Did you post them with the freepost address? If you did it takes a lot longer for them to receive them and to scan them on so I would call them and say you posted them on such date will it still be backdated to when you called for forms. I posted my daughters COC form on 7/4 and I still haven’t received a letter yet but I sent signed for next day delivery so they was scanned on 8/4. They will send you a letter saying they’ve received your claim on such date and this is your scan date. Usually takes 8ish weeks.

My scan date took 2 weeks. They say different things. Some say 2 weeks, some say 6-8 weeks. But for a lot of people it's usually 2 weeks.

i never got a letter for my coc or a text or anything, i rang at 12 weeks to confirm scan date (i sent mine special delivery so knew when it arrived), then rang at 16 weeks for an update was told to ring at 20 weeks and it’s been assigned to a dm x

Oh really, I would be nice of them to let us know it’s been received. But that’s Dla for you 😂 was your scan date the day they received it? I’ve been basing mine off the fact they received it on 8/4

well this is where it gets interesting🤣 the first two times i called they said 29/11 to me which is perfect, i sent it on 28/11 and it arrived 29/11 but this recent time i called they said 03/12?! i think they just say anything to get you off the phone, i made sure the first two times to not mention a date so i knew it was coming from their end, i’m still taking it as 29/11 x

I wonder if that’s a new thing, my sons renewal scan date letter came really quick recently but when I did my NC over the last couple of years they’ve taken around 8 weeks for the letter to come

I would take it as 29/11 aswell, they tried telling me a different scan date once then the next time I called it was back to the original scan date, I don’t think they look properly sometimes 🙄

just received a text message saying “a decision has been made on your child’s disability living allowance” does this mean we’ve been declined? I’ve seen others get a text message saying something like “we’ve decided your child is entitled to DLA”

my stomach is turning!

LoudAquaViper · 22/04/2025 09:20

Unfortunately it’s not good news, my son has been declined. I’m gobsmacked why and how he got declined so another long 20/25 weeks ahead fighting for what he deserves

And you should see some money pending in your account unless you're with barclays, you don't get that. But let's see. Give them a ring .

Oh no! Sorry, mum.what happened?

Judgejudysno1fan · 22/04/2025 09:28

Inwull be absolutely devastated if my dc is declined. Poor little one has a lifelong medical condition / disease forever. I'd definitely ask them to reconsider @loudaquaviper

Apparently not enough evidence and that there isn’t high enough care for what a child his age needs. Even though we have a health visitor report scoring him under his age for every single section. Also sent portage, SALT and autism assessment referrals.

im so frustrated and angry. Someone picked up his claim this morning before they opened their phone lines and made a decision. So seems they didn’t even look at his claim properly!

@Scaffwife oh I see as I was trying to figure out your back pay aswell

my son turned 5 in November

what sort of things did you send in. I’m nervous as I didn’t send all the stuff that I sent when he 1st got awarded. I thought they looked at old claim aswell

Foreverlearning88 · 22/04/2025 09:32

What the hell? I'm gutted for you!! I bet your livid! I'm sure they make up the rules as they go along. As you say, probably don't even read half the information. Some seem to award with very little evidence, some want blood before they will award! Chin up! Xx

How old is he? Xx

How old is he? Xx

He’s 3 in June. Wakes up 2-3 times a night and will be awake for 1-2 hours a time. Started doing a sleep diary for him a few weeks ago so that will be going in the next lot of evidence too.
