DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 66

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Selblockh · 19/03/2025 10:39

sd coc 31/10 I have just rang and got straight through
she said it should take 20wks and if not heard then call back hmmmm I said it’s 20wks tomorrow
she said call back if not heard

i very much doubt that is right as I’m sure they are taking 25wks

Catchmeifyoucam · 19/03/2025 10:43

My forms were received back in January but not registered yet apparently and I haven’t received a letter with my child’s reference number. The lady on the phone said it takes 25 weeks after being registered to even get to a decision maker 😭 does anyone know if the form being registered is the same as being “scanned”?

NC SD 21/10
I got a back payment of £746.20 last night in the bank. Worked it out at LRC. I’m happy it’s not a decline but I’m 100% doing a MR. 6 months wait and feels likes the biggest kick in the teeth😭 Over the last week I have received a lot more evidence of my LO struggles, does anyone know if I send that in asap (im from

scotland so I can send it online) they will look over it quicker as some sort of late evidence, feel so deflated and my anxiety is going to be through the roof waiting another 6 months for them to look over it again. My LO also has his follow up appointment on 7th April for his diagnosis so I’ll be updating them on everything that has changed since his first assessment in June. Felt so sick to my stomach this morning and could barely sleep last night, the worst feeling when your child doesn’t get what they deserve and don’t even know how they’ve came to the conclusion of LRC , so honestly feel for all of you that have been decline or having to do MR😩

Yes I think if you send off all your additional evidence now it will be looked over again by the same decision maker rather than having to go through the whole process again! I think you only have about a month to do this though or else it will be looked at by someone else. Best of luck to you x

Me too. The wait is horrible, isn’t it! I just want to know whether it’s a decline or not.

Kidsanchaos · 19/03/2025 11:47

Congratulations on all those awarded so far this week, so happy for you all 🎊

I'm really stressed about my childs claim, sd 1/11. I know it's with DM from at least last Thurs when I rang and was told they'd sent out for additional information but couldn't tell me who from.

The wait is really starting to get to me and I'm becoming convinced it will be a decline. I just want to know either way. So many dates similar or after being awarded with is great but I just wish mine was done now. I can't imagine how they could decline my child based on the evidence Ive sent but I've also seen so many declined for the most unfair of reasons and think the same will happen with mine. Keep telling myself not to worry but I cant help it.

Wanting to ring for an update but I'll just be stuck on hold for an hour to be told no decision yet so I'm trying not to call 🤦‍♀️

I'm literally on hold how! Don't even know why I'm doing it. It's just totally unacceptable. You're told 11 weeks, and only if you ring do you find out it's actually 25 and now they're saying could be more to you? Totally unfair.

PSO123 · 19/03/2025 12:42

Still no decision! 😨

Mom24boys111 · 19/03/2025 13:15

It's a joke tbf it's 6 months of stress and could all be for it 2 be a no then tribunal then it'll be about 2 years in total they need 2 sort the system out

Upto 25 weeks. You may or may not recieve a letter shortly advising they're looking at the claim. That may say 11 or 15 week wait but it's not true unfortunately. Other than that, no updates from them. Good luck! 👍

NC
Mine were received by them on 22nd January and I have a ref number as well ( I know this as they sent a letter asking for additional information, my bad) but when I called, the lady on the phone stressed 22nd January is ‘the date they received the forms’ and when I asked a few times if this is my scan date, did NOT confirm it. I am so confused as I did not receive a letter telling they got the forms and xxx is my scan date.. Either they are moving away from SD jargon or my forms are not scanned even though there is a ref no.

The answer you get from a kind mum here would answer my question too hopefully.

good luck to you xx

Mummyof5kiddos · 19/03/2025 15:18

Can anyone give me some advice on COC, I’ve just called to request forms for a COC as my child’s needs are a lot higher, she now has a Ehcp, diagnosed asd with a pda profile, 1-1, IEP and waiting for what seems a million applications. I am trying to make sure I have everything I need ready for the COC, is the form the same as the form when we first applied? And do I need to send in all the evidence even the things I sent in when I first applied? Or just the changes?

Glitzxx · 19/03/2025 15:26

Do i need to fill out the whole form again for the mobility part i already get mrc for my son will my claim have to be renewed from the start like will they cancel the whole claim
