Perhaps the DM works part time? guessing all DM’s work differently so don’t give up hope xx

Hoping so it just feels like a long wait compared to others

Decisions are being made quite fast on NC some people have been awarded within 12/13 weeks looks like they have caught up with backlog!
shocking MRs and COCs are waiting 25-30 weeks

i hope so, I am 12 weeks plus, God willing, we are all next. Always trust In God.

Spent last night absolutely devastated DS has been awarded middle rate care and low rate mobility. It should absolutely be high rate care and I'm waiting for letter to say why now. I bet it's because we only have a small amount of evidence of his night terror disorder (GP and consultant letter plus sleep diary). I have been begging the GP for years for a sleep study but they say they don't do them in this area for children. The system is just so unfair. We were going to use this backpay for a car as its an abosulute necessity, we have been stuck in our village for a year as DS won't go on public transport and tries to run from taxis, and now we wont be able to do that. We've also missed out on the higher disabled child element of UC. I'm close to losing my job as DS has been suspended from school so much as we have been waiting over a year for EHCP to get him into a special school. I hate this system so much! Now going to have to wait 6 months for MR and probably a further 18 months for tribunal!

Does it say anything about night times needs in the Ehcp that's good enough evidence?

MrsB113 · 25/06/2025 11:29

MR 25+1 still in a holding queue and been advised that the wait is upto 30 weeks so they have until July 19th. Which is perfect as school is then closed until September.

Its such a shocking system. I'm ready to give up, we've been fighting for help for 7 years, delayed by covid and backlogs all the way through. DC was originally awarded in 2022 but miraculously cured at renewal.

That's what worries me, what do they do over the holidays when they can't contact the schools? Does everyone's claims just go on hold until September 🤔 I wonder if that's why they get such a big backlog every year

We have a draft EHCP atm as have been waiting over a year since we applied but have both EP report and OT report which were sent. EP report states he needs 1:1 supervision at all times for his autism. Both mention he has daily night terrors whic affects his energy / mood / irritability etc

oh SWEET GOD IN THE HEAVEN

I completely forgot about school holidays and half terms, blimey. Yes, they need to rush through the ones that need to have the schools contacted. most schools are finishing in the next few weeks mid july ish.

Luckily, my dc is not in school. The one thing I am worried about is her consultant whom gave the diagnosis. Its easier to get hold of King Charles, not even joking. Hes that busy.I never get phoned back for months now and the only time I see him is every 2 months at a review appointment in the childrens hospital.

. Maybe they didn't look at all evidence in ehcp which does happen In your Mr l would mention it's detailed in your ehcp such draining process, x

Yeah I wonder if they fall behind every summer holidays then spend the rest of the year trying to catch up. I know the wait got up to 20+ weeks last year so they've done well to get it to 15-17 weeks 🤔 they need to hurry with the March dates we've only got afew weeks left then
