DLA WAITING TIMES THREAD 66

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 10/03/2025 14:50

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

@PluckedFeatherDuster Your new award will go from the end date of your old award not your scan date as your claim is a renewal.

That's not correct as I was told the payment I'm going to receive next week is £434.30, when it would otherwise have been £290.60 as my daughter was on MRC but now HRC.

I did call option 3 but they wouldn’t tell me so trying option 4 now x
mine was 25/09/24 x

Got everything crossed for you keep us updated and I'm the 26th September so hopefully not long now 😊

PositivityRipples · 14/03/2025 10:33

@PluckedFeatherDuster what usually happens with renewals is the old award continues until it runs out and the new award then goes from that date so I'm not sure what's happened with your renewal... Give them a call on option 4 and ask them when the HRC HRM starts from and when the last award the MRC HRM ended no point in guessing as I've said in my experience they don't overlap renewals they would only do a COC from the scan date not a renewal.

SD 5/11, had been optimistically hoping to hear this week, maybe next week for us 🤞

Wallacebird · 14/03/2025 11:03

Bad news they haven’t changed their decision so I have to go to appeal 😭 going to take 12-18mths before appeal gets heard, I already have one going for my son!

i sent evidence from a lady who helps me with my children who has experience with send , evidence from the head master of my older children’s school saying she will definitely need a one plan when she starts school in September and is clearly on the spectrum and she has been accepted on the jades pathway.

so annoying!

anyway good luck to everyone else waiting x

Gutted for you the whole process is just long and distressing

MistandFog2024 · 14/03/2025 11:14

Hi a bit off topic but does anyone know how long first class signed for usually takes to arrive? I sent something to dla on Wednesday afternoon using this service but the tracking is showing not delivered yet. Thanks x

I know, I don’t know how some of these decision makers sleep at night!

I love my DD so much but she is such hard work! I was hoping on an award to help pay for someone to accompany me so I can take my daughter out! At present she gets out of her car seat, opens windows and doors, attacks me while I’m driving, the list is endless and I have video evidence of this!

I knew it was going to be bad news! I swear I’m jinxed 😂 my big American fridge freezer broke this week, i have 4 kids between 4 and 9! I’m insured so called to report it, they can’t find it on the policy. Turns out it was part of a multi policy so when my tumble dryer broke a couple of years ago, they had somehow removed the fridge freezer, but they had added an LG fridge freezer instead (mine is a Samsung) so now they have had to escalate it and I’m waiting to find out what’s going on and if they are going to fix it!
had to buy an under worktop cheap one just to get me by! Waiting to switch it on! And yesterday was my angels bday. She would have been 20 but passed away at a month old! Definitely a crap week 😭

That is dreadful and to make people wait all this time is horrendous
don't Mean to ask but do you get anything for either of your children as sometimes they feel that it is acceptable to make people wait because they already get something

I feel terrible for you your really going through it at the moment maybe go to your local mp when you appeal but just the thought of it and it taking so long is horrible sorry you've got to go through it 😥

Just got off the phone with them.

HRC HRM awarded from 8th January 2025 to 5th November 2027 and I was told the new award has superseded the current once, which is why I will be receiving £434.20 per month as of next week (Mobility element goes to Motability)

Nothing for my youngest and only middle rate care for my son, he was on high rate care but it got lowered at renewal even though he has got so much worse and is bigger and stronger! Been told from drs he should be entitled to hrc and lrm and that youngest should be on high rate care. They are both up frequently through the night and may have issues due to certain medications I was on whilst pregnant, I had to have progesterone, metrocopromide and omaprazole.

@PluckedFeatherDuster That's great news for you if your current award wasn't due to end until may and they've ran the new award from Jan... Good decision from the decision maker to do it under a supersession... Really pleased for you
Update UC from 8th Jan if you receive the lower child disability element from them
