my account so I’m assuming they’ve ended her claim?! 😭 I rang and apparently according to a new policy they are no longer allowed to tell you decisions over the phone

They could of processed end of aesrd payment before the new decision was made id try not to panic just yet

It will probably take them a year to read through it all 😂 She was only diagnosed 11 months ago but there has been a lot of appointments to get things in place before she started school, I can’t say that worked though because they can only handle her for a hour and a half 🤦‍♀️ absolutely joke the school system!

Oh I had this with my son in year reception he only went for 1 hour at one point, then had to build it up from there until year 2!! He now has 1:1 everyday but no EHCP as our council is shocking and has refused to even come and assess him 🙄

Trying but this didn’t happen last time, just don’t understand why they wouldn’t pay me as normal if the award is the same so I am assuming they’ve stopped it. Can’t understand why though, nothings changed! Hate that they can’t tell you over the phone

If its not overturned at coc please do MR amd then tribunal if you have to (hoping you dont need to do that) they bank on the fact most people dont go to tribunal because they've no fight left in them

Definitely, i will fight it all the way, she definitely deserves a higher rate than what she is on now. By the time i get a decision for this COC if i need to do a MR I will be putting in a MR and a renewal together 🤦‍♀️ hopefully it doesn’t come to that but it does seem sometimes like they’ve not looked at all the evidence before making their decision.

Yep SD 4th of March. I got my DS amended updated EHCP through so rang yesterday to ask if I had time to send, and she said to send as it isn’t with anyone yet anyway! It was delivered to them today. I am loosing hope of it being anytime soon. It’s been delivered today (sent special delivery) so will ring end of next week to check its scanned on and hopefully get an update!

It must be soon surely! I think there must only be 1 Feb waiting now? And your the next scan date to be done on here. I called them up the day my evidence arrived to them and they took the tracking number incase it went to the dm before being scanned on, might be worth calling Monday just to make sure they include it if it does go to the dm?

That’s so bad, surely the fact he has a 1-1 suggests he has high needs and should have a ehcp 🤦‍♀️ the system for SEND kids is awful! My daughters school have put in for £50,000 funding on top of her ehcp to make it secure and to meet the expectations of her ehcp. I told them she would need a 1-1 before she started but they kept saying they don’t do 1-1 at schools, now she’s started she’s had a reduced timetable, they’ve called for a emergency ehcp review and a teacher doesn’t leave her side, if only they would listen to the parents in the first place.

I know it's been a total nightmare. Our council argued that coz he has 1:1 without ehcp they r coping with his needs, like seriously it's crazy. Same here we told them and so did nursery that he needs 1to1 but they didn't listen until he was trashing the school and headbutting everyone and everything

😂 I know that one, I told the school if they need to exclude her for being violent do it, it’s the only way she will get the right support. Schools are underfunded I do get that but the fact they don’t listen is so frustrating! I can’t believe they said because he gets a 1-1 that is the most lamest excuse, it shows he needs a lot more extra support at school. My daughter had a 1-1 at preschool and was still hard work so primary school thinking she can be there without a 1-1 I knew would never be possible. They are hoping to have full 1-1 put on her ehcp in the review 🤞

They 100% dont read all the evidence. And i know that for a fact because every single peice of evidence i sent stated night times needs and severe sleep issues and she only got middle rate not to mention all the mobility needs too. Its a bloody joke and it makes me so angry when I think of just how many families day in day out have to fight for their disabled children across the board

Your right all we do is fight for our children just to get them the help and support that should naturally be offered to them, I hate to think what it will be like as they get older going through life without the right support that’s why we need to keep fighting for them to get things in place now. There is no way they will read all my evidence but you would think the amount of time we wait for a decision they would look through it properly. They should have someone that makes a pre decision and highlights the most important bits before going to a dm for a final decision.

Im really hoping theyll send my daughters to the medical team as I know for a fact a random untrained (medical) DM will absolutely not know about my daughters disability. And im wondering if that's something I can request? Probably not though

Really to be awarded HRM they should be sent to the medical team before making the final decision because they will be the ones to properly know if a child qualifies for it based on the evidence. It may be worth calling and asking? I haven’t seen anyone request it before but they could atleast leave a note that you’ve asked.

100% agree! At the end of the day the DM is just any tom dick or Harry with zero medical knowledge how can they make such decisions?

I think ill give them a call on monday to check progress and see if I can request it go to the medical team

Typically only a few days but it could of been assigned to a DM and them be on annual leave ect and that's why taking longer

Hoori291 · 20/09/2025 19:05

I hope it's ok to ask on here? My DD received a DLA payment into her bank for my dgd but no letter or anything. Yesterday she got a letter stating that her claim had been received on 12/09 and that they would let her know when a decision has been made. She sent the claim in in June btw so they definitely got it before September. '

If anyone has any idea whats going on I'd be very grateful

I would imagine the letter she has recently received is a generic letter with the wrong scan date on. I would call up Monday to ask but it sounds like if she has had a payment into her bank then a decision has been made and her scan date was June / July time. A letter will follow with the decision but they usually take 10 working days to come. Congratulations on the award.

hi I did an MR on 13th march so about 27 weeks ago and received a text message today to say they’ve received my claim and it could take 25 weeks. Has this happened to anybody else x
