So would I be entitled to back pay? As that’s like £3000 nearly 😥 it’s a lot to miss out on

No unfortunately not, you could dispute it but not sure how it would go

No middle rate care is for if they need constant care or supervision throughout the whole day OR if they need care and supervision for a prolonged period at night. High rate care is if they need constant care and supervision throughout the whole day AND a prolonged period at night. Nothing in this list state night needs/supervision or sleep disorders

Youd have to prove that woth your evidence then. Is he on melatonin? Have you spoke to his paediatrician about it as theyd then put it in there post appointment summary that you can use as evidence, and if not do a week long sleep diary of all his wake up times and what care you've to provide him when hes awake

Hi can you plz give an example how to do a sleep diary.i never did

megan345 · 22/06/2025 10:04

i just wrote rhe times he woke up, fell asleep and what care i was providing during the times awake- roughly every 15 minutes i had for timings❤️

my son has just turned 3 and just been awarded HRC & HRM- i didn’t have much evidence of nighttime needs as no melatonin but had a small line in my paeds report showing me a website for trying to get him to sleep, sleep diary and a small line from our OT about how sleep is usually a problem for him and affects his therapies x

5 weeks in and already stressing about the wait 😂. My DD has just been prescribed something for sleep (not melatonin)and been referred to CAMHS by GP she's 5 but all I have are notes from the appointment and prescription list. Shall I send these in to support my claim?

Nope. I'm 27/02 new claim! Still waiting. Was told Wednesday that it's with a decision maker. Not sure how true that is. Away on holiday at the moment and half expecting to find a decline letter when we get home :( xx

I dont think that would be sufficient unfortunately

My 2 sons have very poor sleep, for which I get hrc, i wasnt required to send any evidence for this only stated that they have phenergan which often doesn’t work. Also poor school attendance due to not sleeping and when in school sometimes fall asleep. So I’d say what she has is sufficient enough.
