Things can change so quickly my SD was 27/02. I rang up 06/06 and was told it wasn’t with a DM and that it was waiting in a queue, I rang again 12/06 to be told it was with a DM but wasn’t sure if I should believe what I was being told, however a DM rang me yesterday morning to confirm a few details and said a decision should be made by the end of the day. I rang back yesterday just before closing to be told my son had been awarded HRC. Give them a ring on Monday you might already have a decision. I wouldn’t have known if I didn’t ring as they didn’t send a text. Good luck and hope your little one gets the award they deserve x

Hi. I only sent in his SALT report, and detailed diagnosis letter from his paediatric consultant, detailing his three diagnoses for ASD, GDD and his other learning disabilities. I then just added as much detail on to the form as I could detailing how his every day needs affect him. I didn’t think I had sent enough evidence to be honest so was shocked when he was awarded HRC. X

Thank you! I really appreciate the message. I was so negative aswell kept telling myself they will decline it I was honestly so shocked to get such a positive outcome and I’m so grateful. I’m going to stay on this page for a bit so I can watch everyone get awarded I have my fingers crossed for all of you our babies deserve it!🤍 please keep positive and don’t think of the worse your baby will get their award even if it’s a fight it will be worth it in the end x

Yes me, NC scan date 27/2 called Tuesday to be told hasn't been looked at yet. I keep thinking im gonna get the decline letter any day now. I can't wait to find out one way or another! Hope you hear soon xx

Hopefully you hear something after the weekend 🤞 I only sent in his SALT report and detailed diagnosis letter from his consultant listing his disabilities and how she think they will affect him in later life. I then included a couple of paragraphs on the form from myself stating how his daily living needs affect him and some of the care needs I carry out for him day to day. I didn’t have any other evidence to send and was worrying that I didn’t have enough to even get him an award let alone him being awarded HRC.
my two year old has just been referred for a diagnosis of the same conditions so I’ll be going through the draining process of filling forms out and anxiously waiting on a DLA result for him soon 😔
give them a ring Monday morning and chase your claim up. I didn’t contact them at all until 14weeks and then 15 weeks. And was awarded at 15 weeks and 1 day xx

i’m getting so worried now about it, think i’ve been without the form for too long🙃 x

he was declined
six months total wait just for bad news unfortunately but I was kind of expecting it when late Feb and March dates started coming in and I still hadn’t heard

I’m not sure. I sent a tonne of evidence- SENDO report of his needs in school, EP report, ASD report, his EHCP, cognition and working memory test scores, proof he’s on ADHD pathway. So I’m thinking maybe his needs just aren’t severe enough and he doesn’t qualify I’m not sure what else I could say for a different outcome xx

I’ve seen people get dla with out evidence please do a MR fight for what your child needs xx

I think I am going to highlight every point in the evidence that counterpoints their reason for declining him and take it all to the citizens advice and see what they suggest.

they said he has friends and plays football but lots of the evidence states his vulnerability socially and that he struggles with friendships, he does have friends but it is hugely encouraged by adults and to suggest disabled people can’t have friends is ridiculous. Also sports helps regulate him and burn off energy when he’s struggling to process his emotions. And I spent a lot of time devoted to helping him participate in sports because it’s so beneficial for him,

they also said he doesn’t have behavioural issues in school but there’s three pages of a report off the SENDCO explaining how he masks and presents as a child in distress. The effort of masking leads to EBSA and his attendance is 70%

i have had to change my entire life to make sure he’s okay and emotionally looked after. He needs routine and stability and ALOT more help than my daughter ever needed so it was a slap in the face to be told his needs aren’t that above a child of his age.

That definitely should not of been a decline at all !! I sent in senco report from school his speech and language from when he was 3 and 11 page statement from myself but I put mine into sections like hygiene communication
eating & drinking, motorbility etc
indunno what to say kus ur evidence is a lot !

I honestly thought he would get it as I know lots of children with ASD who do get it with similar needs to my son. It’s only when i had no decision and started seeing the Feb dates roll in that I started to realise it would probably be a decline. It’s so hard to muster the energy for an MR after going through the long wait.

Deffo take it further ur son should of got his award absolutely disgusting whoever the DM was

I would definitely do MR l was declined on my first claim they said not enough evidence you have lots of evidence, it will go to different DM for MR l was successful with mine, do 7 day dairy as well makesure show them everything do for your child thats what l done hope this helps, l know long wait but it will be worth it sometimes they have decline so many claims that what l been told. x

I’m 26/02 and not heard yet. I phoned on Friday and they said it’s with a decision maker.
