Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Hi does anyone please know if a call handler is likely to be able to tell me if something I sent tjem
last week arrived? I sent some extra evidence first class signed for on Wednesday but online it’s saying it’s still not delivered. I’m hoping it has actually arrived and postie just didn’t get a signature or something but I’m starting to worry it didn’t get there. Thanks x

PositivityRipples · 18/03/2025 12:30

@MistandFog2024 Yes they can check your claim and view the evidence you've sent and if new evidence has been scanned on.. Give them a call 📞💫

MistandFog2024 · 18/03/2025 12:43

@PositivityRipples thank you 😊 I’ll give them a call x

Evecob · 18/03/2025 13:27

I called today NC SD 14/11 and still nothing yet.

Chedder123 · 18/03/2025 13:30

Can anyone tell me with a MR if awarded does the back pay go from the original scan date of the claim or the MR date?

For example my first scan date was 25th May 2024

Declined 20th September

MR date 2nd October 2024

MaddyM8 · 18/03/2025 13:32

I caved haha called and got through quite quickly. Just told decision not yet been made and if there is a decision I'll be notified haha at least I know I suppose

Tonichatt2288 · 18/03/2025 13:35

So I've just rang and my scan date was 7-11th not the 20th and they said twice it's with a devision maker and I've just been told it's not honestly its like talking to a brick wall 😤

Same SD 12/11 was awarded yesterday as well! Called last week and nothing so glad I called again.

PositivityRipples · 18/03/2025 13:58

@Chedder123 If you are awarded a MR your backpay and claim date is your original date 25th May 24... But if you called for the original new claim forms before 25th May 24 it will go from the date you actually called for the forms before your original scan date on 25th May 24 if that makes sense 💫

It’s from the date you requested the forms if you sent them back in time or from scan date if you didn’t

PositivityRipples · 18/03/2025 12:21

@Mumof31171 congratulations on your award.. Are you in England? If so what area please 💫

Thank you,
I am in England, Wandsworth to be exact.
I called a few times to check extra evidence had been seen and was told 25 weeks.

Mumof31171 · 18/03/2025 14:38

I called up today to check award and length
hrc lrm till 2026
they made a decision last Thursday and sent out the letter.
I asked why my claim was death with so quickly and he couldn’t give me an answer.
if I had to guess why I would say perhaps it was my cover letter.
I am struggling an awful lot so I didn’t hold back on explaining just how much home life is affected for me.
