DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 66

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 10/03/2025 14:50

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

I’ve also had backpay into my account this morning, I am so shocked, I really was preparing for the worst and having to fight a MR.

NC SD 29/10 so 20 weeks today.

We’ve received £2,037 so MRC and LRM, exactly what I thought he should be entitled to. The relief that this is over for a few years is indescribable.

Congratulations to others awarded today, this thread has kept me sane the last few weeks!

Congratulations i know you have been waiting a while. Did you send much evidence? Im 22/11 so still currently waiting.

Thank you! I sent his ND referral forms from 18 months ago (still on the waiting list for assessment!), school IDP (in Wales so EHCPs aren’t a thing here) and other docs from school, plus his old Play Plan from nursery and supporting letters from the school and his holiday club. Other than that I just sent a letter from myself answering lots of the questions in great detail with examples. We don’t have a diagnosis yet or any medical evidence so hopefully this is reassuring for those in the same boat!

My son's claim is due to end on the 20/04. I've sent in some extra evidence last week of my son's diagnosis as he has just been diagnosed with autism on the 4th of this month and a letter from the senco at school of extra support he receives in school. They told me they could wait until the day before on making a decision🫣 I really hope they make a decision at least a couple weeks before his claim is due to end. I feel like the closer it's getting the more anxious I'm feeling x

Thank you for the reply 😊 that’s exactly
how I’m feeling. My last payment is due 15/04 so im going to call after that. At first it was nice having an end date but the closer it gets the worse it gets! I’ll keep a look out for you 🤞🏻

My MR was accepted last week just received the MR notice how do I claim Uc child Disability element? And will it be backdated from my award date or from date I let UC know? I can’t claim careers allowance as I work to many hours.

Was your MR a turn over or you just put in now for MR

emalea · 18/03/2025 09:03

NC SD 21/11. Called this morning, have extra evidence to send and wanted to make sure that using the freepost address wouldn't miss any decision. Wishful thinking. No update, still in holding queue. Agent reiterated that new claims are a 25 week wait.

I think it's backdated to the same date your award has been backdated to! And I think you can get carers element of UC as well, it's different to carers allowance and I don't think it goes on ours/income but not 100%!

I called last week it wasnt even with anyone yet still in a queue so i'm trying to wait until next monday to call again.

someone in here got their coc decision last week sd 16/09 so im about 2 weeks behind that

Jcl25 · 18/03/2025 10:23

I just had a very lovely lady phone me to go through a few things I had put on my form regarding the care I give my son. She said I will hear a decision within the next week by letter but couldn’t tell me one way or another. I’m 28 weeks today n/c.

Throwingitallaway24 · 18/03/2025 10:24

Finally found the letter with my scan date on. It's 5/12 SD NC. So probably still a few more weeks at least but I think I hit 15 weeks next week.

Oh how interesting I just came off the phone to them as I wanted to know if they had received the extra evidence I sent off. He said mine is currently with a dm but can also take up to 25weeks 🤣 hate this process

Ive seen claims from 15/11 be awarded so personally i would not send evidence this close to your claim being checked by the freepost address, if possible i would send next day recorded. If you do the freepost it can take up to 2 weeks to receive and a further 6 weeks for them to scan it on to the system x

I’m COC 27/09/2024. Rang on the 6th and it hadn’t been looked at.

katiewil · 18/03/2025 10:48

Hi All, I was awarded dla in Nov 23
first question does anyone know when they will send out renewal forms for Nov 25? As I know it takes months from first time around..

also wasn’t aware I was entitled to carers element so have been awarded back pay for this but since the DM awarded UC have completely ignored me.. not replying to journal messages and when I call it gets escalated but still no messages.. does anyone know how to make a complaint etc?

TippieTappyTara · 18/03/2025 10:53

MR 17/10/24 ... 22 weeks .. been allocated blah blah blah, he was badly reading from a script and I said your reading from a script aren't you ... he awkwardly laughed and continued reading it followed with you do not need to call back I said ... yeah I kinda do it's nearly been a year since I first applied. Another week another call 📞 😌 🙃

omg!!
scan date nc 16/12
I just received payment into my account of 1784.25
it’s been 12 weeks!
im not sure how to work that out?
my son has no diagnosis as of yet, we have adhd assessment on April 1st
he’s been accepted onto camhs pathway.
all I sent in was
senco letter
literacy assessment which shows he is significantly behind peers
i had my gp print off all of his appointments since birth and I highlighted all of the ones where I took him in due to behavioural problems and seeking help.
sleep diary of 1 night
and early help filled out the part of who knows my son.
I loved checking on this chat as I knew I’d be here for another 10 weeks or so.
can not believe it.

@Mumof31171 congratulations on your award.. Are you in England? If so what area please 💫
