MR date 6/6 long wait ahead

Mum398 · 17/09/2025 18:52

Called again today for my MR dated 11/3 after my phone call yesterday and they’ve upheld the original decision and claim declined 🙁

I don’t think we will go to tribunal. Looking after my daughter and advocating her needs has been a fight enough. I think we are done now and will have to accept the hard parts and the crippling finances of what medical appointments are costing plus not being able to work full time due to her needs.

So sorry hun , I would take it to a tribunal if you feel she's entitled. Keep fighting. My sister took her sons to a tribunal and won x

So, I've just called up to get an update on a nc. They've said that im looking at next year on a decision and that there is no timescale. This was after she tried gaslighting me, when I said that July's claims are now being done. She said don't believe anything you read on the forums.

I asked her if she had read the post from other people stating that they have had nc approved. She said no I said so don't gaslight me. And don't make out that I don't have the capacity to understand if someone's lying about getting there July claim approved.

I don't mind the wait. But they cant be sending texts that its 25 weeks then approve claims within 11 weeks . Then state to others that there is now no timescale.

Anyway waiting for a manager to call me now as im going to raise this as a complaint

Surely they have to have some kind of service level to adhere to. I've ne her known any company that doesn't have to issue service timescales.

Did they call you back? I'm debating raising a complaint myself as I've been waiting since April for a new claim

Yes, the manager agreed with me. I would call them if I was you ask to speak with a manager. As he also said that they are done in date order unless they have a terminal illness then they get done first.

He also acknowledged that claims are going through much faster. I said to them that they introduced this no timescale policy 15th July so at the very least they shouldn't apply it retrospectively. He agreed with everything I said.

Interesting, I've called weekly since 15 weeks roughly (end of july) and always been told up to 25 weeks. I doubt the date order aspect only because 2 parents from my local support group, as well as my sister in law all have claims within the last 2 months that have had a decision!
I'll definitely be calling and asking to speak to someone higher up tomorrow, hopefully I won't be pushed off the phone like usual

LizzieLoulabell · 17/09/2025 21:48

COC SD 17/3 spoke to a lovely gent today couldn’t give me a date as to when but did say we where the later end of the wait and soon but soon could be weeks could be another month.

So.my sd for nc was 21st July called on monday was told it was in a holding que. Tuesday was sent a generic 2nd letter stating decision times are longer than usual and to expect a wait or another 15 weeks. Today recieved a message stating my child qualifies called up to see rates was told she couldn't see them. I mentioned I had a meeting with work coach later and she apologised and told me the rates ect. You just have to push them they know but very reluctant.good luck your time will be soon.

The payment will stay on the same date and day you normally receive payment, the award week is Wednesday to Tuesday that why it say from Wednesday. I’m surprised you haven’t been backdated to when you called for forms though 🤔 and the first part only getting care not mobility for the first 3 weeks? Why?

ProudZebra · 17/09/2025 22:43

LocoCoco13 · 17/09/2025 15:24

I just asked my sister who had tribunal and she said she heard nothing until the date was set and it took around 1 year

So I guess they told her a date quite a bit In advance? Did she attend in person coz I’ve heard the wait time is longer if you do?

That’s good to know, was wondering if it would change. They did backdate the payment, but only started the backpayment for mobility in may when he turned 3. I think thats why there is two different award dates. I’m terrible with all this stuff 🤣

Oh that makes sense, I thought it seems strange them not awarding it for the first 3 weeks. How long did they award him for? I’m still waiting 🙄 they just say they can’t tell me a timeframe for COC when I call.

Honestly I was a little disappointed, they didnt change the date the award ends, it’s 2027. Do you usually get the same person when you call by any chance?

No it’s been a different person each time, some are miserable and some are helpful but as soon as the see it’s a COC they say they can’t give out wait times or information anymore. You would think they would give a longer award length when a child is on the highest care and mobility rate. I’m due to receive a renewal form in December and she will also be 5 in December so I’m hoping they take this coc as applying for mobility and a update so we don’t have to do the renewal.
