so was on just medium rate care , now awarded high rate care , low rate mobility…which I’m thrilled about ….have put in mandatory reconsideration though as I do believe high rate mobility…but I’m still happy we finally have this award!!!! Only another 25 weeks to wait for MR

so mine took 26 weeks
xx

Congratulations, did you put in evidence of smi or vuw with your MR?

Oh no! Did they say if it was even with a DM?

Still in the queue unfortunately.

Will call again (if I can wait) next Friday now

Hello, my dc has a lifelong condition. I sent through all forms and evidence last month so still have a long wait. However lately, she's been really poorly and they gave her another prescription for at least a month, do I need to call DLA and update them with this?

Everything you receive that you think will be good evidence I would send in

thank you ❤️

I sent in his:
EHCP
diagnosis letter
SALT Report
Disabilty buggy referral
Senco reports from school
Teacher report
Blue badge for him
disabled bay granted letter
long long statement & walking diary from me

& still a no for HRM 🤨

my son is 5 next month and have only awarded for one year , I have challenged this in the MR also but am unsure if this is standard because if his age?

Scaffwife · 17/04/2025 13:26

Oh and I added the criteria for his special needs academy also as that’s quite high and had to be placed at panel x

Huda87 · 17/04/2025 15:07

Hi everyone!
Im also scan date 11/12/2024!!
Im so nervous. I rang to check if I had time to post evidence last Friday and was told my son’s claim was still in the waiting list. I posted on Monday and phoned yesterday to check if it has been received and scanned. They had received and was told it’s now allocated. I guess it could still be quite a wait from now. Hoping yo hear soon. I applied for mobility too as my son is 3 but I don’t think there’s any chance of getting it. I believe there’s enough information in all my supporting evidence de but I’ve only ever seen people get it age 3 after a MR or tribunal! Good luck everyone!!!

NC SD 12/12 - got a text yesterday to say he was awarded and I've just called up for rates. He is receiving HRC!

2.5yo, suspected ASD - sent a lot of evidence

congratulations! Very please for you and your boy!! I’m NC SD 11/12 so hoping to hear back very soon. My boy is non verbal autistic lots of sensory processing difficulties and pica. He has no danger awareness either. He’s in a SEN nursery and was allocated the place by the council. Denton lots of evidence so really hoping for HRC
So happy for you

@LoudAquaViperah ok, maybe if I chase in a few weeks I will request a text message.

Someone up thread/on the previous thread quoted another term to use, not ‘with a DM’ but similar. But I can’t remember what it was, or find the post. I think she got asked if it was an audit call as it’s not well known but accurate.

Im not feeling positive about the outcome, but now we’re at the original deadline I just want to know. Good luck.

I saw this too! It was something like does it have an owner! 🤣🤣🙈 in NC SD 11/12 so hopefully not too long now!

Is that because you can only get mobility from age 5, please? Many thanks

Hi! I believe you can apply for mobility from age 3 but only High rate mobility. Then from age 4 you can apply for high rate or low rate depending on your child’s needs. Good luck with your application!

Got a text today to say my daughter qualifies for DLA i called to find out what she'd been awarded he told me exactly what we were getting what we'd be back paid and how long she was eligible for which was January 2027!

Think I’ve been pretty patient waiting these last 18 weeks, but after being told last Friday son’s claim is now with a DM and I should hear within 2 weeks, ALL patience has completely gone out of the window 🤣

Rang this afternoon at 3.30pm and still no decision. It feels like a loooooong time until Tuesday! 😬
Anyone know if DMs will be working over the Easter weekend? Wondering if I might still get a text over the BH…
Argh, this last bit of waiting is painful! 🫤😅

I would highly doubt they will be working unfortunately...been told I will hear back for the renewal by the 2nd May and this wait is killing me haha

I have heard of people getting texts on a Sunday so was hopeful there could be news this weekend, but I think even the DMs will be stuffing themselves with chocolate like the rest of us, so wishful thinking on my part 🤣
Hope you get the result you want long before the 2nd, the wait is so stressful 😵‍💫

brc13 · 17/04/2025 19:30

My LO was awarded LRC in March (new claim) but I believe he should have been awarded higher so I had 56 days to send in late evidence and reasons why I didn’t agree with their decision. I sent more evidence and his melatonin prescription over, I got a letter saying they will have a decision by 22nd of May. If he is awarded higher do they backdate it from 12/09 which was when his claim was backdated too? Also how does it work with universal, I get the low child disability element now so will they backdate it to September if he gets higher or do they just start it from when the new decision is made?

Congratulations hun!! So happy for your daughter and you!
we are NC SD 11/12 and still nothing - yesterday I was told we were allocated. I rang today as I realised I hadn't included my boys referral to the wheelchair service for a specialist buggy as his referral was accepted. I was panicking thinking there’d be no time and the person I spoke to said there’s still a wait for us as he’s not allocated to a named case worker yet! She took a note of it and wrote it on the notes on his file and asked if there was anything else I needed to include. I’ve had to send additional info a few times now and it costs me about £9 each time for special delivery! I’m at appendix Q now for additional evidence! Just hope the case worker reads it all.
Good luck everyone and I’m so happy for you and your daughter!

Hope they sort it for you ASAP!! I had to send so much evidence my daughter has dysphagia, joint hypermobility syndrome severely and developmental delay luckily she's got loads of letters from her specialists!
I dont understand the order they do it in doesn't make any kind of sense esoepcially if you've already sent so much evidence in! It's so costly too as you say! Really hope you hear soon

The wait is so hard!! I’m NC SD 11/12 I was told yesterday it had been allocated and rang today in a panic to add a piece of evidence I’d forgotten. Person today said there’s still was a few weeks to wait yet and that he’s not allocated to a named case worker yet! I was so confused I assumed allocated would mean allocated to a specific person! Good luck and I hope your get a positive outcome soon! Hopefully Tuesday!! 😬
