DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 66

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 10/03/2025 14:50

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

New Claim
Scan date 24/1/25

Chedder123 · 20/03/2025 20:53

I caved in and called about my MR 2/10 and used the excuse I’m just calling to see if my cover letter with new diagnosis information has been scanned. Anyway they said no but they transferred me to a decision Maker who added a note to say to call me before any decision is made! Not read that many get anyone else to talk to so my fingers are crossed. We first applied in April 2024 so been waiting a year and now we are days away. Stress is real

Ammybammy · 20/03/2025 21:17

We had a letter yesterday for our change of circumstances to say that we'd have a decision within 11 weeks! When I called last week to check it had been received the guy I spoke to told me 25. I'll be overjoyed if it's 11 weeks!

Catchmeifyoucam · 21/03/2025 00:02

When I rang the other day she told me it’s 25 weeks wait AFTER your form is scanned in 😭 I sent mine back middle of Jan but when I rang they STILL havent scanned in so I’m in for such a wait!

Your scan day should be the date they receive your form

Ohh really? She said it hadn’t been registered yet was still in a pile so I thought that was my scan date lol

Mynewnameis · 21/03/2025 07:28

Nc sd 13.11.25

Woke up to £1200 in bank

I think that might be middle rate care only.

Arantzap · 21/03/2025 07:38

NC SD 6/03
COC SD 7/03

i hope the wait isn’t too long 😩

4th Oct MR here. Feeling the same stress! Also called yesterday too and no decision. 24 weeks today for us. I just know it's going to be a decline and I'll be absolutely devastated. Best of luck to you hopefully you'll hear something today or Monday!!! 🌟

I have made 3 claims in the past and currently waiting a renewal and they have all been the date they receive the forms, it’s definitely worth sending anything signed for because the scan date is usually the day after you’ve sent it, free post your scan date would be around a week after you’ve sent the forms sometimes longer. They write on the envelope the date it’s received so when it does get scanned on it will be the date they received it.

Jemmalou2018 · 21/03/2025 10:44

Hi all November scan dates are being done quite quickly. SD 15/11 rang Wednesday told me no update, still in a que. Rang today as I've seen lots of middle Nov dates being done, the man on the phone said a decision was made yesterday who then put me through to a lady who told me awarded lower rate mobility, middle rate care. Awarded for 5 years, renews in 2030 gang in there guys. They seem to be making most decisions on the 19 week mark. Hope this helps anyone with near enough scan date as me x

I did upload the form on the 16/10 but never realised I hadn’t filled filled in part 2 until I received a text reminder 🙈
called today and told they couldn’t tell me anything, no news on if it’s in a queue or with a decision maker . The lady said there was nothing she could tell me .

well I rang this morning and they said my number is wrong I said that is strange as when I rang last it was correct and during first claim they rang me fine he said don’t ring back til after 25 weeks now
but now I want to ring and see if anyone tried to ring me that is why it’s been flagged up
it’s so stressful the wait

They would have flagged wrong number before when you've rang though surely I'd ring them to check it's right again cos I think half. Of them can't be arsed z
