Congratulations!!!
Did you both call up to find out the progress of your claims or have you received notifications that a decision was made? My scan date was the 26th March but I haven't heard anything yet so I'm unsure whether to call. I've previously had two letters stating the 15 week wait.

This was our first time calling.

She has been awarded MRC and LRM until December 2029 which is when she turns 16!

Very happy with the award

Still waiting for decision?

StanleyParents · 07/07/2025 11:27

Just wondering with UC, Mum is the main carer for the children which includes my son who receives HRC and when I added my daughter to the claim it didn't give me an option to change her main carer to Dad, how do we do this?

Apparently I was still 4 threads behind didn’t realise we had moved on aha already have one child on hrc but my boy has the brain age of a 10 month old he’s 29months old but sent a lot of evidence stating he has no awareness to danger is violent and needs constant attention with my oldest she’s 5 in march and I had no evidence for her

So if mum is claiming carers elements for your son that would have been done on her uc log in, you would need to log into your uc and under your name change of circumstances it to caring for your other child then ask for it to be backdated to the beginning of award.

Should I select the "Caring for someone" option? As when I added the dla for her it only let me set her as the main carer for all 3

Ladybug2025 · 07/07/2025 13:04

Just called and was told a decision was made on the 4th July but that they can't tell me the outcome over the phone and to await a letter. Not sounding positive, anyone else had similar?

For carers elements you can only have one child each that you care for, I have a screen shot I will add to this

spoke with a lovely man who was pleasant and explained all dates and payments to me without me even asking.

NC SD 25/3/25

awarded HRC and LRM from 4/7/25

absolutely convinced myself we would be declined
For an idea, I sent:
sleep diaries
school supporting letter
community paeds report
melatonin prescription
autism waiting list
sensory processing service referral
early help referral
orthopaedics referral
supporting letter from myself
work letters showing application for flexible working to support DC

keep holding on everyone, keeping fingers crossed you all get what your children deserve

Still no news. I can't get through today as the call just goes blank but it has been updated and no longer says 25 weeks. Now says if you are calling about coc or mr we will write to you with a decision and you do not need to call us.

Oh great, so basically saying there’s no timescale now 😤

Ladybug2025 · 07/07/2025 14:46

Some good news!
My son has been awarded MRC and LRM. My scan date was the 26th March, with a decision made on the 4th July.
I'm so incredibly relieved, we never applied until now as my son was finally diagnosed after 6 years of referrals, waiting lists and assessments and I never realised you didn't necessarily need a diagnosis before applying (my son has required a great deal of additional care from a young age, with health visitors noticing 'traits' and multiple delays from six months of age).

Evidence wise, I included:
-autism diagnosis report by his pediatrician
-educational psychologist report
-letter from the deputy head at school
-speech and language assessment/report and referral for therapy
-letters detailing my son's struggles at school as far back as nursery (he's now 11).
-mention of therapy for anxiety
-multiple pages written by myself about his care needs
-blue badge award letter

I'm hoping to now apply for carers allowance (we've been living solely on my husband's wage as my son always needed high levels of care, the times I've worked have been for two or three hours at my son's school to enable myself to be there for him).

With regards to the carers application, where can I find my son's DLA ref number? Is it the same reference number that has been on all the letters related to the claim? I haven't received the award letter yet. Also, do I date it as the same date that I requested forms for DLA (17th Feb)? DLA is being back paid to that date so I'm assuming that's when the award started?

MrsBoo8888 · 07/07/2025 14:47

26/3 awarded MRC!! Payment should go in tomorrow. I just filled out the form and sent in his one plan from the nursery. Ive Done all the uc stuff this morning but we all know how long that takes.

19/3 claim was a decline so we're off for a MR for him. ❤️
