Itw crazy ain't it not dla related but we was supposed to.have a.phone call ast Monday total ignore no reply on jurnal but I it was other way round they be on your back.

If I knew they couldn’t stop my UC I’d be a twat and play them at their own game, not respond to their messages! They seem to have an opinion that they’re more superior to us for some reason 😤

Hi long term lurker 👀
coc 08/2024 declined December 2024
MR Sd 21/01/2025 28weeks tomorrow.

I’ve really been trying to just forget about it and not phone but called today.
still in holding que, won’t give me a time frame it’s an awful feeling waiting round and think it will be rejected again 🙈🙈

Hope this week starts to move quicker

I didn’t realise you can do a MR after a COC decline, I’m waiting for a COC at the moment and if they don’t change it it now gives me hope I can do a MR. I can’t believe you only waited 4 months for a COC at the end of last year, it’s crazy how it’s gone up to 28 weeks since then. I hope you hear your MR decision soon the waiting and not knowing is horrible.

sent forms back slightly late in mid March.
new diagnosis/ piece of eveidence sent early June
still waiting

Oh here’s my post

phoned today - decision was made 1st aug but couldn’t tell me over phone

Peaches10 · 04/08/2025 18:09

SD 24/5
And MR end of march

Phone today to see if they had received my extra evidence after phoning last week the lady told me they hadn't had it and they needed my tracking number but unfortunately I lost. The lovely gentleman today told me they had received it he then asked if I wanted an update on my claims. I wasn't really expecting him to ask as they normally just want to get you off the phone. But he told me my claims aren't with anyone yet but he then told me I would be expecting to hear back around September time. I did explain there wasn't any rush due to having appointments for diagnosis at the beginning of September and I'd have more evidence to go towards the claim. But he did mention if I do get a decision I can send in more evidence up to 6 weeks after a decision and wouldn't have to wait for the long wait. Anytime after the 6 weeks it would be classed as an MR. I hate phoning up but had problems when sending in evidence in the past and them not receiving it so always make sure you send off anything tracked and keep the receipts.
It's possible more claims will be awarded once the kids go back to school due to needing to contact professionals who are off.

I saw someone post on Facebook today that they rang and were told MRs are now a 30 week wait, week 28 for us this week hopefully not much longer 😬

KCYA · 04/08/2025 19:30

For those on UC, can I ask how long it’s taken for your child’s details to be verified? I don’t remember verification taking this long last time round

Hi, my claim was also taking a really long time to get verified and get the back pay, I kept trying to send messages via journal but they were ignoring me, so I sent a complaint at https://makeacomplaint.dwp.gov.uk/ and I got my back pay 2 days later.

Make a complaint about JSA or UC - DWP

I'm not sure if he meant new claims as I phone to see if they had received the extra evidence for a new claim and he said they have. And after he gave me an update on my new claim I just questioned about my other sons who is going threw an MR and he said it would hopefully be done by end of September and I said that's okay as I'm hoping to get some extra evidence by the start of September and he said that's fine even if they make a decision you have 6 weeks to provide the extra evidence and you won't have to wait another long wait but again I'm not sure if he ment new claims or MR but I would advise if you have more evidence after an MR is made get it in before the 6 weeks and phone straight away to let them no and see if they have received it and question it then. Iv spoke with a few call handlers and some are useless and clearly can't be bothered to talk. But he didn't rush me off the phone and was extremely helpful.

Curlycookie5 · 04/08/2025 20:50

@KCYA I did this and mine was done in 2 days too

Peaches10 · 04/08/2025 20:55

Also yes with UC if your leaving messages in your journal and your not getting any response after I think it's a few days. I phoned up to question what was happening and was told to leave a note in my journal I explained iv already done that several time and not had a response. The person over the phone put a note and said they has to respond to me within 24 hours I believe. It took couple of weeks to get it all sorted but I have seen a few people waiting alot longer.

You only have 4 weeks after decision date to make an MR so this man has gave you incorrect information.

So UC have just informed me that they have agreed to backpay the disabled child element, any idea how long I’ll wait for it to go into my bank?

Hi I'm waiting and on week 6, my child has been verified and I received a letter on the journal, stating that they have accepted the reasons etc.

Have you had this letter also?,
it's been over a week and no mention of back payment of child disability element. I've left messages. Not sure what's going on. How long was you wait

It took a week to verify my kids then another 3weeks to say they would backdate any money but the letter just says within due course, none of my statements or anything have been updated so not sure how long for payment

So I’ve just received the same letter on my journal, that’s what I was curious of too, how long it takes from now. Maybe next payment date 🤷🏻‍♀️
