Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Does anyone know difference between case manager and decision maker? Also the time frame between the 2?

They told me that a case manager is the same thing as a decision maker they both make decisions z

NC 15.10.24 - 22 weeks 2 days

I am starting to wonder if mine is in a COC pile. Rang on 7th March and it was with a DM they said. I don't want to ring again as I don't want to be told it is a decline over the phone. I'd rather read it 😫

Whatalongwait · 20/03/2025 11:59

Maybe yours is with the same decision maker as mine @TheZippyMintHedgehog. N/c sd 29/10 and apparently they have had it since 6th March. I rang yesterday so am going to leave it till next Thursday to call again.

Chedder123 · 20/03/2025 12:01

My MR scan date is 2nd October. I’m waiting very impatiently and always finding an excuse to call but yeah I don’t get much. I do wonder if people have scan dates for every single day of the year haha!!

MR 02/12, 15 weeks on Monday. We were awarded HRC and LRM but currently fighting for the HRM due to her having to be restrained a lot, no danger awareness, throws things into the road etc.. hopefully we don’t have to go to tribunal. Hoping everyone gets there decisions soon! x

That's why I'm not ringing about my MR! I think I'll either get back pay next week or the decline letter. Most likely the latter!

Hello all, I've been declined. Nc, Sd 22/11/24.
My son is diagnosed with autism, and is on a sleep programme to help at night times. He cam sleep or get to sleep. He has terrible behaviour problems, bad OCD, and is waiting for adhd testing, requested by the psicon team.
But this morning I got a letter saying no. They are cracking down on people getting help now. I'm too drained to get an MR. I hope you all get better luck.

I know it's stressful but I'd still put the mr in chances are you could get a better decision maker x

So sorry to hear this, if you can I would still put in for MR, as I've seen a lot of people on here have done a Mr and have had good outcomes coming out with high care up until their child is an adult. It's so sad we have to fight like this for our children x

Justanotherlove · 20/03/2025 13:16

@Seafish1985 please do an MR xx

Seafish1985 · 20/03/2025 13:23

Thank you everyone. I'm beyond worn out. It's not just the struggles with this we have, it's all the extra stuff that weigh us down too. The Dr's, hospitals, people that provide support and guidance, and I know it's all there to help, but it's all the time. So you just get consumed.
I have another webinar meeting Tuesday on his sleep programme, and I have to keep diaries and send them to the sleep clinic. My brain is fried. A MR would be another year of stress, I feel. I want my son to have the help he needs, but right now I'm struggling. I will look at it again tonight.

I'll see if I can add a picture of why it failed.

Thank you all xx

I do completely understand you are worn out it’s all draining with out this added pressure but
I would ring them and put an official complaint as autism is a disability so for them to even write what has been wrote is absolutely disgusting and DLA is based on needs not disability anyways

So sorry!

Your child is diagnosed with a disability and from what you have said they have substantially more needs than an average child. The whole process is so frustrating, it goes off care needs but I haven’t met another parent with an autistic child whose needs aren’t far more than the average child so surely a diagnosis SHOULD have weight to back up that they should get DLA.

Give yourself a breather and then go back to the MR and complete it, it is a long, frustrating process but don’t let them make you think your child isn’t entitled to it.

Sarahlou15 · 20/03/2025 13:45

Things like that really boils my piss.
I have seen people write they don’t get XYZ because there child can play football or because they have friends
it’s so discriminating as regardless of what peoples disability is
nothing is impossible
there is people out there with no disability that do not have friends so does that mean they can claim benefits just because they have no friends or hobbies
like I said boils my piss

When I first called it made me feel better that it hadn’t been declined yet but this extra 2 weeks wait I am just so fed up of waiting for a decision. I was going to ring tomorrow but have something on at work so no time to call and when I finish they are closed 😫

I wrote an MR ages ago as well and still not received a decision for the NC 😂. I’d much prefer to know I definitely will get a text award or decline so it isn’t limbo 😫 🤞🏻 your MR is successful!
